    I have fully install this system about a year ago. It is fantastic & light years of what we had before which was a single wireless room stat with trv's. The best way I can describe this system is control, control. control!

    Great video & explanation Derek, the tado control is a great piece of technology for the heating system, its quite expensive but seems to.be the future technology for heating controls.. Amazing what gadgets they come up with.. 👍👍😀😀

    Had Tado V2 (No charge) for about 5 years on my Valiant Combi, as a frequent business traveller the Geo Fencing and learning remote database were fantastic it would know how far from home I was and turn on the heating based off current house temperature and how long it would take to heat up based of the information it had learned etc and you could see everything in real time too. Only problem was that if the internet went down it stayed in previous heating or off mode. Sadly when I had a gas boiler replaced installer yes installer blew the Tado receiver and the new pcb on boiler. Ended up once sorted with Nest, TBH only advantage that NEST has is that it holds the schedule within the unit and not dependent on home Network as uses it’s own thread network to speak to receiver. Geo Fencing with Nest is rubbish too as will only switch on as you walk through door. So yes I would recommend Tado, shame that they charge now for its best feature though.

    Why on earth have Tado removed opentherm from UK market? I really don't understand this move in year 2023 everyone wants more control and Tado remove it makes no sense

      This is what I am thinking makes no sense to remove opentherm you might as well use a Hive or anything else makes it all the same

    Regarding the electrical wiring for the 2 port valve, I understand you need to install one for the radiator and one for the UFH after the flow pipes from the boiler are tee'd off. But I'm keen to understand how these motorised valves get their power? As in, where does the black cable coming out of the motorised valve connect into? Any idea how each of these motorised valves get their power to turn on/off? For example, for the UFH, do you install one 2 port valve in the manifold area which gets its power directly from the manifold / UFH wiring control centre and turns on once the thermostat calls for heat? And to control and turn on the radiators, do you install the second 2 port valve next to the boiler so it can collect its power directly from the boiler or from the Tado wireless receiver (and therefore switch on once the Tado TRV is calls for heat)?

    I got a vaillant boiler with one circuit of the heating system for whole house. Will tado work for me to control the boiler with few wireless smart thermostats?

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  2 года назад +2

      The tado should work on the boiler and if you mean thermoelectric rad valves they will work but if you have a one pipe system with no bypass under each rad then you can’t use TRVs

    • @barteks816

      @@tomkatgastraining I've got 2 pipes under each radiator at my house (feed and return). About boiler I meant that I have just one circuit of the central heating system for all radiators, they are not separated into room-groups. Thats why Im thinking about getting into tado system.
