Hyundai IONIQ 6 - better than IONIQ 5?

- This is the Hyundai IONIQ 6. A very interesting and stylish electric proposition from Hyundai. It is not an update of the IONIQ 5 but a completely different car. With so many EVs coming to the market, should you consider the Ioniq 6 at all? And if so why?

If you were on the market for a new EV - would you consider IONIQ 6? Yes? No? Tell me!
No. I see them a lot (3 times per week 🤭) here in rural Northern Germany. They are convincing in the review , but don't look good on the streets, parking lots. Too big as a daily driver.
For me it is: keep your good old petrol engine for the long distances. And go for a small and light EV as a daily driver (size: Jeep Avenger etc.). Unfortunately these small EVs are still too expensive.
Edit: we used to drive a Hyundai e Kona for 3 years, now it is a VW ID.3. But also using Petrol and Diesel engines. And even bought a new Skoda Diesel in November 2023.
There needs to be more smaller EV's imo.
Yes!
I can't make my mind up about that car. The front, like the pre facelift Tesla Model 3 doesn't work. Because my sons are now driving, and I wouldn't need a big car, if I was to go electric, I might wait for the Renault 5.
I looked at them all and now have a Skoda Enyaq 85x Sportline on order. You should test it Anna.
Enjoying the videos on the channel 👍👍👍
Magnificent scenery, you look great as always and oh yeah, there's some electric car involved in there somewhere.
Haha, thank you x
Great video Anna, as always love your content.
How Korean cars have progressed over the last 20 years or more. Back then they were unreliable with for example gearboxes made of chocolate or something just a strong. I remember driving a Hyundai rental car about 25 years ago, and I felt quite disappointed they gave me a Hyundai, but now I'm sure I'd be quite delighted to try one. As for Chinese v Korean? Well longer term I think residuals will be better with the Korean and because the brand is more established with more dealerships, after-sales service & servicing is likely to be better. The other thing is human rights! I'd always question who had constructed my car if I was driving around in a Chinese thing. Did they have any choice or were they made to build it. How much were they paid etc. That isn't a concern with the Korean car.
I would consider the 6 if I was in the market for a BEV.
I much prefer it to the 5 by virtue of the fact that it isn't yet another SUV/Crossover.
Good to see that some manufacturers haven't forgotten the traditional saloon.
Love the car
Fab review
Your looking fabulous as always
Thank you John ❤
Thanks Anna. You always provide great viewing
Thank you Bernie!
@@AnnaOnRoads you are most welcome young lady. Please keep the great vids coming
5:05 The backseats are interesting, they seem to have a decent slope to them, you sink into them like a bucket seat, so very cushy on the tushie. This is first time I've been jealous of a backseat. 😂 I guess they are so sloped to counteract the sloped roof.🙏
Last month here in Southern California, you could actually lease the base RWD SE model for $239USD/month with zero $USD down for 24 months. It was actually the least expensive new car lease available ICE, or EV. If that’s still available this month, I’m seriously considering this option, as I’m growing tired of the maintenance that ICE cars require, not to mention how much just a basic oil change costs nowadays.
Excellent car review Anna👍it seems an overall great car 🚙
Overall, a very solid EV proposition, thank you Simeon! ❤
I have an EV. I would consider an Ioniq 6 as a future car. If one doesn't do a lot of cross-country trips, an EV is far more practical than a petrol car. The Ioniq 6 looks good - I just wish they had made it a Genesis and really invested in making the interior a bit more luxurious.
I don't do a lot of country driving but an electric car is still not more practical for me. I, and many others, don't have off street parking to facilitate overnight charging and there is a significant lack of public charging infrastructure here. Additionally, a recent survey her showed that it is more expensive to use and charge EV's from public stations than using a ICE Vehicle. The EV concept still has a long way to go to be 'more practical'
I'd consider it.
Hyundai Ioniq 6 IS a good-looking electric car!. Regarding the design of the body, the biggest (minus) in the rear is the size of the trunk (the tailgate should open from the level of the upper part of the rear window. 😮💨
Anna has driven many EV’s when she says this is one of her favorites that means a lot. The scenery is amazing. I felt like I was watching aJames Bond movie. Anna bond over Daniel Craig anytime
Hi Gus, I am a fan of Korean cars but I also think they deliver quality EVs, for some reason, still underappreciated in Europe. And now overshadowed by the Chinese. But I think this will back fire on the owners. The gorgeous southern France, never gets boring ;-) x
@@AnnaOnRoads I love the video you had last week showing all the possibilities. Technologies moving so quickly, especially battery technology with solid state coming. It’s like a computer you buy it and then two weeks later it’s obsolete but I really like that car clean .
You’re living the dream driving roads and routes like that. Not sure about the exterior styling on that Hyundai. Interior looks luxurious though.
Hi Chris, oh yes, southern France, was, is and forever will be, magnificent! It's an interesting car I think, I like the design, it's bold which means there will be lots of strong opinions. I think this is what Hyundai went for. The IONIQ 5 looks futuristic but almost understated next this this one!
If I were to change my mind about electric cars and had to pick, I prefer the 5 over the 6. I think to IONIQ 6 looks like a stretched 911. Great work Anna.
Fun fact: Insurance for the Porsche 911 is cheaper here in Germany than for a Hyundai Ioniq 6 AWD.
How is it chargeable without off-street parking?
The styling is very unique.⚡
Hello Anna, if I was on the market for a new EV , I would not consider Ioniq 6 but the BYD Seal for the design, performance and battery life... but my preference is the XIAOMI SU7, so perfect car.
Stay away from Chinese firebombs.
EV not for me but your review was great as always.
At the end of the day when it’s all said and done whether it is a 5 or 6 it’s a Hyundai
As far as my knowledge goes, this new model is, I believe, manufactured in Singapore.
For me, its design at the back is a problem in terms of boot space / shape and maybe rear headroom and cabin space too could be an issue?
The solution? Make a Sportbrake / estate version. The EV market’s short of quality estates - and there’s no doubt the Ioniq6 IS a quality car - so offering this would attract potential buyers like me, who are currently not quite convinced by that rear end!
Insurance group 41 and they depreciate very quickly.I,d give this one a miss Anna.
Here in Germany it is insurance class 29 for an Ioniq 6 AWD. A Porsche 911 is 23. 34 is the highest - Lamborghini, Ferrari etc.
"... to the French Riviera, where I belong." That got a good laugh out of me Anna.
;-) so painfully true
Sausage dinner 🌭
Anna on roads nice car you are so beautiful Anna Next time Audi PLEASE :-) 😀👍🙏
"French Riviera where you belong".. that's true
Sorry Anna, it looks like half an Easter Egg😂
Haha, I think it's one of those cars - hate it or love it! I do love it.
@@AnnaOnRoads ❤️
이뻐❤
Naughty Anna: I think you did that 0-100 launch downhill. No sausage dinner for you this time 😉. Anyway, Ioniq 5 looks good, this one doesn't.
Haha, but bear in mind, Racelogic measuring kit uses GPS to adjust when there is any down/uphill. Otherwise it would be very difficult to find a perfectly flat road.
Anna…a very fair review of a good car but for me it has one major flaw….it looks HORRIBLE!!! i am surprised that you liked the styling..it is that design to improve aerodynamics but after the masterful i5, this thing is hard to look at. They barely sell in the U.K. but i5’s are very popular! 😬😬😬😃😃😃
Genesis GV60 has a drawer glove box, around 400hp and more sillyness.
45 minutes to charge either way outside of home
Hyundai go from strength to strength with the IONIC 6. And I’m not paid to say this.
We want the PE !!!!
There is no better value than a used model 3 right now
3 years old and 60% off🤓
Sorry Anna! But I can't support environmentally destructive vehicles, everyone thinks that when they buy these cars, they think about the environment. But they don't understand how to destroy nature, when you destroy large areas of forest and land, to get access to the substance needed to make these batteries.
As now, they want to dig for this subject in a village outside my town called Vittangi, it is not a small area. But they say that the area is equivalent to 348 football pitches if I remember correctly, this affects several hundred reindeer and moose, as well as all other animals. as well as affecting the people around there but worst of all it will create a huge ugly wound in nature that will never heal. That's why I hate all these electric cars, they should concentrate on producing environmentally friendly fuel that doesn't destroy nature.
As a 58 year old petrolhead I will never consider an EV, I will leave that to the vegans and Gretha 😂
BTW great video production, and you are looking sweet and sexy as always!
I’m sorry, but that’s one ugly car. Those EVs are interesting, but they are way better looking cars out there that are electric.
EV - s are not my "cup of tea" ... But ... When this lady drives it - i do not care about that. 👠👠👁👁👄
A car that is styled after a Garden Slug ewwwwwwww 🤮
haha, well, an animal inspiration, nothing wrong with that 🤣
I will never consider an EV .
Fair enough Richard! So which car would you consider as your next?
So many ! Audi 100. BMW E30. Classic Saab 900 or even 9000. Merc W126. Opel Manta. Alfa 156. Vauxhall Cavalier. Volkswagen K70. Citroen Xantia. Lancia Delta. Porsche 944. And many others !
@@richardhowlett7398 Ok, so classics. Alfa 156 stands out right away for me, but I am an Alfa girl ;-) I could never understand the love for Citroen though, but that's just me ;-)
Everyone will be in a EV in the near future. At some point the politicians will put a greenhouse tax on gasoline thus forcing you into an EV.
Ah…well a friend has 13 cars including Aston Martin, Porsche, Bentley, Lotus, TVR, Jaguar, BMW and all high end models but he recently bought a BMW i3 S to use for local shopping and errands…he really loves it…it is totally different experience but adds rather than disappoints. EV in town makes perfect sense…and I am awaiting my new PHEV Hybrid in two weeks….but I do regular long distance trips so need both worlds! Try to rethink EV’s…I have owned many of the cars you list but when I go back to them, too often they are far from the golden memories I might have and some are, in reality…awful to go back too.🙂🙂🙂
