Saw it at the local theatre in 66, soupy made a personal appearance, the line outside the theatre went down the street and around the block, thanks for this🙏🏻📽👍🏻
In the 70's this used to be on late night in the New York area. I saw the first 20 minutes countless growing up and would occasionally get to the end of it. I was happy to see it again. It's not so funny but it's colorful and has a mad plot. It's a good cast and it's always fun to see Soupy.
@@MC-xw1pm I hung out with Soupy for about an hour in the lobby of his building in New York City around 1998, i told him i sent him a dollar back in 1965 and saw his movie Birds do it he smiled and got a kick out of what i said.Very nice guy, was so cool talking with him. Great memories.
@@MC-xw1pm Yes he was, he even went upstairs to his penthouse apartment and got me an autograph picture which he gave me for free, a totally great guy and a lasting memory.
I saw this as a kid (~10-11 yo) on TV in the early 1980s. At the time I thought it was really funny, one of my all time favourites (although I only saw it once). Perhaps this movie should be looked at like a Disney kids movie. It doesn't have canned laughter either. Most of the rubbish (hits) on TV now would really be obviously not funny if they didn't have canned laughter. Put canned laughter on this, and accept the slapstick goofball humour, and it would be up there with the best of them. Thanks for posting.
42:20. Soupy quotes an incredibly poignant scene from the film Tea And Sympathy with Deborah Kerr. The last lines in that film. When I saw it as a young man I broke down.
The movie was a box-office flop. Few people saw it on the big screen in 1966. When Soupy Sales tried to promote it during a mystery guest appearance on What’s My Line, the game show’s moderator John Charles Daly undermined the plug by making a joke about LSD. RUclips has video of Mr. Daly’s stupid joke. Search for that American TV series’ episode dated 29 May 1966. It is there.
This would be a good double feature with Skidoo, both have Groucho in them. Or maybe not, lol. BTW, Groucho is @46:07, Dean is at @1:02:42, he should have made a quit drinking joke when he sees Soupy flying! Flipper is @1:04:43.
Soupy always had an innate ability as a comedian to rarely be funny, or have any talent. The fact he had a career in show business was a mystery even back in the day.

I love that so many people have great memories of Soupy and this film!

Remember watching this as a kid on TV during the 1970s. Never saw it as funny, but it was definitely enjoyable and fun.
Not all heroes wear capes. Against all reason, have been looking for this for years!
I’m so pleased you finally found it!

This Is Way Funnier than Flubber !
Groucho Marx also made a cameo appearance in this film.
soupy rules
Boy ... pretty surprising he has bad timing here. Soupy should've been on more game shows.
Ivan Tors was the director? Who did he piss off? Soupy!
Andrew Marton is the director. Tors is the producer.
Everyone manages to embarrass themselves in this mess. What Hollywood executive gave the green light to this idiotic movie?

Wacky movie, but fun.
Wow this is terrible...
