Big Jim, our brother from across the oceans. I just love how you get us, SAs if you don’t know us, are easy to dislike. What makes it worse is we don’t really care what others think. Imperfectly perfect, chaotically organized, bragadociously humble. I have watched this series, usually through tears, but still looked forward to every one of your reviews. Don’t pass by again without stopping anywhere you want for some wine, a chat or a braai. Our favorite voice out there along with Eggchasers. Hope your lad recovers soon and the family are well.

If a producer really want to make a true life Cinderella story it would be the Deon Fourie story. He became a Springbok at an age when nost people are retired. Years of grinding it out and disappointments. He got chosen as a backup flanker and ends up playing 78 minutes of the World cup final as a hooker and ends the match as the winning captain. You cannot script this true story. Will surely be a blockbuster.

My only criticism with the whole show is how Mostert and Kriel didn't get their moment, Mosters had huge games, vs scotland, vs NZ, the tackles he put on with PSTD. And Kriel played the best rugby of his entire career, during a time everyone was worried with AM being injured.

Big Jim , as a South African born Scot’s man , I respect you and your unbiased opinions when it comes to South Africa, it’s sad how the rest of the world doesn’t respect or recognize we are a simple nation that play rugby with our hearts, and this is a sport that , the Afrikaans people had to learn about in prison camps in the boer war

South Africa doesn't play for glory. Don't care about the ranking. Our hopes and dreams and aspirations are symbolically engraved in the Webb Ellis cup. Since the day Mandela laid hands on that thing, South Africans became spiritually connected to it forever. Nothing matters more than winning that cup

I hope your young man is healing up well.
Thanks so much for this series. I'm South African and I've thoroughly enjoyed your guided tour through what may be the crowning achievement of a Springbok golden era.
We may not win them all, but we win when it really matters - and I can tell you that both the 2019 and 2023 world cups really have mattered to us as a people. We're going through a lot as a nation.

Wishing your son a strong and speedy recovery.

I think Sam Cane took the tackle upright, straight legs which makes it dangerous and there was a lot of talk around this, Siya clearly bent his legs, this is the difference between red and yellow cards. Felix was incredible, I am nervous with him no longer being with the Boks. Loved Jacques speach too, wonderful addition to the amazing series. There are few non South Africans who understood the prase "hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie", you are the only one who I have seen get it spot on. It's the heart of a South African, can't isn't in our vocabulary...very impressive, well done! Thank you Jim, what a road it has been, look forward to you visiting SA for some of the big games.

Totally agree, there was not 1 player in that squad that was less than great. After every game, I could not suggest a best player, the team and every member was just incredible. Best rugby I’ve every watched. Impossible to sustain that level, it will be how they deal with being beaten in games. And take nothing away from France, Ireland, England and All Blacks.

Thanks for the synopsis throughout the series Jim. It kind of takes a blokes bloke to properly understand the nuances behind this team and their psyche. You get it. All the best for your lad - I’ve got 4 boys so understand!

Hope your boy heals well. Just tell him Pieter Steph's injury story by way of inspiration. And thanks for the reviews of CtS2. Been waiting for this one all week.

Best wishes to your son on a full recovery, Jim. I know that kind of thing is hard for the whole family. And as a fan of your work, thanks for doing what you do. Really excited for the interviews from Japan.

Love your show, Jim. I've been watching you for months now and lived through rugby from the late 70's. I love your dedication/commitment & passion for the game. Your knowledge, insights, and networking make it so interesting and exciting as a subscriber and viewers. And your commentary is always factual, hands-on, and unbiased. Awesome 👌 Channel !!!
Heeps more interesting and genuine than the 3 stooges (sorry, I can't help myself) and their commentary in the Breakdown show in NZ. I'm almost positive they get paid to encourage sensational commentary.
But love your channel, Jim. From a Bok supporter in Cape Town

Great review! There are very few from the media that truly understand what drives the Bokke. You managed to capture it, I also liked the Eggchasers review. I absolutely loved this series, a shame I had to jump through hoops to see it in the Netherlands. Hope your son recovers fully and quickly!

You’re equally brilliant Big Jim - & have supported you & Nat Rugby Team - singing Flower of Scotland as Passionately from the Brave Heart in particular playing for & now record 4th successive Calcutta Cup vs still hypercrical auld enemy England - In RSA/Zim SpringBoks - Yes it is We /They want & believe it more & Rassie the Top Catalyst ( similar to Telffer/Geeg Scot’s coaches & Chasing the Sun is So True ( might add means even more for a Rhodesian Rugby Lion / now Zim Sable 👍😀🏉🇿🇼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇿🇦🏉🏆🥇💜🙏
