Well, it’s probably gonna be different in the show. I mean, I think Mark is aware of the Reanimen and Show Cecil is more reasonable than his comic counterpart.
It’s been pretty page to page atm but they’ve made really good changes so far
The comic version reminds me of Josef Mengele and all the Nazi and the ones leading the Imperial Japanese scientists behind Unit 731, all wrapped into one.
While I’ve only read this issue to see what it’s like, I honestly don’t feel characters as awful as Cecil or Amanda Waller really work even in their stories. They’re Nazis.
I can’t imagine Superman not looking the other way for someone to put Waller out of her misery or someone not doing the same to Cecil. And with how the Joker is written, he’d possibly pay Waller a visit just for a “laugh”. Or maybe because in a Marvel crossover comic he was written as Antifascist.
I honestly don’t believe these writers really think about the implications of their writing, in the same sense as Chris Claremont making the X-Men into a minority metaphor in the 80s. In general it seems like since the fans took over writing the stories from that decade onwards, they just feel like fanfiction. And then the writers after them are writing fanfiction of the previous generation’s fanfiction... really explains a ton.
I like the core concept of an ordinary character who believes they have to use radical solutions to big problems, but the only one that’s really been handled well in my opinion is Nick Fury and Agent Coulson.
There’s nothing that suggests Mark knows about the Reanimen. It does seem like they’ll have Mark confront him once he does because of how horrified he was when he saw those teenagers being transformed.
It’s less about the Reanimen, more about him employing Sinclair, and dark wing without them facing any punishment for their previous actions

I wonder how different this arc will be in the show, they made Cecil very likeable and understandably on it
debbie and mark have already expressed their disliking of Cecil, i think that the show made Cecil a lil more self hating as well so we have some sympathy for him. but i bet they don't change much but perhaps we'll understand both sides of the conflict more in the show.
This likeability will vanish as fast as he will bring Conquest back to life and lie Mark about it.
I suspect they'll make it clear that Cecil really hates that he has to use such methods and maybe even agree with Mark that they really shouldn't be something he should have to resort to but cite Omni Man, Viltrumites, the Invincible War this thing with Seismic and a number of other incidents as reasons why he does it; he's got to have some kind of backup plan ready just in case. Basically I suspect they won't alter the events much but will change the framing of them.
I don't see any reason for them to hold back. Maybe Cecil could take Mark's offer, and fire the guys. Why not plan for that risk, and have another backup, like the earpiece?
Maybe something is gonna happen where mark does something cecil doesnt like and loses his trust and see him as an enemy and attacks mark but in the end he sees his mistake and stops.
Season 3 is going to be all about mark not liking how he "killed" levy, which leads to this altercation with cecil. We'll get the blue and black suit midway through season 3 and the invincible war to end season 3, with conquest being the cliff hanger for season 4
Surely the blue and black suit will come right at the beginning, or what was the point of the title screen changing colour? I don’t really mind can’t wait either way, I think that suit looks so much better than the one with yellow

Cecil handled that the worst way possible. Mark is reasonable and would have understood that they were using corpses, and that dark wing was reforming.
Cecil attacked because his pride was wounded .
Mark has even more trauma then Spidey which is saying a LOT.

Honestly, I'm kinda with Cecil on this one. Invincible and the entire world was SAVED because Cecil had other tools in his back pocket to protect the world. Like or hate his methods, Cecil WAS right in that he needed every weapon he could get his hands on to keep Earth safe.
problem is that you don´t know to what he would stoop to then as well, what crimes would he allow, when would he overlook just to win?
@@Darkworldwolf Winning means saving the world. You can't pick and choose when villains are aiming to kill everyone. No more plot armor for heroes in DC or marvel. The villains are just as capable as the heroes with the same plot armor
He was legit right, honestly I kinda feel like the writers knew that too, so they made him act like a massive douchebag during the argument to justify Invincible’s outrage as “good” and Cecil’s actions as “bad”
@@DarkworldwolfWhen the goal is saving thr world and either you acheive that or DIE and/or be subjugated by a cruel race of supermen, I think you're locked in a conflict where you can't be making half assed measures.
Cecil isn't always right tho, let me be clear. Nobody is 100 percent correct on everything. But at least Cecil has the right ideas in mind, the right kick in the ass attitude needed to get shit done, and is still pretty self aware of the consequences of his actions in order to quickly weigh the pros/cons both oractically and morally. He doesn't WANT to cause more harm than what is necessary and is ultimately trying to do what's best for everyone's bottom line: survival
Cecil was in the right until he straight up attempted to murder Mark for questioning him. At that point what Mark did was completely justified.

One thing I don't get is - why are Viltrumites considered so fucking deadly and a massive threat to the universe, when a guy with fucking mole people can inflict damage on Mark? Why does he constantly get his ass handed to him by the likes of:
- Giant Kaiju creature that was on steroids.
- Robot.
- Angstrom.
- Mauler Twins.
- Re-animen.
And many, many more...
And even more inconsistently is the likes of the guardians of the globe being able to hurt Omni Man. What the fuck is this? To deal with the Viltrumite threat all you need to do is rope a few of these guys up and they will kick the shit out of 50 give or take Viltrumites left in the universe, to say nothing of Space Racer's gun, Ragnars that just flat out destroy Viltrumites, the bug thing that weakens them, the scourge virus, particular frequencies and so on. The whole point of gathering all these weapons / weaknesses is because they are supposed to be so durable.
The power levels are whack. Why not just get Allen the Alien, and fuck him up like 4 more times then he's so OP that even Thragg can't do anything to him?
For starters Mark is young and a late bloomer and Vlitrumites get stronger with age and that is also pure power and durability.
The other is that most people at first don't know the Viltrumites only have like 50 people
As for Allen the Alien I can only assume that near death experiences give him diminishing returns.
Also the weakness to a certain frequency is also not a well known fact.
There is a reason that Viltrumites become less threaten as a whole as the series goes on because while they are super strong the lack of them means that even if you lose 10 or 1000 people to kill one Viltrumite you will win in the end.

This sounds like season 3 episode 1 and 2 material, but given after the 2nd season, Mark would need to somehow get his black and blue suit during episode 1 of season 3, but there's no way all the stuff in this video could happen before Oliver becomes Omni-Boy, which is when Mark gets his new suit, so I'm betting Mark would get his new suit in episode 2 of season 3 but that would confuse and upset people more since he didn't even get it during season 2 when the title screen heavily hinted towards it. No way they could fit all of this plus Omni-Boy all in episode 1 of season, would one hell of a start to season 3 and the ending credits would be that Levy survived his attack and dragged away to get medical help, hinting his return which would bring the Invincible War in like episode 6 or 7 and episode 8 would be Mark's huge fight against Conquest, end credit would be Alan and Nolan finally breaking out of the Viltrumite Prison

They can always change the order of the show and comics. We’ll likely get the blue suit at the end of episode one since it wouldn’t make sense to have it episode two.

My guess is episode 1 is gonna have Mark get the blue suit, episode 2 or 3 will have another "Allen the alien" episode where nolan and Allen escape the prison and rescue space racer, mid season will be about the invincible war and omni-boy and then episode 7 + 8 will be about conquest.

Cecil getting killed by Robot is the dumbest way to kill his character.
It really isn't. Cecil is a lot more antagonistic in the comics and you get the sense it's only a matter of time until someone gets fed up and attacks him...just not Robot, who has always operated on easy logic and somewhat predictable morality. Cecil genuinely has no way to see it coming.

Season 2 lagged but the last episode was great. The problem is they can't keep that momentum, as they drive too much into Mark’s personal life.

They dropped the ball for the whole show. Any hype from season 1 was completely gone by the time s2 came out, and another 4 month hiatus only made it worse. Anyone who watched season 1 back in 2021 and was actually interested in the franchise would have seen that s2 wasn't coming out any soon, read all the comics, and realized the comics are way better than the show.
