14:25 Similar to how you were talking about people in the U.S. never having been to the beach because they live in landlocked states, Gojo and Marin live in Saitama, which is a landlocked prefecture. They took about an hour train ride to get to this beach (likely Yuigahama in Kanagawa prefecture judging by the image of Enoshima and its lighthouse in the background). So being in a landlocked prefecture, and Gojo being so engrossed in his craft, he never had the opportunity to go to the beach. The birds (“tonbi”) are called kites in English (like small hawks) and they are notorious for stealing food from beachgoers. The whitebait in their burgers are called “shirasu,” and they are tiny white fish when cooked, translucent when raw. That area (like nearby Kamakura) is famous for whitebait dishes.
@ Right, I figure if Gojo’s parents had still been alive, they would have visited the beach at least once. But being raised by his grandpa, who daily has to work on his business, they probably had no time… and honestly, before Marin, Gojo probably hadn’t had any interest in such places.
I think it's further west than Yuigahama. More like Shichirigahama or even Koshigoe (which would make more sense given what trains they would have to take from Saitama).
If you think about it, the abandoned hospital is still owned by someone. The owners can offset basic costs by renting out space to photographers and such. Of cosplay in Japan is so popular that entire stores are dedicated to the trend, then I see corporate types renting out unused spaces.
and some superstitions (not exclusive to Japan) would say to not live or work somewhere that people have died. so, the idea of tearing down an old hospital for apartments or a shopping mall might not be popular with some. But an "abandoned" building for photo shoots or filming movies would be "safe" This scene id based on a real space for rent in Japan
@@sea-envy3137 I think I recall (don't feel like re-reading them right now) reading the afterword's in the manga that just about every location, and event is nearly a 1:1 recreation of actual stores (Ex. Swallowtail is a real wig shop), locations, and rental studio's except for s bit of extra flavor sprinkled in at certain locales
The stuff in the burger was whitebait, pretty much small fry anchovies and they're a staple and popular in Kamakura, putting them in everything lol. I'm assuming that's where they went to go to the beach.
your reactions are sooo cute! i love how you've been slowly but surely falling in love with the characters! been watching all of your My Dress-Up Darling reactions, but never commented until now. and i agree with pretty much all of your commentary, like especially regarding the fan service, is a part of this that i don't really care about and i think the series would be so much better without it (or at least without the extremely gratuitous parts xd), but it is what it is i guess and i still love this series sooo much, is so wholesome
I'm not sure how far they are I'm sure they probably are already done on patreon or something but if not I'm sure they aren't ready for the Hard Times coming.
😍Dani🥰I’m getting ready for my final class, I get a knock at my door, I thought it was Soo, it was Everleigh! I let her in and asked, how did you know which room was mine?! She said. “The guy’s in the lobby told me.” Gang, my fiancée calls me a snitch, for telling you about my everyday life, but I don’t tell you anyone’s address. Holy shit! I sold her that shit so fast to get her out of here, before anyone got the wrong impression. Last thing I need is for lil folks, to be on my ass about a girl coming to my room. I couldn’t even get upset, because I’d be the same way about a guy going to her room. On King David. I’ll holler at you on the next one gang. On BD.
It says something about this show that it's definitely horny but when they go to the beach they're fully clothed and overall it's a very wholesome secene. It's like they're saying yea, we like indulging in fanservice, but we're also want to be more than that.
I love this show! I could do without the fan service, but in all honesty, the manga is much worse, so this is already toned down. The story is so sweet, though, so I deal, lol! I'm glad you ladies are checking it out, too. There's another that is similar. Again, with the fan service, but it's a really sweet romance, too. It's called "More than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers." If you like this, you'll really like that one, too.
Gojo while standing in the ocean: "Marin, if we kill all our enemies out there, will we finally be free?"
I need to see Marin in an AoT cosplay now
Slow your roll there, Wakana Jaeger
Do not compare sweet Gojo to that fascist
@Mr.Abreu.76 Pretty sure that the point of the joke is that Wakana and Eren are about as different as you can get.

Yeah, it's pretty realistic and sad actually but mostly people visit places like these with friends and family.

Those are a lot of neat facts! Ty for sharing!
I remember all of the warning signs about the kites when I went to Enoshima. Guard your food. 😂

11:53 "Marin , If I make all the cosplay outfits out there , will I finally be free" - Wakana Gojo 'the common one'
“I will keep moving forward until all my costumes are finished” Gojo Yaeger
It's a nice little touch that both sisters hold their hair the same way when they're anxious.
This latter half of the episode is so sweet at the beach - young kids having fun and early stage of a crush.

@@VirtuousWanderer and of course the author got permission to replicate real locations. She was so embarrassed about her research for episode 11
Agree Sam, the animation is so crisp and smooth. Gojo and Marin's dynamic is so sweet and endearing.

10:35 lol this reminded me that I used to use this Gojo face as a reaction image whenever someone would say smth dumb😭
i can't wait for episode 11😂😂

Just casually waiting for episode 11
Sam Good luck in Cartagena, Colombia and beware of the scammers who are many on the beach
11:53 TATAKAE
The bird is based on actual birds that do steal food in Japan.
