    Cool, Andy. Hadn't seen opal luminesce after fluorescence. Can't beat late granma's green plastic Jezza, mate, fantastic Italian fluorescent plastic. We did like seeing the rubies glow, although wished you'd put the excellent blacklight torch onto your tray of gemstones, to see the blue sapphires turn the glowing pink like the rubies. The purple piece, maybe an opaque purple sapphire? There's a giant black sapphire called "The Star Of Queensland" displays asterism, a six-pointed star-effect in sunlight, caused by the layout of the crystal structure, silkiness, but star sapphires have to have an eggy pointed dome for the effect to show.
    We're chuffed you're to be off on an extended break... I'm still reminded of the feeling for the mystery detour, coming to take you away, take you today... We'd been to some country farm excursion in primary school, and out of an ethnic kid's language misunderstanding, when the principal announced, "Now, we're returning to lost property!" we cheered loudly, luckily the kids thought I was being ironic, the staff thought me an anti-authoritarian! We still look forward to returning to "Lost Property"!😮😂

      Thanks buddy, did you have a look at "Frenchy's" video on the prize dirt jar? Quite surprising what extra was in the mine tailings! Cheers Andy

    Hi,
    Could it be Moranbah diamonds?

    • @andypandyAU.6669
      @andypandyAU.6669  Месяц назад +2

      Could be ,I grew up near Moura Central Queensland. We spent a bit of time out that way as a kid. Thanks for that, I will have to do some research on that. Thank you for watching and especially commenting. Regards Andy

      @@andypandyAU.6669 I have heard that they are very hard to cut/ facet and hard on the diamond dremel bits as well.
      I had a few of those Moranbah diamonds as well and it looks similar.
      Thanks for the answer.

      @@yippeekari3021 thank you for the info , I did check them out, these are very waterworn. But I think they may be Moranbah Diamond's. Thanks for the comments,
