- There are 5 archetypes that have a single pendulum monster, which means they do not actually intend for you to use them to use them for pendulum summons, and exist for other reasons.

"She wakes up then goes back to sleep."
Yeah, me too, you ain't special.
This was single handedly the best comment I've seen on any platform all day.
yeah but she REALLY eepy
Sleeps, wakes up, eats all of the food in the kitchen, then goes back to sleep. You really are just alike.
Well… yeah, but did your sleeping, waking up and going back to sleep remove a bunch a cards? I don’t think so.
Wake up samurai
-Wakes up
-Banishes everything
-Goes back to bed
-Refuses to elaborate
She only have 1 job.
Sleepy girl pulls out RPG and drags mattresses back to her bed
"Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle" vibes
@@smith7602such an underrated hilarious show that no one talks about
This is gold
Honestly, I never realized that Dreaming Nemurelia was using the Extra Deck as her matresses. That makes me appreciate the design of the archetype even more
the dreaming reality of nemleria, realizer has an art of a cake monster carrying nemleria on top of it. One of it's effects is to put nemleria directly from the deck to the extra deck face up, realizing it makes ne appreciate the archetype more.
Using the ED as a mattress sounds adorable.
So cute and creative
The loli is very cute. Protect her
@@soukenmarufwt5224Can you come with me for a moment sir?
@@f.b.iagent3971Shh, she’s asleep, and you guys can be very loud sometimes.
ED more like BED
Nemleria:"I sleep. Unless I get to banish someome to the Shadow Realm, then I briefly wake up."
Nemleria is eppy and neebies to sleepy. Unless she doesn't have a bed. Then you dead....then back to eepy
Nouvelles after Konami combined them with Patissciel:
They have 2 thanks to that archetype merger
Patissciel as an archetype hopefully is as generic as possible and can turn non pen into pen
Also there is "Antihuman Intelligence ME-PSY-YA" the only Cyberse-Type Pendulum Monster
Which is also teched into metaphys
Yeah but the video isn’t about types, it’s about archetypes. Else you could also include PM Zombie, the only Zombie Pendulum monster.
@@burningfox4974I'm obsessed with P.M. Captor for some reason. I really want to see what they would do with a whole archetype of Zombie Pendulums, this is unexplored design space.
I made custom P.M cards that can pend summon zombies from the banished zone as an idea.
That name is HORRIFYING
0_0
@@doubl2480 I was thinking a Zombie World retrain that sends pen monsters to the GY instead of Extra deck.
Also zombies inherently have deck-to-grave or hand-to-grave effects. Just having a monster that pulls Pendulums back from the gy is already good. It’s just the lack of Zombie synergy pendulum monsters.
Id love some more Nemleria support... Such a fun unique deck.
We're getting a few more cards for sleepy girl in Duelist Nexus on the 28th. Makes the deck more playable which is rad. Still a ways away from being meta, but it's fun for casual games.
@@guymcperson9300 i literally saw that after posting this and got so excited lol
You forgot one. Poissoniere de Nouvelles. She's like a chef literally cooking the other Nouvelles monsters while she's in the kitchen (or the S/T zone).
Dreaming Nemleria is such a cool creative and adorable concept
...fffuck now i want to make a dreaming nemleria deck just because of how fucking cute it is
If we count the "chaos" monsters that banish a light and dark to summon as an archetypte, they also only have one, the pendelum chaos end dragon
Came here to make that comment. Its actively against what Chaos wants to do too. So hard to get that thing in the grave.
"If we count the Chaos monsters" well, we're not, so.
Dreaming Nemleria sounds like a cute idea for a playstyle
Sad that Namleria isn't that good, she's so cool
🤔 you build this right you win by turn 3 at the most maybe sooner 🤷🏾♂️ lol wym not good?! After reading that effect once she starts it's every turn after that she can do that lol
My boy jord was really a good entry to the plunder patroll, if you see it, fear it.
I really hope they release the wind ship soon. I imagine if we actually got functional scales and a back row negate🤯
@@harrycrosswell2844and a water ship
seriously we need more metaphys support like metaphys diabolos, metaphys simorgh and metaphys luster dragon
Nemleria is really fun flavour, something I feel is missing from a lot of yu gi oh.
Never thought Nemleria's mechanics represented sleep. That's actually very cool.
Nouvelles also only has only one Pendulum monster, which is a searcher, but also can be used for chainblocking and changing battle positions (ideal to play around Nibiru).
Six Samurai don't have a Pendulum monster despite having Fusion, Synchro, XYZ and Link monsters. That's a shame.
Some of the Vrains decks like Borrel took it to that length, but they didn't much like Pends at the time. D/D/D getting their Link allowed them to have every type of ED card. I forget if Salads has a Synchro; it might be a newer one.
I think they're good without one. They don't need to be able to special summon MORE
@@donovanlocust1106 This deck's not a threat; if we didn't put their 0 card to 1 like in MD it could happen whenever; they might just not care to do so cause it's not relevent. Just checked and it is back. Nevermind.
@@runningoncylinders3829 which card?
@@donovanlocust1106 Gateway
What about Crystal Keeper of Crystal Beasts?
they have another pendulum scale, crystal master
This should be more common. The applications of a monster being a spell or a non effect monster having an effect through the pendulum scale is a great concept.
Zombies having only monster as well, but that's the entire Type same for Cyberse.
Not sure if it counts but what about Guiding Ariadne? In name its part of a 2 card archetype, but its counter fairy support
A few months ago, we got Fairy Pendulum "Harvest Angel of Doom" and she can search Black and normal Horn of Heaven, both are counter traps. So, it is technically a new Counter Fairy Pendulum monster.
@@renaldyhaen God damn it!
Friendly reminder that Jord is pronounced Yord as the Patrollships are the Norwegian word for their attributes and J is pronounced like Y
I still find it funny they were advertised as the first "pirate" Archetype but are really more like Viking raiders.
It’s not Yord either. The ship is named after Jörð who is the Norse personification of the earth (it is the earth ship after all).
Like you say the J is pronounced as a Y
But the rest of it is pronounced the same as “earth”
“Yearth”
Shouts to Guidance Pend for Counter Fairies. Their the goat for that deck
Oh, so now there are cards that are pendulum AND synchro? Wow
I always forget about the dreaming "archetype" (idr much but I know it's like 3 monsters and a few spells). I never knew about the extra deck effect, now I kinda wanna learn the cards
I've found the Nemurelia archetype to be a lot of fun. Definite recommend for casual play.
I'll admit I am not heavily invested in Yu-Gi-Oh, so I've never heard of the Dreaming archetype. That's adorable.
Dreaming Nemleria is such a cool concept! It's very MTG like in how much flavour it adds to the card and the mechanic.
I like the Purrely series for the same reason, that the monsters all tell a mechanics based story depending on how "well" you raise your kitty.
We need much more flavourful cards like these!
Does anyone have other examples?
adamancipators revolve around the "excavate" mechanic, where you dig into your deck until you found a "rock" and then you bring it to the superficie (board), the extra deck monsters are basically the adamancipators mounted on them, presumably because they befriend the rock beasts so they allow them to mount them without any issue.
Dragonmaids are a series of low and high level dragon monsters inspired by the popular anime kobayashi-san-chi no maid dragon, a series where dragons take human form and cohabit with humans, particularly Tohru, a dragon that serves as Kobayashi's maid, but when they have to fight, they morph back into their dragon form, similarly in Yugioh, whenever a battle phase occurs, any low level dragonmaid will tag out (morph) to a corresponding high level (high attack) dragon form, when the battle ends, the big dragons will return to the hand and bring back the smaller humanoid form of the dragons to the field,
Exosisters are cleric-military themed deck, in an apparent post-apocalyptic world, some girls are bestowed divine grace to fight against hordes of undead, these girls in appearance innocuous, work in pairs and can become fierce warriors ready to banish any forces of evil that dares to came back from the tomb, all main deck monsters are a series of weak, level 4 spellcasters (presumably because of their cleric trait), that gain additional effects if their corresponding pair is on the field, of bring their corresponding pair to the field, and all share the trait that, whenever the opponent moves a card from the graveyard, they tag out to their xyz warrior form, ready to combat any threat, and specially the opponent, who dared to dig into the graveyard searching for power, their main focus is to banish the opponents cards and seal the gy so the opponent cannot touch it again, making sure everything remains in the graveyard or is banished from existence.
There's in fact, a lot of decks with mechanics and effects that reflect their story or concept, like how sky striker's extra deck is the main protagonist, Raye, mounted into a mech-like suit, each designed with a different purpose like a defensive one (prevents attacks), an offensive one (gains attack), or a long range combat style (can attack directly), while the spells, are either a movement the mech can perform, a gadget the normal raye can use, or support she can receive.

OMFG, bro! I had given up hope on this query, and here you come, giving me this fantastic rundown 😭
Thanks so much, bro! 💪
These are great! So much flavour!
duston: summon on both field duston monster to lock the monster zone (covering the zone with dust),
Ghostrick: play trick to opponent with diferent ways like milling the deck or instant win condition (play trick on opponent)
Mokey mokey: angry vanilla that spam the field and gain 3000 atk each once one of them is destroyed
Ghoti: banish themself and return to the field (traveling in space) during opponent turn and synchro summnon thier boss.
Melffy: returning to hand (hide away because they are shy) to activate effect
Graydle: controlling opponent monsters by becoming equip spell of them after crashing at the (digest target and turn into them)
Suship: gain benefit when xyz summon using the monster in the archetype as material (combining rice and ingredients)
Magical musket: using spell/ trap from hand during opponent turn when having the monster of this archetype on field (like they aim and fire bullets in reponse to opponent action)
Triamid: inspired by theory that pyramid was built by alien with advanced tech. The field spell is their megazord that transform itself to benefit the monsters.
@@lamlai9330 Woah! I didn't know a lot of these Archetypes...
Thank you so much! Wow, there really IS a lot of Flavourful Decks out there... 🥲
The last one is such a cute and original concept for a card
Log can you play dreaming nemleria deck?
A potential honorable mention could go to PM Captor for being part of the Zombie archetype. I know it isn't technically an archetype, but since there's a decent amount of cards that search broad for Zombies instead of an archetype, I thought it could be honorably mentioned.
You could say that for most types though, Zombie type ain't special.
Never heard of Nemleria, sounds hilarious. Too bad it doesn't seem to exist in Master Duels yet.
itll be a few months probably
Nemleria is a solid rogue deck, very strong but hard to manage.
My local pretty much disappeared when I bought nemleria cards, so I'm looking forward to its md iteration
She's rather new so it might take awhile, but there's chance she would be released together with the new cyberse support so you can get both in one selection pack.
I like the idea of Pendulum monsters even if not being used for pendulum summoning, being added to archetypes.
bro "Dreaming Nemleria" reminds me of "Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle" when she is sleeping its calm but when she is awake chaos ensues.
Awesome! You should do one about the archetypes that have tuners and no synchros
Plunder patrol does look mad fun!
Dreaming Girl is basically Azathoth, when she awakes all hell break loose
There seems to be recent rise of pendulum cards with its unique gimmick and doesnt even relied on pendulum summon
Nemleria is genuinely one of my favourite archetypes. The theme is pulled off so well, I enjoy the gameplay, and they play nicely with other banish strats. Love this deck
There is also the new card based around "Hungry Burger", the "Nouvelles" monsters, who have only one pendulum monster
I love gimmick decks like nemleria. It’s such a fun way to play. I’m building a nouvelle deck because the concept of voici la carte is your opponent picking something off the menu (because the ritual monsters are actually just the food and not the spirit)
The (Performapal Odd-Eyes) Synchron erasure is wild
Dude i'm actually so hyped to use the Nemleria Archetype; card arts of her monsters look sick and it's a pretty unique playstyle from what i've read.
nouvelles are a thing too they have one pend monster that cooks in the back and that pend monster is usually used to make the LV 1 ritual ( she cooked it ) and she can target to activate the ritual effects to tribute themselves and one card to bring another ritual (she cooked the second ... meal ? Idk my English sucks )
It would be cool if every main character’s deck had a pendulum monster for them. A Dark Magician Pendulum makes sense to me, as would a crystal beast one.
Dark Magician and the Magician Girls can splash into the Magician archetype, which was one of the first Pens.
Also Crystal beast does have Pen monsters known as “Crystal Masters”.
Heroes don’t have one (yet), synchrons/stardust idk has one, Gogogaga/utopia doesn’t got one, and neither does Code Talker.
@@burningfox4974
I mean doesn’t the magician archetype have a bunch of affects that try to separate non-pendulum magicians from themselves? Like “Magicians” should be like Archfiends: a Superarchtype with branching paths, and a few support cards that tie them together.
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire Pendulum magicians is funky because some cards are hybrids. Going into Odd-Eyes, and performapal.
I’m just saying that Pen Magicians have the keyword “magician” so technically it could be blended into DM and DMG archetype
@@burningfox4974
I mean what cards specify “Magician”’s in general anyway?
Crystal Beast got 2 pends ages ago.
Ah yes, my favorite Bujinki card, AmateraTsu
What not talking about the Hungry Burger pendulum
Did i just hear the name "SusanOwO"?????
Decoy Dragon can also trigger your bigger Metaphys monsters effects so they get to do the nasty to your opponent ESPECIALLY if you have the field spell live
I’ve never thought about Nemleria like that, I’ve been enlightened
Oh wow i didnt even think about Nemleria and the ED being her bed tbat she sets back up after "waking up". Thats cute
Id include Nouvelle. It has two, but rarely scales and even if you do, you arent pendulum summoning with them. Most of the time, you are summoning both on opposing fields.
They turned Decoy into a Metaphys lol
Technically speaking, Fluffal, Edge imp and Frightfur only have 1 pendulum monster each, even tho all 3 archetypes are intended to be used together.
Forgot Ariadne for Counter Fairies
another bujin or metaphys scale to complete it would be nice, i usually go susanowo into kagutsuchi as an extra material with hiruko
P.m. Castor is the only zombie pendulum
dreaming nemleria is actually a cosmic horror
I knew 4/5 before seeing the video, I didn't see the plunder patroll one coming even tho i play the deck soo much :3
amazoness pendulum as well just putting those two on pendulum scale to recycle back ur amazoness traps and spells from gy and remove traps and spells on opponents side or your side
interestingly enough, there are also multiple archetypes full of Pendulum Monsters that still do not aim to Pendulum summon in their "pure" form: Magical Beasts, Endymion, Vaylantz - they just use the gameplay properties of Pendulum Cards themselves (being treated as Spell cards and being confined to specific parts of the board)
And nouvelles are also getting 1, however itw funny since its a ritual deck, so it would never be used to pendulum summon.
nice pendulum monsters and archetypes!
I don't know if this counts but Chaos Emperor, The Dragon Armageddon is the only CHAOS Pendulum monster.
"Chaos" is a strategy and not an archetype but it feels weird that it's the only one.
There's the Speedroid epnd monster that searches a card, that's cuz Corkshooter revives monsters from the GY and Marble Machine goes to the extra deck face up after ut's used as synchro material, i think it's to stop Speedroid from having an easier access to Corkshooter's broken effect
So if you have an extra deck full of water monsters… does she technically have a water bed?
They should've given more archetypes pendulum support. One or 2 cards at least. Pends would serve more of a purpose then.
Satellar knights actually have one as well though I don't know what it does.
fun fact: nemleria's bed gets smaller after she wakes up once.
Just you wait. Here's me chaotically coping that we'll get a Link Pendulum Monster for the Plunder Patroll Wind ship.
I was honestly hoping for a ritual Plunder, that can use the monsters from the S/T zone as material.
Maybe even Rit/Pen (cause I think there’s only like 1 Rit pen monster) so it could go into the ED to be cheated out again.
and now there is 6
Pendulum summoning was the reason I left yugioh for good and went to magic. Still fun to watch these videos from time to time.
You know pendulum isn’t GOOD right?
I love metaphys decoy dragon especially when my opponent doesnt read😅
I definitely want to see another pendulum for Bujin and for Plunder Patrol.
Xyz/Pendulum Airship for plunder, and a second normal/pend for bujin
Bujintei SusanUwU
monarchs have only a single pendulum monster
* Insert half the Zefra cards *
Are there really 2 of every archetype now?
Zefra cards have 2 for each archetype, one with higher scale and other with lower scale
Do a Pendulum Summons monsters that support archetypes that don't pendulum summon like Mornarch.
Don’t forget that Crystal Beasts just have Crystal Master as on field protection
Crystal have 2 pendulums. They were released together.
Also Eccentrick is like the best small world target in D/D/D
Fluffals and Edge imp's only have one Pends each as well!!
Rip counter fairy not getting recognition
I use Anchamufrite in a monarch deck for a free card and special summon to use as a tribute.
Thing is eccentrick is useful in pen decks as you can get off both effects easily and her scale is decent.
Eccentrik is also the ...
What's the MST for monsters?
That's her in the Monster Zone
XD
Theres more bujin pendulumns
I believe you forgot a card: Chaos emperor
eepy girl...
Kuriboh has 2 pendulums. However, all Kuriboh are level 1, and can therefore never be summoned.
Does counter fairy have any Pend other than ariadne?
Better than those decks with their only a single ED monster of a certain type and an in-archetype to bring it out. Just feels like such a waste, especially for the Fusions. I get they want to make a card technically better than Polymerization, but if I only have one fusion to go into, then I may as well run a different fusion deck entirely.
Floodgates
Rip my man visas 🫡🫡
Technically zombies
Manadome gonna have that veda pendulum too
