Great summary but the under rated part of this All Blacks team is the front row. This is saying alot, but in my opinion theyll be considered the best front row in the world in 18 - 24 months. Book mark this comment lol

Tosi and Williams. Two ex no.eights now packing down in the front row. Pair them with either Taukei’aho or Amua and you’ll have one of the most explosive front rows in world rugby. Realistically closer to the next world cup.

    Dont sleep on DMac.
When he committed to 10, he went and played in Japan for a season in 2022 where he played 10 consistently rather than the 15/10 combo he was getting in NZ.
Took out top point scorer, his team topped the table, and narrowly missed out in the finals against the other top team. But then he came back to NZ, and it was immediately obvious how much he had grown at 10. Playing at 15 where he has time to see the gaps was his forte, so what has he done at 10, he plays deeper to give himself that time he needs, but he also has been unselfish in his distribution and has been so good at picking out the right players. And his kicking is on point, taking out top point scorer in 2023 and 2024 Super Rugby seasons.

As a long suffering England fan (I remember the England of the 1970s 😱😟) it is great to see England playing fast running rugby, and scoring tries as a result. The biggest change is the willingness to take risks. This is still an evolving team, but they will not be a pushover for anyone. Should be a good game.

I highly rate England in the next 3 years and at the next WC - I think they'll be in the final. (South African btw, completely neutral)
England 100% have the exciting talent in their backs, they just need their forwards to set up a dominant platform - and they've got a forwards pack with 1-2 WC experiences under their belts each and hard lessons learned, but also they've gotten close enough in the past to know what it now takes. I can't find reasons England don't do well in the next 3 years, unless there's some kind of player/coach revolution, but Borthwick seems to have the ship tightened. A free-flowing strong English team is a a great thing to see, let's hope it happens!

Firstly, there’s never been a better time for rugby related content and Big Jim here and the weekly Rugby Pod show lead the pack (shout to Alfie and co at The Ruck too!), so much better than GBR.
Jim gives a very fair assessment of this England squad and there’s some very, very good players coming through and, importantly, are starting to settle, are all showing excellent form and under Borthwick, are not constrained by some limiting game plan as England were under Jones.
England have every reason to be optimistic and if they play as they have been, then I think this squad can make a big statement on this tour.

I don’t think the team is in transition. We are weak at 9 but that’s as Roigard is injured. 15 too but Jordan is injured. DMac was the backup to Richie. He’s class. Scooter and Vaai were at the WC. Hardly a transition. The game will be won up front as always. Backrows cancel each other out. But front 5, especially front 3, the ABs are significantly better. So they’ll win and win well.

I just think NZL under razor is gonna beso scary! I have watched Super Rugby the last 9 years without missing a game and alot even before that just not weekly and Razor has the secret sauce the only problem i see is his impact will take a few months. His appointment is defs 4 years to late. He would have developed the squad very well from 2020-2023 but oh well he will have to just work a little harder to undo the foster era of shite.
But mark my words if he can undo the foster era of shite which will take time (because image if he took over in 2020, the 2024 all blacks would wipe england by 60) he will turn nzl into the og all blacks where they will lose 1 in every 15 - 17 games!

Nz/aus players are mid season- mid winter- been playing 4 months and are peaking in their fitness & skills- the European guys are at the end of a very long season. Performance always drops off at the end and they need to rest and freshen up. Nz/AUS teams are always lesser when touring Europe on an end of season tour - with SA they are all over the place & who knows- seasonality is the reason tours down under are hard - really hard

Disagree on the ABs midfield. They average at best. And a liability for them against the big teams. 13 is a world class winger who butchers his centre lines after years in the position. Still can't martial the defense. 12 is a world class fullback but doesn't have the foot work for 12. Both are talented wonderfull players, but not their best positions. They both go backwards under pressure. NZ has better centres. If England are smart they will target the AB midfield. Dmack at 10 against a big team that isn't a super rugby side that can't tackle where ehe can't run his way out of trouble is another opportunity for England. Are England smart or just formulaic? Let's see. NZ will be up for this like never before.
