Hey Greg, started playing guitar over 40 years ago while in my early 30s. Would have loved to have had you doing your thing on youtube back then. Your way of teaching is absolutely user friendly and provides info that both novices and experienced players can learn from. Wishing you, and you mom, all the best. ~ Mark

I have to say that I have watched many guitar videos but you seem to give the most simple explanation and instructions of how to be creative by simply adding a finger position to the chord. It just adds another layer of sound.

Just picked up the guitar again after 10 yrs of not playing anything. So yea love ur patience n showing the rhythm n how u do simple things w the cords that give it a rich sound. So thank u for doing these I'm really havin with them

I have my favourites on here i have learned a bit off and i know it all helps with progress but when you start learning late (in my 60's) like me, i got caught up stuck on too many side issues like scales and fancy chords that im never going to use when all i really needed and wanted to do was learn songs. you can learn heaps of tricks and skills by sticking to that. Sometimes, when you realize you are really only ever singing to one person...
...and that person is a human who is also experiencing joy, fear, worry, doubt, exhilaration, and confusion followed by moments of pure clarity only to find themselves once again lost in all of the beauty that is life, only ever one person sitting before you, listening with you, taking it all in...
...at that moment you realize you are only and always sitting with a friend, even if you've never met each other... There's only ever, one person.
    Blessings brother...

Hi Greg! I'm 65 and have know how to play since college, however as life gets in the way and priories change and my guitar sat dormant for over 40 years after I got married. About 3 years ago, I took it up again and have added guitars to my collection as well as the number of songs I can do. I took 1-on-1 lessons, paid for lessons on video, dvd, ect. Very helpful, but still missing something. I ran across your video and noticed you had just started the channel. I think I was #37 when I subscribed I think. Anyway, I really enjoy your down to earth sincerity in showing your craft and your insights of playing. What was missing was the chord variation(s) to keep the songs to 3 or 4 chords to where it can sound like you're playing 6 or 7 chords without actually having to remember more chords. I also have stage fright in front of a camera. It's been a year and a half since I last attempted to put out a video on my FB page. I know I sound better now with a lot of practice, but I'm still apprehensive about doing it. Watching you is giving me inspiration to put something out again. Keep doing what you're doing! 10-13 minutes is a good length for a lesson video. Any longer, it loses me. All the best to you your mom. I lost my mom 3 yrs ago so enjoy her while you have her. Michael

Stage fright? Yeah, I hear you. The way I’ve always looked at stage fright is, if you don’t at least get a little nervous before you “perform” then you really don’t care. And most everyone that is watching believes you care. Also, more importantly, they want you to succeed. So just keep doing what works for you. People will come and go. But you’ll build an “audience” that really wants to take the ride with you.
