Funny that, KPop never claimed BTS until they started gaining success and it was undeniable, despite the shade and hate thrown on them by many in that industry. BTS are the ones, who included themselves in that genre, but they also understood they had actually outgrown that KPop label, because they are actually global artists, who have impacted music in so many genres, for so many people and nations. Boracity, is at her best spitting facts as per usual lol 😂😂
Yes after they kicked army as a "joke" from kpop and started spreading misleading information about the Fandom and bangtan trying to break us but when they didn't succeed and bts made " kpop" bigger they started trying to insert bts in it so they can put their favs in the same category as them. They still hate bts and army but they know bys are the top of the chain so if you want to be relevant you have to drag bts name and army.
This is so true. In 2017 BTS were being excluded from kpop bc they were becoming “westernized”, but now the growth of BTS is being treated as the growth of the entire kpop industry
@@neb.9489 literally you will see this whole article about bts and some k groups impact on the music industry or something.. but when you really look at it you'll find that + 50% is just bts doing and the others 50% is just divided between the 50 other artists and the closest to bts has like 10% or something less they make it seem like it's a group project when it not. And the westernized thing 😭😭😭 bts literally only started singing in English in 2020 I've seen groups with English ver songs and albums and no one said anything about it they even started copying bts methods ( releasing songs on Friday, the whole teaser map, trying to attend American shows [ even if they aren't invited they just do some interviews on the red carpet then go away] ) and everyone was supporting them
His impact is more contained within Korea but outside, not even close to BTS level huge, heck not even BP level globally to be honest. Anyway feel free to contradict me.
Dude lesserafim, 50/50 and new jeans are more known (globally) than him even though they are very new to the industry... what impact is he talking about 😫
I know someone that does a lot of celebrity security in LA and his best friend has been a champ MMA fighter. Jay Park tried to insert himself in the MMA as an investor or sponsor for a fighter....everyone hated him after meeting him. He believed he was superior to everyone there. My friend won't even look at BTS and their artistry because the a hole behavior of Jay Park
That guy needs to get humbled down lol.Every other day there's a debate about BTS rapline being 'real rappers' or 'k hip hop rappers'.Khip hop fans love to do that even though it's only bts who have been recognized by renowned hip hop artists like Warren G,J Cole,Pharrell Williams (is that the correct spelling?)and many more.Whereas their faves are nowhere to be seen around these artists
@@aaaa-zu6imlmao just 2 days back khh fans were saying BTS rapper aren't legit rappers and the next day, we got a Collab from another black rapper, Latto😭😭 Like they want me to take them seriously when they think Smtm is the standard, the show that strives on stealing from black culture and has been dissed by TigerJk- just goofy as hell. Every damn time, they say things like that, we get another Collab from the actual hip-hop legends.
Exactly! I have got so much to learn from him. I can't put my words together like him. He didn't accept his top 4 so respectfully. Cuz like if it was me...I would have called him delulu on the show😭😭
Same here!! I watched boracity magazine videos. But this one is hilarious to me. 🤣🤣 Thanks, boramagz, for the very informative video. I learned a lot from your videos.
Jay park literally put J-hope on the spot 💀what was his fans expecting J-hope to say other than a respectful answer. J-hope, along with other bts members, are respectful and nice people, so even if J-hope thought that J-park shouldn’t have inserted himself in the elite 4, he wouldn’t actually have said it. Now it would have been different if it was J-hope himself who went out of his own way to mention J-park’s “impact” or effort but no he didn’t, the only reason anything abt that conversation was mentioned was cuz J-park himself brought it up to him. J-park knew what he was doing, he looked so proud asking that question💀
Watching Hobi with that guy really irked me, I don't know why Hobi chose to perform in his show, but I guess Hobi is that kind of a person who gives out free clout to nobodies😌
J-Hope is so much smarter than that egotistical narcissist. And his magnanimous personality put Jay in his place, in a polite manner. Knowing that Jay was gum stuck to the underside of one's shoe. He felt no need to embarrass him any further than he'd already embarrassed himself. He put that Jack back in the box.
Hobi gave as respectful an answer as he could to Jay Park's really embarrassing question, but he couldn't hide the look on his face when Park was rapping at another point in the show, and he out-danced Park at his own dance challenge . . . . The whole thing looked like Hobi doing Jay Park a favor out of the goodness of his heart and made Park seem more goofy and kind of pitiful.
people need to realize that acknowledging BTS' success and impact does not diminish the success and efforts of their fave. like its ok to admit they paved the way doesn't mean that your fave's success is meaningless they did their best and you as a fan of their can acknowledge it, appreciate it and celebrate it instead of trying to force everyone to believe in your own narrative and downplaying BTS' influential success
While I agree with everything you said, using the phrase "paved the way" is kinda a moot point as of now. Everyone before BTS has "paved the way". BTS didn't improve and develop out of nothing, they also had influences from senior artists. I'm not saying that they didn't achieve something great, they did. But as a korean I think of seniors "paved the way" beforehand in order for BTS to also "pave the way". So really, does that phrase have any meaning or weight at this point? I feel like this is a phrase fans like to use to feel....superior (for lack of a better word) or it feeds their own ego. Like a lyric from Epik High's (also a group who hugely influenced BTS) song, "I paved the way, for everyone else that's paving the way". There are people who paved the way before bts, and bts is also paving the way. So I guess we can say that everyone is "paving the way". Kind of like how if everyone is special, then no one is truly special because if 'special' applies to everyone, it loses is meaning.
I am by no means a fan of Taylor Swift, but I'm not about to diminish her impact. Would I rather that my favorite singers sold more albums? Yes. But I can also do math and can see the difference between who has sold more and been streamed more. I don't deny reality. I don't have to like reality to accept it
It's always weird for me when people try to cage BTS into the kpop label. They clearly started with a hip hop sound and individually the rap line always kept it. People really tend to ignore that they have clearly outgrown kpop as a "genre" (like Agust D said in his first title track)
I feel like everyone just loves calling everything with Korean lyrics KPOP lol. I remember this one Hip Hop fan once mentioned that he likes Agust D despite being a Hip Hop fan even though Agust D is literally a Hip Hop artist
I really admire RM's response to this question. He said he was 5% of BTS' success. While I think he has more impact than that...I admire his selflessness. That is Epic humility. Huge respect for that.
He said some truth to that. BTS got where they are because of the synergy of different happenings. Multiple things had to go certain way in order for that to happen. That's why there is no new BTS, even though it's visible how desperate agencies are to make next BTS. And while they all are talented, they needed to be seen and recognized as future stars first, in order to form a group. And all of them had to be different, yet have the same goal in order to keep the group running. Even now when Suga has mentioned many things that they didn't discuss about their past before (like them being asked to move out, but them refusing to and BigHit finding an investor instead of giving up, or him and RM always being at the bottom in trainee reiting, but never being asked to leave), makes one wonder how they kept going and how Bang PD still believed that he was making something huge with these boys. So in a large scale of things, it actually could be just 5% individually and 35% BTS together.
From what I understand although they were in the lower position in trainee rating clearly because it involved stuff like dancing that RM and Suga did not initially intend to be part of, BTS's existence was centred around the rap line, particularly RM. The book states how the vocal line thought they wouldn't be able to debut with the rap line which they supposed, would debut early without them. While the success of BTS can be rightfully attributed to all the members, (RM alone could definitely never be able to reach where BTS is today I guess) I think people do tend to oversee RM's contribution to the creation of such a synergy. I have seen many people including older trainees, Bang pd and the members several times repeating the significance of RM's role in creating the atmosphere wherein the members could flourish and grow individually, thereby adding to the synergy of the group. I remember an older trainee talking about how RM encouraged them to be engaged in a healthy competition instead of pulling each other down. Can you imagine the kind of mindset that the 17-18 year old RM has to say things like these to other trainees. Jungkook also happened to like a recent tiktok clip that said something in the line of how the K-pop industry is carried by RM's shoulders. While that can be considered as an expression of love for RM, I do believe there's some truth in it and it's important that people don't get triggered when these facts are said!
"The inauthentic image of k-pop actually made things harder for BTS." Exactly! BTS made it to where they are BECAUSE they ARE authentic. It's one of their biggest points of appeal and the reason many people love them so much. (it's funny because in the opposite way the kpop industry profited the most from them.. it's crazy actually.)
This is so well said!! I always tell people they are genuine original musicians and authentic to themselves as people. And their words have literally helped millions 💜
This is SO true and the hardest part of being a fan, for me. Because of the notion that K-pop is inauthentic and putting BTS in that box, when people find out I'm a fan (Army) or when I TRY to explain that they saved peoples lives, etc., my friends look at me as if I've lost my mind (when actually, I've found it! 💜)
I think Jay Park tried adding himself into the elite 4 was to boost his ego. If he was secured with himself as an artist and recognize the impact of his work to his followers, he wouldn't of tried to add himself into the category. Its kinda like giving yourself a golden medal after a race when you only made it to 5th place.
And he’s trying to get army to talk about him. Any exposure is good exposure. Noise marketing. That’s why influencers and celebrities call paparazzi on themselves or create fake drama.
He is always fishing for compliments I only watched hobi episode and mamamoo and I felt sick like dude be trying to get people to validate him every five seconds. Even 4 gen baby groups fans made fun of him because he tried to look cool in front of them in a tiktok challenge only to look ridiculous and made fun of.
He is the only Korean hip-hop artist that is actually signed under Jay Z's label and he's one of the artists who paved the way for asian-american artists too. He's definitely successful if you researched about him.
Artists like BTS, PSY, Epik High and Seo Taiji have no need to brag about their legend status because they're confident in their real achievements and their art. They have no need to compete with each other for who is better, they just work on their music and move on with their life with the impact they have, no matter how big or small. Jay Park just comes across as desperate, it's embarassing to watch. Honestly he'd have a better chance at the success he craves if he just focused on music and whatever else he does and just let the recognition come naturally. And at the end of the day, not everyone has to be some legendary superstar (in fact most people aren't, people with such a big impact like BTS are really rare) and that's also okay and not something to be ashamed of.
IDK where that clown Jay Park got the audacity from, even if we were only talking about the K-music industries, there are about a hundred other acts more relevant globally than him. PSY is far above him in that criteria, and even one-hit wonders like Momoland have had more relevance, however fleeting, than him. He's a nobody.
I'd Big Bang suits that list rather than Epik High. Although yes, EH was very loved back in late 2000's to 2010-ish. But as a korean I don't think they reached that level in kpop. However, they were at the top in the hip hop scene, and very much contributed to "paving the way" for other groups that are paving their own way. Epik High especially Tablo went through so much shit, I'd say even more than BTS. Really one of the few people that's a celebrity I would actually want in my life just for his wisdom and views in life lol.
@@Hotcheetos777there is no way you just said Epik high went through shit more than BTS i mean am not denying the fact that he went through a lot shit but not more than BTS
I'm an Army and a Faker fan but the disrespect Faker gets is crazy cuz he's still one of the only two people that won Worlds 3x (the other being his teammate Bengi) won MSI 2x, won LCK 10x (most of any Korean Player), 10 years since he started his Pro gaming career and he's still at the top of his game to this day and almost won it all again at last years Worlds but fell short, now he's recovering from an Arm Injury and I really hope he wins it all this time to further cement himself as one of the Elite 4 of Korea. Faker is one of the most popular and beloved gamer worldwide, even Kpop Idols and THEE BTS knows and respect him, Jay Park could only dream to reach a status that Faker has. EDIT: T1 HAS WON WORLDS 2023 AND FAKER HAS FURTHER CEMENTED HIS LEGACY AS THE BEST LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PLAYER IN THE WORLD BY HAVING HIS 4TH WORLDS CUP!!!!
Honestly, I'm not a gamer (I wanted to be one but my mom was hella strict so I basically could never play and later I stopped even caring). I really got myself out of anything relating to gaming also due to uni and just, never being able to play, I evaded everything. And I say this rant bcs even with all that, I heard Faker's name being said left and right among my friends who were gamers. Mind you- they were never into kpop or anything korean at the time, they only knew of BTS bcs of me but besides that, their love and admiration for Korea came from Faker. So I hope he gets wayyy more popular in gaming, ppl like Jay Park can only be brought down a notch with the other party showing their success. I fr hope Faker can keep winning, so ppl can one day acknowledge his worth. He was so nice and humble in the Run BTS episode... ppl like that deserve their success.
Yep, all of this. And similarly to the other 3 "elites" listed, people who have never paid attention to gaming have heard Faker's name - even if they don't know anything else about him, they've heard of him! You can't say that for many people.
I’m so tired of seeing people comment “I can’t wait for you to listen to ‘real k hip hop’” under videos of people reacting to a literal hip hop song from bts. It’s like….I’m an American black woman in her 30s who grew up on hip hop and last time I checked, BTS makes hip hop and consists of rappers. Are we pretending their work isn’t hip hop just because they’re in a now popular/legendary group? I’m just baffled. Nobody blatantly does that to western artists without sounding ridiculous wtf- Imagine someone in Korea listened to Brockhampton or Odd Future and somebody was like “oh, wait until you hear real American hip hop”. They’d be confused.
I think those that claim this don't actually know what 'real hip hop' is... they believe it to be some cool trend, full of swag and macho-confidence, when really it's not. They're also trying to fit into a mold that belonged to another's culture, from the way they talk, dress and attitude they're alluding. A glimpse of SMTM and you can see it, I don't think they realise how fake they're being with their own identity crisis. That's why the accusations against BTS in the early days were so rough around this stereotype. I don't want to discredit JP, I think he's really trying to make a name for himself, but when he's exaggerating his own accomplishments, that's when it gets corny. On PSick, he claimed in regards to KHH, noone has gone further than him, but nothing good came out of him signing with RocNation... no further opportunities for KHH signed or any features with reknown artists in the west. After he said that, Hobi released Cole's collab a few days later... 😂 talk about BTS karma...
They are just ignorant about BTS and there talents tbh. BTS is full package of very good vocalists and extremely talented and strong rappers and producers, with songwriters
'Real KHH' which is ironically, regurgitated beats and flows from black artists, performed by cosplayers unapologetic about their CA and racism. BTS are not 'real KHH' precisely because they're authentic artists in an industry populated by fakes and puppets.
jay park should just focus on his career rather than others for his gain. To be honest most of the Korean hip hop artists are idiots, for example show me the money
I knew it was finna be jay park 💀 but in all seriousness, you’re completely correct. The impact all these people have in their fields is incredible, and no one should try to take it from them.
Jay Park strikes me as that “pick me” person that most people don’t really like. The fact that he tries to insert himself where there’s no way he could be, screams jealousy and delusion to me. That whole interaction of him with Hobi gave me the vibe (not ft. Jimin of BTS iykyk 🤣) that he was doing his best trying to outshine Hobi and finally “prove” he was better than him. Cringe. He absolutely failed. And Hobi’s response is kind, humble but absolutely does not give the acknowledgment and approval JP is seeking. I hope JP goes to therapy one day before he falls to kanye levels of delusion.
Wasn't that the same show where he attempted to out-dance J-Hope? My man has delusions of adequacy when he's basically a Bowen Yang SNL sketch let loose in the wild. There was no correct thing that J-Hope could have said in response to JP, but he kept it respectful and honest without lying or shading him.
@@Fantastikitty the very same. Wasn’t it a bit too try hard? And you’re absolutely right about Hobi’s response. And you also got a point in that, there was no correct thing he could’ve say to JP as well that wouldn’t have been taken out of context by his followers.
I know right. Who would ask such a dumb self-serving question 🙄 like that anyway. What did he expect him to say, "Go blue, check your ignorant tail in a corner"
I must say jp got lots of guts to call himself pride of Korea with all the things he has done throughout his career and how he blatantly said that Korea is gay and how he hated it 🤦🏼♀️
BTS Rapline are Superb❤ BTS RM INDIGO at Rolling hall ❤ BTS jhope at Lollapalooza ❤ BTS Suga had his Solo tour ❤ All performance of this 3 Rapline are in history ( successful and recognized as the G.O.A.T- greatest of all time❤ BTS members Legacy will live on...
Just one word . AUTHENTICITY. BTS have an extreme love for their craft and it shows the authetic side to them. Most performers just perform because of money. I am not saying that money is not important. However, if you want to be successful, Authenticity and also uniqueness. Not the cookie cutter type of performers. Plus, majority of performers who had been well snowed and respected had been authentic and have tremendous respect for their work.
Please never stop your essays. You did it again. AWESOME. You are so right. When I saw JPark put JHOPE on the spot like that I cringed for him and Hobi’s respectful comment went way over his head. It’s bad trying to be a somebody. He ain’t there yet, only in his mind. You always bring receipts.
Dude bts are literally the sweetest I don't care what anyone says about that being a " stage person " I would've laughed in his face And outed everyone that did me wrong but them they always act like the bigger person and keep on being humble kings
J-Hope... all of BTS... are just the epitome of class. His response was truthful, eloquent, and kind. He delivered it in a way as to not embarrass or be rude to his host. Love these guys!
Every time I watch BTS, especially the hyung line answer risky questions or things that could put them on the spot, I am in awe of their media savvy. Their media training was top-notch but more than that, they are always at full awareness of their surroundings and what is being asked and how to react.
I know that BTS themselves call themselves K-pop they accept it and wear it now with pride I felt that with Suga saying he loved kpop in his documentary Road to D-Day and with RM talking about how "it works" in the context of when everything they do is labeled as k-pop example rap songs on Spotify etc. But I won't deny that it still bothers me in a way because they are legendary artists at this point, they are bigger then that. People in the states, muggles, think bts equals kpop thinking it's all the same thing when if anything bts has gone against the grain when it comes to kpop . And kpop has denied them for so long not wanted to be associated with them but now all the sudden they are riding their coattails. It just doesn't sit right with me. Army knows they are more then that but I wish it was more widely accepted among muggles at this point cuz I'm tired of them thinking it's a package deal. My sister mentioned to family when asked point blank (she looked like she wanted to run and so did I cuz it's an uncomfortable conversation where we are from most the time) "who did you guys see in concert?" she answered "Agust D" and my older sister (muggle) mentions "wait didn't you say he is also Suga from BTS?" they were like "oh wait what? K-pop!?" And I'm thinking to myself if you were at an Agust D concert you would never think that's kpop because it's just not I'm sorry. I just find it a bit ironic that bts is the face of K-pop in the States when they are somewhat the antithesis of k-pop, they actually have creative control in their art. And that because of them now new groups popping up are starting to emulate them more because of their success when before others rejected their success.
Interesting. Since Yoongi (aka Suga of BTS) using his Agust-D persona had a fabulous showing on year end Billboard charts - especially rap/hip-hop, one can say that BTS paved the way again. He also did it without disrespect to others in USA rap/hip-hop. He laid down his experiences - personal & Korean as a new dish on the table. He brought in new fans & got critical praise for his work. He smashed down doors for new listeners & others to have the same ability to succeed as him. Sadly, he took away Jay Park's self brag. By putting in the work & being true and authentic to himself. Once again proving why BTS is the elite in music for South Korea.
I’m so glad someone mention Jay Park ridiculous self claim. I was dumbfounded when he label himself “ legend”. I don’t who he is before that. Thank you 💟💪🏼💜👍🏼
There is a difference between being confident vs being cocky and Jay Park is the latter…he really appears very insecure always talks about his”accomplishments” to other people
I love your content. I love the way you so eloquently speak facts while quietly shading and putting people in their place. It's like you're calling out the industry and sometimes individuals, but sweetly. Lol. I'm so glad we have so many talented Army to stand up for BTS. Don't stop. He who shall not be named needs to sit down. Thanks!
@@boracitymagazineHey Bora! Can you please make a community post informing armies about the OneinAnARMY charity project to match the donation amount that Bighit made to the UNICEF in our names...
Some of my earliest favorites were Big Mama (who became respected professors of music after they retired), Fly to the Sky (after they turned to R &B), Wheesung, Im Jae Bum, Kim Bum Soo, Lee Sora, Lee Sun Hee, and Lee Moonsae. They're good at what they do and don't need to toot their own horn. My dad taught me that truly intelligent people don't go around bragging about how smart they are. We can see that for ourselves. The same holds true for legend status. You don't run around saying "I am Legend." unless your parents actually named you Legend. Until very recently I was only vaguely aware of the existence of BTS and the fact that the fanbase is called ARMY. I'd assumed BTS was just another K-pop boyband. Yeah, that idea went out the window real quick once I started going down the rabbit hole. I am seriously impressed by what they've achieved and excited for their future. The overwhelming majority of K-pop strikes me as plastic-y, soulless, interchangeable, flavor-of-the-month ear candy. BTS is on another level. RM's lyrics are "meaty" making me want to suss out the references, the concept of SUGA's world tour is complex (Cf. the article in Weverse Magazine, magazine.weverse.io/article/view?ref=main&lang=en&num=819), and Suchwita is a great series, Hobi established a first at Lollapalooza. Jimin's solo album is so much fun to listen to. Beyond the Story shot up to bestseller status within hours. Let's see what the rest of the year brings.
it feels surreal how I chose to fall for the group that is going to be legend and will go down in the history of music for generations to talk about. I had no idea really, 8 years ago, I saw Dope dance practice and got drawn in, there's something so unique about their music and their personality. Soon, when you get to know how real, playful, artistic they are through all the MVs, messages, storylines, Bangtan bombs, BTS gayo, Run BTS, there's simply no way out.
Bong Joon-ho has had such an impact on the film industry that he is mentioned incredibly often in my film studies class, his montages are excellently planned and executed so he is the person I looked up to most when I was writing part of my own screenplay.
Jay park needs to recognize that his international fame is also linked to fans of bts wanting to learn about Korean music. That's why most people start off listening to bts and then other groups or genres
Boracity, I had no clue about the Elite 4 list. I also didn’t know I needed this video, but I really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing this story and showing that BTS is accepted by Western Hip Hop artist because they are organic in their Love for Hip Hop. It’s not fake nor pretentious. I would encourage all to read Beyond the Story for more insight on this authenticity.
Western hip hop artist don't respect BTS bruh Any big named artist can be paid for a collab.. Its when they go outta their way for your feature that they respect you..
I need everyone to know how often TXT make fun of that song. When the world cup was happening there was a fan on weverse who said "taehyun, son heungmin is really so cool…i’m going to look at another man for just a moment" and Taehyun was like "I’ll allow it. I’ll allow it for bts, bong joonho and son heungmin"
That's so crazy to me because I only really got into K-pop & later BTS starting in 2018/19 while I've known Faker since 2014 because he's literally one of, if not THE most famous esports player in the world. If someone would've asked me to name one Korean person in 2014-2018 the only name I would've known would be Faker, so it's crazy to me that jay park tries to discredit him. But yeah, I mean we already have more than enough reasons to not support him anymore & I don't understand how anyone can like him💀
I just remember a recent interview where Jay Park said BP are the most famous artis in the music industry from South Korea and that they are a big inpact ww, are different and blablabla. And i was like 🤨😒 yes they are big, but not bigger than BTS, and that group has all those things that Jay Park critics of kpop, but i don't know he has always liked groups from YG. I admire him for what he built like his company for other artis with better contracts but in the music world he is not that big. Also even if his mom is korean he was born rised and lived in the US so his mind set is nor like most korean, besides he is full of himself.

BTS are LEGENDARY, why? cause they don't go around dissing other ppl like jp. They learnt from their mistakes, kept silent about their impact cause their achievements speaks for itself. They know they are Impactful and continue doing that rather than asking others a million times "Am I influential?" They check, ask, evaluate their progress in solitude, and then the world sees their effect. And because they never wanted to take someone's place and claim it as their own, They MADE THEMSLEVES LEGENDARY! It's a proven fact that artists like BTS are seldom to come.
Thank you for overanalyzing this because I have just not understood this controversy before your indepth video. Your background was necessary to tie the threads together for me. Thank you! Great work!
and even to these days SK have no idea about how HUGE BTS is and why? because their media payed by the Big 3 have dedicated to all these years to elevate their own groups and have their groups on media, everywhere. For that I'm so happy that finally BTS company talk about their success , with his story in their book, hopely in their next documentary too. Is good to be humble like they are but sometimes, when everyone are minimizing your unprecedent success, and impact is time to talk about your success everywhere to clear the FACTS.
What jay park did was, still and will always be childish. And to to have the audacity to deny and take out FAKER and put himself there and then on top of that to say that he is the one influencing and impacting k hiphop. When it's been BTS who had travelled to the roots of HIPHOP Literally to learn. And to learn among REAL HIP HOP artist. Be praised and respected by them. BTS RAPLINE is the ONLY k group rappers line that is known worldwide and admired. They worked alongside rappers such as WARREN G, LIL WAYNNE, SNOOP DOGG, JUICE WORLD, J COLE to name a few. They are bigger than k hiphop. AND are real HIPHOP. They broke the barrier for themselves a long time ago. They are writers who always stayed true to their roots. They worked and collaborated along side those who they admired when learning. That is called growing and influencing. Jay park thinks and talks about himself so highly while downgrading others and that is what makes him and music even more distate ful. And that is exactly what his downfall is
1000% agree with this video! Have seen several jay park interviews where he says he has been the biggest influence in Korean hip/hop/rap. While I generally like his music he needs to do some serious self reflection of his attitude and persona. Thanks again for another great video. Not to mention that he is the founder of 2 of the most well known Hip-hop labels in Korea (AOMG and H1gher Music) he is also pretty popular internationaly (of course not as much as the other 4 but if we talk about khh he is one of the most well known) if we talk about k-Hip-hop he is one of the represantatives if you like that Man or not but we cant deny that. I really dont know how long you have been interested in kpop but i have been an Army since 2017 and when i got intruduced he was pretty big and still is. He is also very well known for finding talents such as pH-1, haon, big naughty and all the others from H1gher he gives them a chance to establish and be known in the country. But i do agree with your comment about smtm because its just so toxic and the last time i watched this show was in 2019.
I certainly don't mind people who have confidence in themselves and their abilities. But this is not confidence, it's very arrogant and arrogance does not equal confidence. The reason the ELITE four are elite is because of their hard work, dedication and really the impact they are making globally, not just in Korea. I find it disheartening to see almost on a daily basis, BTS' accomplishments, success and hard work always trying to be minimized or leveled. BTS on the other hand, they always acknowledged those who came before them, they were appreciative, they showed it, they never tried to take jabs at others or shortcuts, they worked hard, worked hard and worked hard and that's why they have the dedicated fans that they do have! some people....some groups...are a legend in their own mind....nobody else's though....lol.
yups! she is indeed a queen and I am so happy we have such an intellectual and effective communicator in Army 😊 I share here video essays to help explain things too
i always love your thought out and respectful content....i wish more youtube Armys had more channels like these instead of the clickbait channels that use BTS while undermining everything they stand for. Keep going boracity, this is a channel i am happy exists
In conclusion BTS PAVED THE WAY for the korean music industry , u want to accept it or not its a fact , their impact has helped sk alot and BTS will always be relevant and will go down in history for the future generations to study
Bora, I can't with you😂😂😂. My God, I don't even want to imagine how annoyed his fans will be after seeing this video. I saw another video of a lady talking about this same thing and how he is not the most successful k rapper, and his fans did not want to agree.
He's trying to put himself in the top4 elite with bts, yet in a recent video when they asked him his favorite kpop groups he named other groups stating that no one had gone global like them. He's such a bitter fool
The fact that I have no idea who the fuck Jay Park is proof enough that he ain't shit, and won't even come close to Faker. There is a reason why BTS had a RUN BTS with T1 (Faker's team). I was watching the episode and thinking "damn the pride of South Korea in the same room". My dream is to attend a BTS concert in Korea, and watch a live game of Faker in the LCK. I knew who Faker was befoire even playing league of legends. He is the GOAT of the game, and the biggest player, anbd who made the game what it is today. He is one of elite 4, and no one can change that
1:51 i’ve been fan of faker way back 2015 (before bts, i became army on 2017) and i can tell you that’s not only the reason, he is the face of esports because of his gameplay, attitude, and contribution towards league of legends. THIS IS AMAZING VIDEO, as always (what’s come after seven?? ATE)
I think, no matter what, BTS's place in that "Elite 4" is solid. He wasn't coming after their slot, but it sounds to me like JP felt like he had to make them smaller somehow (HA!) to make room for himself.🙄His silly distinction of "k-pop" vs "k-hip-hop" is nonsense, because, honestly, has he never heard their discography? The idea that Hobi gave his blessing is equally ridiculous... Hobi was his usual extremely diplomatic self in his answer, and acknowledged JP's hard work and his callout of BTS without saying a word about whether JP's name belonged in that list, too. IMHO the person who most deserves to be PO'ed at JP's nonsense is Faker, because what JP's essentially saying is, "you and your entire industry aren't as important as I am." To which I'd say to him, "Players gon' play. Live a life, man. Good luck."
That guy will never change, his state of mind focus on himself only, he lives on his own teenie box. Please keep us updated, Boracity Seriously, I admire you so much, you are the best in relaying "Facts" only.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Jay Park just skipping over Seo Taiji and Epik High.👌 If you want K- Hip Hop royalty, its Seo Taiji, Epik High and BTS. Just look at how much they helped influence BTS. Not only their music, but with their friendships too. They are all super humble. Like you said, Legends do not call themselves Legends.
😅 well that was very direct! 😂thank you for putting him in his place! Unfortunately he is so dense that he will take this video essay as a compliment 😒🤣🤣🤣
One thing i agree wholheartedly is that legend never brag. all the people listed in the elite 4 are so humble but the one outside of the list keep bragging about their legendary-ness. make it clean and clear who is the real legend
As always, a fantastic video! It’s so funny how the others in the elite 4 have no problem acknowledging BTS’s success and impact and JP is just adding himself in there. I love how HOBI perfectly answered the question from JP. He is so classy. I don’t know how he contained his eye roll 😂😂😂e
This is spot on! Like others, before he was even mentioned I immediately thought of Jay Park. Who is he to talk about inauthenticity when he is a knock off version of the mainstream rappers he emulates? That is not to diminish his talent but I truly believe the success he so desperately wants would be more easier to come by if he himself were to be more authentic.
love how Jay Park acts like he wasn't a Kpop idol at one point. Bro, basically called himself in-authentic.😂😂😂 Also, if Jay Park wants to talk about idols who crossed over into the K-hipHop world and had an impact. Then he should mention artists like G-Dragon, CL, & Jessi who also had huge success globally.
I think epik high more influence and impact than jay park..because BTS rapline always mention epik high when talk about hip hop..never talk about jay park
I literally got i to bts bc i heard them rap and was so impressed? they are known to have one of the best (imo the best) raplines in kpop and they talk about how hard it was to be taken seriously as rappers and idols!!

He put JHope on the spot. I hope BTS wouldn't be friends with someone like Jay Park. A friend wouldn't do that to him.
Watching Hobi with that guy really irked me, I don't know why Hobi chose to perform in his show, but I guess Hobi is that kind of a person who gives out free clout to nobodies😌
wait i just understand what namjoon said in 7:02 lmaoo did he shaded jay park?
Absolutely, This is what Army's trying to tell Everyone(the other fandom), But Sadly They can't understand😔
I don't have to like reality to accept it
this is about kpop not western music@@HBoyle

@@bhaktichaudhary1797 YES 💜100%🙏
Even 4 gen baby groups fans made fun of him because he tried to look cool in front of them in a tiktok challenge only to look ridiculous and made fun of.
its a self proclaimed
It reeks of desperation
I wonder can they stage an intervention with this guy Jay Park. I mean he needs a sit down chat and a nap. 🫤
Jealousy never looks good on anyone.

FAKER has his own style and uniqueness in gaming. That's what each member of the Elite Four has...they are very unique and not copy cats.
Nice pfp fellow one piece army

J-hope is one of the humble kings (BTS) and as they say Legends dont mention themselves as legends.. Jay Park just took advantage of that 😂
J-Hope... all of BTS... are just the epitome of class. His response was truthful, eloquent, and kind. He delivered it in a way as to not embarrass or be rude to his host. Love these guys!
that section of k celebrities saying three words that match and one that doesn’t to mock jay park was hilarious
This is just so true!
like someone said kpop industry get advantage from bts but bts only get disadvantage from the industry
EXACTLY 💯💯
I completely agree with you and that makes me wonder what "kpop" means to SUGA these days
Couldn’t have said it better !!!
Thank you 💟💪🏼💜👍🏼
Yes the fact that he had to label himself says it all really doesn't it. Silly man now has egg on his face.
The funny part is that he does R&B and pop the most , his most popular song is a pop song that sounds like a JB song , he even shout out to him lol.
Thanks!
thank you so much for your support, i'll keep doing my best to make these videos for bts💜💜

It's how so many people try so hard to downplay BTS's impact. Lmao, it's no longer sad. It's funny.
If you gotta say "what about me?" You've already lost, my guys.
Western hip hop artist don't respect BTS bruh
Any big named artist can be paid for a collab..
When she first said that "someone denies this" I expected her to say someone relevant not Jay Park 😂😂
But yeah, I mean we already have more than enough reasons to not support him anymore & I don't understand how anyone can like him💀
We have to support Boracity cause she has been spitting facts
I just remember a recent interview where Jay Park said BP are the most famous artis in the music industry from South Korea and that they are a big inpact ww, are different and blablabla. And i was like 🤨😒 yes they are big, but not bigger than BTS, and that group has all those things that Jay Park critics of kpop, but i don't know he has always liked groups from YG.
I admire him for what he built like his company for other artis with better contracts but in the music world he is not that big.
Also even if his mom is korean he was born rised and lived in the US so his mind set is nor like most korean, besides he is full of himself.
The Rise of Bangtan episodes ( i think i episode 1 BP still can't ACCEPT BTS members are Globally or worldwide who paved the way specially in WESTERN music industry, HUMBLE is the key and RESPECT ❤)

Thank you! Great work!
The football (soccer) star Son Heung Min is everywhere, here in Zambia in Africa any avid soccer fan knows him.
and even to these days SK have no idea about how HUGE BTS is and why? because their media payed by the Big 3 have dedicated to all these years to elevate their own groups and have their groups on media, everywhere.
I love your perspective on whatever BTS content you are creating and love that you are not afraid to stand up to the “haters” and/or ‘disbelievers”💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Boracity, you have done it again .. very interesting video .. South Korea's elite top of the list is and should be BTS, even the other people on the elite list think so .. That guy Jay Park can't just declare himself elite, people have to think of him that way, he is actually putting himself down by declaring himself as elite .. no one has come out in support of that declaration .. thank for your hard work, well done again 👏👏👏💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

@@kkura09709 i wouldnt say recently he has been a mentor for smtm for the first time in 2014 then in 2016 and so on so i wouldnt call it recently. You can hate the man for his attitude as much as you want but he does have and had a very big impact when it comes to the k-hiphop scene (many have said so).
I can't tolerate Jay Park at all, that man is so fake and full of delusions, he needs to humble himself😒
I can't believe Jay Park thinks he could replace Faker, as someone from a whole family of gamers, I can't believe you've just done this Jay wtf
True, I'm not even a gamer yet I knew who Faker was/is.

IMHO the person who most deserves to be PO'ed at JP's nonsense is Faker, because what JP's essentially saying is, "you and your entire industry aren't as important as I am."
To which I'd say to him, "Players gon' play. Live a life, man. Good luck."
lol You are very respectful and professional then the clip at the end was the cherry on top💜

J-hope did not recognize any impact, he’s so smart for that
love how Jay Park acts like he wasn't a Kpop idol at one point. Bro, basically called himself in-authentic.😂😂😂
Also, if Jay Park wants to talk about idols who crossed over into the K-hipHop world and had an impact.
