    I had to do a quick condolence card for a cousin who had to put her cat to sleep. I am sure it took more than 2 minutes, but it wasn't too much longer than that. I used patterned paper, a simple layout, and stamped some cat images with a stamped sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment. I am thinking it took 10 minutes. For a hand made card I think that is good. And it was cute and clean and simple.
    Sometimes just coming up with the idea takes much longer than that.

    • @ardyth

      Condolence cards are hard to make quickly - well done, you! Sounds like you nailed it! And that is a good point about the ideas taking longer sometimes! Thanks so much for watching!

    I love that you give us other options for the cards. It's not always easy for me to come figure out what else to do to a card, so I really appreciate your suggestions. I know the more I hear them, the easier it will get for me to think of them while I'm creating! :)

    Thanks for the video. I needed some quick cards for neighbours so I did the stencil card idea. I woke up this morning and went over stencilling them again with crackle paste just offsetting them and they’ve turned out great. Have a great Christmas

    Great ideas as always! Thanks for sharing your talent.
    Do you remember what the clear bottles? Jars? are in the front row of you Poppin (grey) organizer is? They are the perfect solution for those tools.
    Also thanks for the heads up about those watercolors. Sparkle flecking off on my hands is a deal breaker for me. I really appreciate you sharing your experience.

      Ah, Melissa, you have eagle eyes! Those are plastic spice jars, without their caps, of course. I bought them because the are square and I thought they were super cool, thinking I might keep embossing powder in them. Then Marion from WOW! said not to take powder out of the original container (increases static) so they sat around until I put them in the front row, so to speak. I added foam tape to the bottom of the organizer to keep them from sliding and tipping over. Thanks for watching!

    My quick cards usually involve panels of patterned paper and a sentiment on a circle. This is easy for me to do as an assembly line. Cut all the panels, stamp all the sentiments, cut the circles, assemble. This way I can do all the stamping on, say Tuesday, and put them aside, do the panels Thursday, etc., and assemble, put in envelopes, and add a postage stamp all in one go. I can address them all while watching TV 😊
    This year I'm going to try stencils, though. I'm in love with A Colorful Life Designs!

    Wow! I never learned so much in one class before and I’m so impressed with your teaching ability and I’m gonna have to go back and watch this all over and take notes where to get everything and it’s pretty overwhelming but I really want to do this kind of card I’ve tried making cars before, but Internet kind of messy I get smudges organized in my parts are all over the place. How did you learn to have such an organized craft room? You can tell I’m ADHD do you think this will never work for me! LOL

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  Год назад

      Haha! We're all different and if you're ADHD, I'm probably more on the OCD scale - I always liked to keep my things organized. What I do know is that we can all find a way that works for us. If you get smudges, try keeping a baby wipe nearby to help keep your fingers clean, or do like many of us cardmakers, and use the smudges as guidance for where to put sequins or gems! Thanks so much for watching!
