I'm a fan of Chaka Khan from Rufus era way back in 70's. She's powerful voice is amazing. I suggest the songs "Once You Get Started" and "Half Moon" from the album "Rufusized" by Rufus.
We all have different taste and that's ok but imo this is one of her best tunes!! I love the bridge before the sax solo and offourse the solo itself by Michael Brecker!
Love her. I was going to marry her in 1980, but she didn't know I existed and I was 10. At the risk of sounding all Diliverencey , she's got a pretty mouth. Eyes too.
Angela- You are doing a terrific John with your reactions. For Friday Ladies Night -may I suggest a song”I Have a Love -One Hand/ One. Heart” by BarbraStreisand and her favorite singer-Johnny Mathis. It is an incredible song by this dynamic duo. A perfect pairing.I am sure you will really enjoy it!!
This dance track is very much indicative of I call the 'post-Disco pre-HipHop' period of Soul & R&B; that small window of time from around 1978 up until late 1982 when Michael Jackson released 'Thriller' and changed the music forever. This title track the rest of the 'What Cha Gonna Do For Me' album was largely intended to allow Chaka to express her skills both as a Funk/R&B songstress and to utilize the jazzy side of her vocal abilities. Definitely not a 'Pop' record, but a great song nonetheless.
I had forgotten about this song! I really like it! I like Ain't Nobody by her also! She was also the lead singer for Rufus as well! It was more than ok for me! Goodbye!
I suggest you do "Awaken" by YES. It takes you on an uplifting spiritual journey. Here's a great live version: ruclips.net/video/nDXccU0xgNo/видео.html or the studio version. But it's amazing how close the live version is to the studio version.
Chaka is a very talented & beautiful artist and once a brave comrade as she was a member of the Black Panthers. But somehow the zionists have paid off all famous comrades and she ended up going to Isreal to praise an apartied system.
@@primeminister66 I just thought Chaka Khan has always been great but Whitney Houston always overshadowed her . I was like this when Whitney Houston was alive so it's nothing new for me saying Chaka Khan was better or is better.
At 71 years old, Chaka is still a powerhouse and a ageless beauty. ❤❤❤
What it's doing.It's kicking k I c k I m kicking my rumpelstiltskinn
Her voice sounds like a musical instrument, just spectacular. One of the great singers of her generation. Gorgeous in this video too.
This is in Chaka khan's top three "funkiest" tracks. 🤘🏾
INDEED!!!
Listened to this one for the first time like two weeks back. Quickly became my favorite solo Chaka song
Thanks for playing some good music again!!!

Chaka Khan, Niecy, and Minnie Riperton… Chaka Khans best work is Everlasting Love or Pardon Me in my humble opinion
Freya Ridings "Lost Without You"
Where is a time machine when you need one? Thanks Angela😊

look like chaka is on a construction site with all that scaffolding🤣
I agree with Angela , I think its just an ok song . For ladies night Angela you could try Kate Bush , Cloudbusting , thats a great song
The original song was by average white band
Ned Doheny actually. Hamish sang back up on it which is the AWB connection.
I think Chaka Khan is a hundred times better than Whitney. What's her name who killed herself.
Wow, not necessary, you can appreciate someone without disrespecting someone else or their memory
