I watched a suitcase factory in Vietnam the other day. This Japanese factory is at another level including the cleanliness, quality and post product testing.
Usually the quality of materials used differ. Processes are same. Where labour is cheep they use labour. In Japan labour is expensive so lots of automation.
Yes...but this factory would be similar to South Vietnam if it still existed. South Vietnam was already building vehicles back in the 1950's with Xe Da Lat. Obviously, Japan is still far ahead, but Vietnam would be a different country today if it wasn't for communism in the first place (both North and South).
Same here. The biggest difference for me is the quality of materials. Vietnamese workers are highly skilled - not using high-tech machinery keeps lots of people employed.
@@chrisx5127 Yes, Vietnam wouldn't be this cheap and dirty place for living (in comparison with Japan) if there was no communism!😂😂😂😂 Yeah, right..........

@@SarabjeetSanghera yeah, it's the customer's prerogative to choose whether they would risk it with the cheaper one or spend more on the more expensive but quality one.
Fascinating to watch. I just watched the same process of luggage making from VN and you can now see why one is dirt cheap while others are more expensive. The quality and care of this is night and day. You do get what you pay for.
Very nice video showing automation and skilled workers putting out a high-quality product. Hello to everyone who helped make this video. ❤❤ Watching from North Carolina, USA.
The blue luggage was made by Proteca (Japanese brand) model name is FREE WALKER GL, materials are Polycarbonate + ABS mixed resin. Has high strength, high stiffness, high heat resistance, and high impact resistance.
Now that's how you make a suitcase. I've just seen a video of a Vietnamese suitcase factory that was so crude and absolutely no testing. It was basically a sweat shop. Sure the Japanese one will be more expensive but at least you'll know it's quality and the workers are safe and paid well.
Comparing with another video which I watched on Vietnamese made luggages , I can say that Japanese made luggages are still much better . While in terms of luggages quality , they all seem to be made from similar materials , but there's other things to take note of. From Japan, the stitching seems better, thus producing stronger luggages , the care taken at each step by the workers ( no throwing of luggages around ) , the working conditions of the factory are so clean, there's even vacuuming at the end of the process. Not to forget that R and D help in improving the durability of these luggages. Vietnam , u still has a lot to catch up!!
Agree , one is first class high tech machine , one is sweat shop low tech poor third world country . The quality speak for itself . Japan is much better but also more than 10 time dearer you are talking 300-500 dollars compare to VN 10-20 dollars .
@@ductritran8637 That's more like 20 times than 10 times. I'm sure though it's not 20 times stronger or better. I have one of those vietnamese luggage, USD 17 for 24" size. It's ok quality, not as good as this japanese's one for sure. But if it breaks in a year or two, it still worth it for me.
Way back in 1978 i use to buy suitcase Japan made brand Ecolace. Since this Ace brand is the only suitcase made in Japan, i can assume Ecolace suitcase must be manufacture in China Ecolace brand quality is good but expensive because high end quality
I like it. ❤ Very good quality. Excellent quality testing. These Japanese suitcases 🧳 are highly suitable. 😅😊 With Lean Six Sigma, I bet they can make it more efficient in production. For example, there were 4 different types of machines that creates a hole each; taking 4 steps. Why not simplify that into a one single step machine that punches 4 holes at a time?
they make different design and size and every design need different holes in different inches and one machine is very complex and not able for all operations, and it is easy for maintnance purpose slam from pakistan
I'm assuming it's just molded plastic? it's bad that there is no metal frame inside, but the weight of this product would be very heavy I mean, once such a suitcase was broken at the airport, it cracked like an eggshell (it was not of high quality) I liked this plant, everything here is so modern that I wonder how it was possible to create Thanks for the interesting video
I think it's some kind of polycarbonate resin mix, idk if that's durable enough or not with very heavy luggage but if it's only for maybe 5-10 years of being used as normal travel luggage it should be fine, it's a cheaper mass produced model after all, not the high-end one
@@oniplus4545 It's just that if the plastic is hard and not soft, it will be more crumbly and not elastic. In the production of suitcases, it is just necessary that it be elastic, since we all know how baggage is loaded into the airport
@@PROProcesss correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't polycarbonate elastic by nature tho? even if it's a little bit, in that video the case can bounce like a jelly a little bit when it got into hard impact

Really quality work and suitcase. Just don't like the fact that it does not have a metal hinge. Uses the zipper and a rubber/plastic type guard. But if it works, then it works.
If they are using the soft hinge it must work, Japanese quality tests everything extensively before committing to a design, if only everything in this world was built to Japanese standards, we would have a lot less landfill from rubbish made in China
