agreed haha, last time upper boon keng road near kallang stadium, the game on tv would lag a few seconds behind, when we heard the screams from the stadium we know got goal already 😂
The 1990s was the best Era for Singapore football and for the citizens. Those couldn't make it to the stadium, we will be glued to the TV. Whenever SG scores, the whole neighborhood blocks erupted with loud cheers. Those memories will stay on forever in our mind and heart.
And the radio. One of my most vivid memories is listening to the live radio broadcast of the match in Kuching between Singapore and Sarawak; for some reason, they were not able to broadcast live games from Borneo. We were celebrating goals hearing it from a radio with the antenna done just right! Fond memories.
Those glorious days are sadly a distant memory. It was a time when Singapore and it's people were cohesive regardless where you sit at the old Kallang Stadium. Everyone was a friend. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

In a time where the kampung spirit was real and singing the national anthem sends goosebumps. Now, there’s simply too much keyboard warriors and toxicity around for us to ever be able to experience that special moment in time ever again.
I was there at Shah Alam with my wife and young daughter on that very special night in 1994. It was an amazing experience, even though to be frank, it was an inter-state and not an international final. But the vibes were unforgettable and magical. Would I want Singapore back in the Malaysia Cup? Sadly, no matter how wonderful that memory was, the answer is no. We have moved on, and so has Malaysia. We can’t be playing inter-state football as a national team.
One of my fondest childhood memories was my late grandfather bringing me to the old Kallang stadium to watch the 94 team. The memory is so fuzzy now because I was only 5 years old then. But I remembered doing the wave and the feeling of being so happy.

Alot of comments here talk abt kampong spirit but we have to be dead honest that it was also the quality of football that made the spirit. The quality of football were of a good standard thru out the 60s 70s 80s till mid-90s. The hard reality is as real as it gets.
