    My experience with Dejavu feels exactly as Jaby described it as - its like I had a dream of what I'm currently experiencing. I can never tell if I actually ever did have any dreams similar to or exactly like what I currently experience because my memory of most of my dreams are blurry at best.

    i used to get deja vu a LOT as a kid, less so as an adult. as a spiritual person, i believe its a past life thing. i will hear words, phrases, read a book for the first time, read a historical event, have an interaction and its all "i've dealt with this before" but i know in reality i havent. at least not in THIS body. i mean im from a super small town, i havent gone anywhere as a kid lol

    My most vivid memory as a child is a de ja vu that keeps me from ruling out “para” phenomena being real:
    I was watching the show “Perfect Strangers” on a “portable” television (weighed twenty pounds but had only a phone sized screen) in my bedroom while playing LEGO. I saw that last scene and the credits start, so I ran out to the kitchen to refill my water before the next show started.
    On the way there I passed through the living room where the main tv was still showing the end scene of the same show. I stopped and stared, as the bad sitcom jokes played out exactly as I’d just watched, until the credits started.
    I told my parents what had just happened, and they believed me. We started looking in the TV guide for evidence that the show was broadcast on a second channel, maybe a little out of sync. No luck, and to this day I always listen to stories of “time slips” and “precognition” even though I have no room for them in my world view logically.
    Edit: spelling

  • @DarkseedAlpha
    @DarkseedAlpha 2 года назад +15

    Many of my deja-vu experiences, like Jaby mentioned, seemingly happened in a dream first and then in reality, sometimes months later, which is why it is somewhat difficult for me to chalk it up to forgotten memories or temporal desyncs in brain processing. Some would refer to this as precognition, but I wouldn't. The actual experience of "recalling" the dream in the moment comes on like typical deja-vu: eery, flitting familiarity. And only once it fades do I remember that it was something from a dream, which isn't helpful.
    All that said, neuro-temporal desync is probably the most likely answer to this phenomenon. Recent neurological studies on how our brains make decisions and whether or not we truly have free will have found a recordable time discrepancy in the overall decision-making process. Meaning that from the moment we "think" we've made an utterly unprompted decision, our brains have already resolved the decision several moments in the future, essentially before the impetus for making a choice even exists. We take for granted how our brains perceive and interpret the flow of time, but maybe it does it a bit less linearly than we imagine.

    I used to have the "dream deja vu" when I was a kid.
    The only one I can't explain:
    Had a dream that I was walking in the hall of my elementary school. Someone said something* off to my right, and my response to that got me yelled at and grabbed by the arm by a teacher.
    Sometime later in that school year... walking down the hall, the thing was said, and I caught myself before replying, noting that the teacher that would've been the one to hear and react was immediately to my front and left. Normally, I wouldn't see this person as I'm blind on the left side, so I actually turned my head to see the teacher, because I did remember that the arm grab was from that side.
    Brains are weird. I wasn't really the type of kid that mouthed off and got in trouble, so this was all odd to me.
    * This was decades ago, so the detail of what the person said, and my reply, is lost to my slowly dying brain cells.

    While I do think most deja vu cases are just us being confused with what our brains can do and respect the scientific approach,
    I did have one stong deja vu when I was in my teens where I could distinctly "predict" what was going to happen a few seconds before them, for a short moment.
    Didn't have anything as strong again, but did have a few cases where I was pretty sure I dreamt about a certain action or chain of events.
    I'd like to entertain myself that it may be something paranormal or something we don't yet understand about our brains, but it's best to keep it ground level for now lol

    From experience, a lot of Deja Vu for me were moments that I had dreamt before, though sometimes idfk why.
    If interested, Phillip K. Dick's books and talks arefascinating research points for stuff like this.
    One of my favorite Deja Vu's spanned across multiple years, with several moments intertwined. Whether this is real or an altered memory, idk, but still intriguing.

  • @elagea5617
    @elagea5617 2 года назад

    Some of the DeJa Vu I experience is when I have had the interaction or a place is familiar but I can picture different people or building. I think my brain remembered certain lines, such as how the line of the building meets the road and sidewalk, then we find a similar building or connecting lines, and our brain transposes the memories to see if it is a new or similar memory and if we should know something about the current location. Same thing with conversations. A few syllables strung together at just the right pitch or tone and your brain needs to check to see if you have has this specific conversation or just a similar one. When the memories are too similar that the brain cannot tell, you get Deja Vu.

    I've had bouts of deja vu that came with premonitions based solely on the fact that I'm so familiar with the situation, I know what's coming next, whether it's an action or a statement from someone else, something I obviously have no control over. It's the weirdest, scariest sensation because you start to question if you actually dreamed it or somehow otherwise actually experienced it before.
    Since I personally believe all time is technically all happening at once and we just experience it linearly (meaning the future is technically just as written as the past), I consider deja vu as just a skip in the linear experience of time.

    In my childhood, when I was about 5-7yrs old, one day a mom from our neighbourhood came to our home with her year old boy, just a casual visit. The kid actually looked like my brother when he was his age and something happened. My mom was holding that kid and I was behind her looking at the kid’s smiling face and I remembered an old memory where my mom was holding my brother and I was looking at his smiling face.....
    and that’s how I got introduced to déjà vu.

  • @linkvicky
    @linkvicky 2 года назад

    My experience is exactly like how Jaby described it except I interpret it in a different way. Instead of a dream I took as an experience of either a memory of this same life happening again or an experience that has already happened to a version of me in another dimension. And I think that, according to your belief, deja vu manifests differently.
    My experience: I was at school walk through the savannah with my friends and I suddenly got a huge deja vu. Almost like I saw the future for a second. So I decided step aside. And that's when my friend said, "How'd you know I was about to jump on your back?" I knew because I saw it in the deja vu. So I also think deja vu can be worked upon somehow to enhance one's clairvoyance.

    I'm like Jaby. But I get them every month. They are annoying cause at first I thought going a little crazy, even saying what someone says along with them.

    Okay ok, So not taking any Jabs at Jaby but Jaby's sharp memory thing, can we say it may actually works only when he is with people living a moment but doesn't quite work good enough with his work or RUclips specifically movies/series reactions (may be coz it's work and there are so many things to react) still i just wanted to point it out coz that has happened wow so many times. 😅😂

    I much more often experience Vu JàDé , which is obviously the strange feeling that you're pretty sure you've never experienced anything like this before. :)

    For me Deja vu is like I have done that thing in my dream like futuristic dream .....for eg. I recently moved to new house and while sitting in new verandah I felt like I had been same situation before feels very familiar ..I dont know whether its possible or not .....I explain to myself it might be in my dreams that's why its feels very very familiar

    When I get déja vue, I always try to predict the next events in detail. Never succeeded.
    maybe those in the comments can try this too.

    dejavus I experience is a feeling I been through this exact sequence of events before several times over and I know how it progresses,
    but then eventually that knowledge is proven false, meh :P

    It ssems that Deja vus happen when parallel future possibilities and circumstances are foreseen in dreams by sleeping through the subconscious mind as it's an only 5th dimensional material exists in human body.

    Why is there only this French word for deja vu? If it happens to everybody.. Every language should have a word for it!
