I am a 49 year old punk who grew up in the 1980s and 90s punk scene in America.
I have only seen the beginning of this so far and I am SHOCKED by the resemblance of the lead male and the (sadly) newly-late Shane MacGowan when he was young. If ever there's a compliment, that's definitely one! He was a beautiful genius who wrote increddible music as the frontman of the Irish punk band "The Pogues". The way this guy looks, his facial expressions and mannerisms are so so perfect and should another mivie ever be made about The Pogues or the life of Shan MacGowan i think this actor already has him down!
So far they're just leaving the tomato patch andd the way they acted with one another just brought me straight back to tge most favorite years of my life. A24 just keeps dishing these stunning movies out amd the more I love their stuff. I am really stoked on thus movie so far and I'm only avout 35-40 min into it. Ill update this when its over.
But if youre questioning the validity of the quirkiness and hyperactivity, along with the deep deep feeling of love and loyalty with your best friends ever, don't. Thus is very much the way were. I miss it so much.
I LOVE Nicole Kidman. She always chooses different and daring projects. She really does it for the craft, and she's one of the best actresses alive.

this movie is not about talking with girls.....at all!!! misleading tittle....it would have been nice to explore THAT theme....but they didn't!
there's no such thing as an "artistic tittle".....a tittle is designed for one purpose only: inform the audience what is being promoted, it identifies a theme, it describes a product, it describes the reason to be of what is being advertised. That would be like placing a sign PIZZERIA but when you enter they only serve HAMBURGERS!!!...then the owner tells you "It's an ARTISTIC sign!!" You're pissed cause you really wanted pizza!!!
Movies are....tittles are not.....tittles have to address the subject matter in some aspect.......If I make a movie about the battle of Gettysburg and I title it "Lets go rollerskating!!"......I can cry "artistic" all I want but is just plain STUPID. Take the Hunger games....in the book it was a perfect tittle because it dealt with actual hunger....in the movie however.....it did not, so the tittle was LESS appropriate.
Hell yeah, Neil Gaiman is the man! I just read this comics a week ago and I love the direction they're taking the movie. Can't wait to see it

I remember reading this in Neil Gaiman's collection Fragile Things. The short story ended with the boys realizing they weren't humans at all so it was all open-ended, but it had been a very good read in using aliens as an analogy on how boys and girls are different. I'm watching this!

I'm all in on this Nicole Kidman role I hope she's in more than two scenes.
Her role is very small. She shot it over several days while she was doing a play in London.
Mahershala Ali shot his scenes for Moonlight in that short of a time and he's like one of the most integral (and best) parts of the story.
Saw this movie at the local cinema. Weird and great! Highly recommend to everyone who loves A24 ;)

definitely a instant classic, and one of the best and mainly weirdest films, of this genre that i've seen, that represent he so cool and rebel punk life in that time in England, alongside a freaky mix of madness, romance and social crittic, one of the best adaptations for a work of Gaiman, all a trip from the outer space to a rebelious wave in London, !IT'S PERFECT¡, !OH YEAH¡.

I loved the sheer amounts of awkwardness and misunderstandings made due to the fact that she is an alien and everyone else in UK were regular humans. I guess from the humans point of view it could be chalked up to thinking the aliens were unusual because they were American tourist but it did make for some funny bits.
So the Red clan were super strong and did gymnastics, the Blue clan screeched really loud, the White clan did ninja poses, and the Orange/Black clan did... well... that 0:56... but what the hell did the Purple and Yellow clans do?

Update: I seen it it was ok. Two main characters were the best. Eveyone Else needed s bit of improvement. Rising action was really odd to say the least. Good concept, "ok" execution. Good ending. 7.5/10 I recommend it. Not in theatres, watch it illegaly online somewhere
