Ok so I am going to try and put my theory to this video from what I know/deduced from all the information so far in type-0. It will be long winded lol and please feel free to correct me on anything or add your own input as I am sure there are a lot of you who know much more than me. *Spoilers obviously* So after playing the game twice we learn that the events of type-0 (with minor changes each time) have been playing in a continuous loop over 6 million times as two fal'cie compete in a never ending cycle to open Etro's gate. Dr.Arecia is one of those fal'cie and she wants to do it via repeating the cycle until one/all of her children become agito. 'Gala' the other fal'cie wants to do it via tempus finus which is bascially killing everyone to flood the gate with souls to create an opening, very similar to what Caius Ballad tried to do in FF13-2 to break down the timeline and save Yuel. Now after the 6000,104,972th time of repeating this 'experiment' four key significant things change from what I can tell. 1. Rem and Machina take Tiz and Lean Joker's place. 2. The class slowly start sublimaly remembering things from current and other cycles they shouldn't, Machina's grief/fear building up and carrying over the cycles, Caters 'DejaVu', Ace's dreams, Nine's anxiety etc. 3. Cid Aulustyne does a Quator Bashtor and actually becomes a good guy, sacrificing his own life by stabbing himself to try and end the cycle ("people arent puppets of the gods"). I think he does this because in one quest Tiz and Joker ask Machina in Milites to take them to see Cid, I believe they tell him everything and he does it because he learns about the 'cycles' and see's it as wrong and Cid at the end is actually Gala possessing his body. 4. The biggest point of them all, Class-0 choose to stay human instead of becoming L'Cie which I believe was strongly influenced by point 1 and 2... and even 3 thinking about it. (all that Cid trash talk lol) Because of these changes and because of seeing Class-0's, Quator's, Cid's, Celestia's and all the other people who willingly sacrificed their lives, Dr. Arecia begins to see another side to the human race and with a little bit of persuasion from Tiz (number 10), Dr. Arecia decides to end the experiment and remove the crystals from the world, essentially ending the continuous cycle. That is when we see the 'alternate ending' where class-0/Kurusame etc etc are all alive and happy and living normalish lives. This is now the new world where the crystals never existed, death cannot be forgotten and time can never be re-played. However this leaves one problem, Dr Arecia has stepped down from trying to open Etro's gate but the other Fal'Cie 'Gala' hasn't and will still be trying to open it through mass extermination. So my theory is she will be the next main enemy and this is definitly Ace in this video (however he looks much older so I am going to say this is a few years after the 'happy school years' ending we saw) and him and class-0 are fighting to stop the Fal'cie Gala. Perhaps the only way to do that is for one of them to become Agito? Perhaps that is what Ace is doing in this very video? Or perhaps now that the crystals are gone, the four spirit creatures need to chose a champion to give their power to and the vermillion bird is choosing Ace to become its champion after proving himself in whatever fight has just got him shot with a load of arrows? Just a few theories but I do believe the events of this will happen after the 'happy alternate ending' as that is a canon ending because it is the final loop or 'spiral' that Dr. Arecia decided to release all the phantoma souls and the souls of Class-0 into that were stored in the altocrystarium. Unfortunately now class-0 only get 1 chance and 1 timeline to take down their enemy this time as opposed to the "6000,104,972" times they had before lol :D I think that's pretty cool and I am pretty stoked for this to become a minature franchise of its own as it is a great game and it seems the titles of type-1, type-2 and type-3 are already in the bag so..... .... yay!
hotshot12ism My simple guess is that it could be because he is in a different cycle. Theres that scene at school when Arecia is taking one of the kids through the weapons vault (I can't recall) and makes a comment about what weapon they have decided to pick this time. So I'm guessing there instinct sometimes changes and they choose different weapons each cycle? It could be that or it could be that without the crystals magic no longer exists so none of the class have powers yet. Of course Ace's old cards worked purely on magic whereas a sword doesn't. Perhaps this is just him growing up in a world with no magic? Who knows, it's a tough one, I just hope it and Ace's tears aren't because something bad has happened to the rest of the class.

I like to think that the man we see here isn't Ace, but a similar in our world during Feudal Japan and when this man died, The other worldly samurai Phoenix (down) armor sent Aces spirit through the veil of their world into ours. Think like a link between models of the same phone but made in different areas.
Who would've thought that Type-0 will become its own series. Are they planning it to be like the PS and XBOX's FF Crystal Chronicles for Nintendo? I'm getting the feeling that the FFXV team that are composed of former VII and VIII team will become Tabata's own team now, from now on. They're in good hands. When they first announced Type-0 they trademarked Type-1, Type-2, and Type-3. Tabata has said that he wanted to turn it into a seperate numbered series that can be a bit more experimental and tackle darker subject matter.
SuzakuX That was a brilliant idea. Fresh new start. FF getting a quality main-series caliber spin-off saga. So, if Tabata's team is handling a bunch of separate projects, that means XVI is actually being develop by Hiroyuki Ito's team, currently. Good times ahead.

Damn Ace can be cute and hot at the same time. I love how you get to know his character more deeply by constantly talking to him and exploring his environment, like you do when getting to know a real person. He's not exactly the main character but I hope he gets to be for Type Next. It's clearly a reincarnated version of him but any version of him is great!
I started playing type 0 HD on my ps4 ...and so far Ace is the weakest of the bunch.I guess he becomes a badass later on ,yes ? another thing when leveling the characters...do I really have to select each of them for a mission if I want them to level up or do they level up in parallel even if they aren't being active ?

He was one of the most powerful in my gameplay even when at the same level as the others. Perhaps it depends on how you develop him and use him. He was good for close range and long range, for offense and defense as well. I'm sure you finished the game by now. How was it?

Well... I never played Type-O I've only read up a bit about it but I might have heard some stuff regarding this. OBS! The following is without a doubt spoilers for FF Type-O! As I said I haven't played the game so I can't answer for how much of this is facts and how much is speculation. But who knows, you might get something out of it that leads you closer to the truth... The one they call "Mother" recreated the world over and over again as part of an experiment until the time they finally won the final battle by choosing to remain human instead of becoming la'cie. In the secret ending of Type-O we see class zero all alive and just enjoying daily life at school, this being the result of "Mother" recreating the world one last time to let them live happy lives.
Ace and the rest of the original class 0(Machina, Rem, Tiz, Lean is not included) can be dead or alive in type-0. First, we can assumed that they are all dead. they died during the final battle because they absorbed Arbiter's Phantoma(the final boss). this Phantoma is not good and fatal for human to absorbed. Second we can still considered them as alive because Arecia removed the crystal from the very beginning which means, from the very start, there is NO war, NO death, NO lçie and no Agito/Arbiter. this ending is the "What if..." scene, you can unlocked by equiping summer outfit(all members) until you finish the game --its the alternate ending. This Ace(in this video) is not related to the Ace in Type-0, thought they are the same Ace, but this video(and possibly the Type-next) is not existed to the universe of Type-0. so the previous series and the sequel is existed in different universe. Possibly, Cater's Deja Vu is also their memories in previous life/universe, just like what Arecia say during the above the 6million life(?) scene, "this is the 600 million cycle", or i guess, i forgot Arceia's line during that scene"
I completed Type-0 a couple days ago, but I never saw this? Do you have to do something to see this, because I just got the normal ending explaining what happened with Machina and Rem after it all.
Spoilers: What if Arecia allowed everyone to remember the dead again, and all that good stuff happens, but then somehow Orience gets wiped again so the loop continues but this time Class zero is revived with all their memories of their past lives intact?

I`m stoked that there will be a sequel(played the psp game). First: this is a good ff game, in my opinion anyway. second: But it had a highly troubling final act. so this is good news that they will add another story to this really interesting ff universe! when playing the hd edition you should always keep in mind that this was a psp game in 2011, you might be disappointed otherwise.

I`m stoked that there will be a sequel(played the psp game). First: this is a good ff game, in my opinion anyway. second: But it had a highly troubling final act. so this is good news that they will add another story to this really interesting ff universe! when playing the hd edition you should always keep in mind that this was a psp game in 2011, you might be disappointed otherwise.

Laura Lucis most like the cycle of Death and Rebirth he and the rest of Class 0 has been trapped in is involved in his return. It already crazy enough that they've been reborn and killed each time in their lives just because their world's gods had some bet with each other.
I liked every game from square enix :v The fantasy is just "perfect". the story is amazing too. i have no idea why people hate this developer because of final fantasy gameplay has changed. what important for me is the "fantasy" hahaha
