The Writer of the Manga did a lot of on-sight research when writing, She travelled to schools, and cosplay events, interviewed and met with cosplayers, learned all the tips and tricks so that the manga was accurate to how things are actually done with pro cosplayers and the little hacks new cosplayers use. I love how the story really makes you feel like you can cosplay if you really wanted to! Also Gojo is such a wonderful and sweet young man, yeah he is a guy and has pervy thoughts who doesn't, but he is respectful as hell and I appreciate that, he would never do anything to take advantage of someone else. Plus he got the tism and I can connect with that!
It would be a good manga if it wasn't for Marin being a Mary Sue. Also it focuses more on the Cosplay aspect than the romance which is kind of off turning if someone (like myself) was expecting it to be the other way around
Why is it "pervy" when a man looks at a woman and has sexual thoughts but the woman isn't "pervy" for doing the reverse? For those who think this doesn't happen, what do you think it means when a woman tells her friends that a guy was "hot"?
@@LibreWolfUser firstly it's literally called my cosplay girlfriend so it's unfair to even expect less of the title and more of a romance focus and just sideline cosplaying. Also Marin is not a mary sue at all? why is it negative for her to not be overly flawed, gojo isn't being called a gary sue and he's basically the same as marin when it comes to how good of a person he is. Becuz if you're going off of the ACTUAL definition of a mary sue neither of them are, not a single person in the series is. She needs gojo for literally the biggest plot of this show, cosplaying, down to making it, doing her make up, shooting it etc. She brings of course herself and her modeling and pays him, thats about it, nothing mary sue about it, she can't even cook that well. Gojo has more he can do than her, so that was a ridiculous claim to make against her character

There's not one other anime or manga where this occurs that I can think of. As for her being a Mary Sue, I mean she's unbelievable/inconsistent which is saying something since it's really hard to remove the suspense of belief in an anime. She's a beautiful extroverted nice girl that happens to like animes and eroges semi openly but her personality doesn't match that. She doesn't feel like a real person. One example would be her being head over heels for Gojo after the first cosplay event when it doesn't make sense with her established personality. It makes her look needy and that goes against her friendly unbothered chill vibe she gives off. What would be believable instead, would be her really likeing him for helping her with cosplaying, but that's it, since that's all they have in common at the moment.

There's a bunch of manga that people wrongfully thought on but the 're usually the minority like in this case. The literally first episode of this introduces cosplay and from then on goes heavy into the details of cosplaying specifically, every episode. Also u could NOT have read marine any worse than u have just now, u are only saying this becuz it didn't delve deep into it and focus only on that like u thought it would and that is not the author's fault. With that argument of her seeming needy that literally contradicts what a mary sue is... i don't think u know what a mary sue is
I legit cried when I first saw this episode. I think one of the best things about cosplay is that it allows you to experiment with identity, and sometimes having a different body can help you feel more like yourself than you normally do.
You're going to love Amane- san in season 2 then! Their backstory and why they do cosplay is really moving every time I reread the manga. Please look forward to it :)

I’ve grown to really dislike having to dress in suits and such because my mom and family would often get me things that were, more or less, the “right size”. With the insistence of a tie, and my claustrophobia would start to run wild at times, to the point that I literally wanted to tear myself out of the clothes on the spot and set them on fire so I’d never have to wear them again. So, if I suffered in something that is worn normally, I can’t imagine I’d last using things to alter my body in such uncomfortable ways, like corsets and such.

I REALLY didn't like Juju because of her threat when she first appeared, but Gojou brings out the best in people and I really love how Marin and Juju are just fangirling over the cosplay together. He really brings positive changes to everyone
