    Good job bud! If ppl would pre-drill, the world would be a better place.

    True story: I found this video looking for how to fix my stripped door holes. However, I could not find this again. I've saved it now if I ever need to use it later. Recommend adding more relevant tags to this video so others can find it easier: such as "stripped" "door" "screw holes" "faceplate" etc

    Hi! Thanks so much for sharing. Very helpful! I have a hollow door that’s peeling off its top layer in pieces. It’s hard to explain but I would love to send you photos so you can suggest one of your videos that might help. Do you have an email I can send the pictures to?

    There are epoxy putties that work better and have more strength than bondo. PC Woody is one.

    Will plastic wood filler be good to add material? Instead of mixing bondo

    • @diywithconfidence
      @diywithconfidence  Год назад +2

      You bet! The only difference is that Bondo is an epoxy filler, that means it dries faster and gives me a shorter work time. I also only have to do one layer with Bondo, whereas I might have to do multiple layers with the wood filler.
      But yes, both will work. Thanks for taking time to ask a question.

    How long do you give the Bondo and Wood Glue to harden?

    • @diywithconfidence
      @diywithconfidence  Год назад +1

      Bondo will dry super fast (sometimes TOO fast) if you simply add more hardener (the red part). It also will heat up b it is a chemical reaction. Depending on the quantity (depth and breadth) you lay down, you can can plan from an hour to overnight.

    Those aren't vise grips, they're clamps.

    • @diywithconfidence

      Yeah. I know. I typed “pistol grip” on the screen to repair what I said. Sometimes wrong words slip out while I’m working…. Fortunately no cuss words slip out though. 😉

      I admit this is pretty ingenious. Looks like an elegant and simple design. If you send me one I’ll try it out and review it on a video. Send me an email if you’d like.

      I did the toothpicks thing, but they didn't break flush. It's still much better than the holes that were there before!!😂😅

      @@suzannebinsley5940 The toothpick hack is helpful but typically won't last. Hopefully, you will get some time out of them.
