The praetor 500 was my favorite. What a beautiful aircraft and PERFORMANCE to boot! Was anybody else blown away by how slow the falcon 2000 was? Yes its crazy roomy which is amazing but its like a flying tour bus. Roomy but slow. Put some bigger engines on it and get it to the high 4XXkts range??
Embraer has a real winner in the Praetor line. I fully expected the 600 to be in the top slot. In fact, with full fly by wire and over a 4000 nm range, the 600 is the obvious winner in this category of mid sized biz jets. (yet it only got a bare mention during the 500 segment). It was a serious omission to this video.
I'm still gliding from being blown away by the shockingly slow speed news of the Falcon 2000!! To me, speed is a very important attribute of the plane 's characteristics, due to the fact that higher speeds, equals higher ceiling cruise, equals higher savings on the fuel consumption of any jet engine, and finally higher speeds equals faster reaching destinations!! C'mon
In fact the falcon is faster than the praetor it’s just that she is telling us different type of speed depending on the aircraft without indicating which one is use
Damn, that’s awesome! Are u still flying? Do u recommend going for more of a business charter/commercial flight career path? Or airline? I’m working on my private rn and I’m not sure where I want to go with it quite yet
Not sure what the cut off is between small and medium size private jets would be , but for small private jets i find the Pilatus PC 24 to be outstanding ! Not a pilot or anything , just from what i've seen and read ! Their all beautiful !
All are very nice aircraft. Been a Falcon fan for many years, and love the way they do everything well. For the past three years I have been working with the Legacy series, and I think they are excellent, and represent a lot of bang for the buck. I especially like the fly by wire and the many safety features it provides. The interiors are spacious, and the overall quality is very high. I agree with another commentator that the Praetor 600's range is excellent if one needs to go overseas, and yes, because it is heaver it does require more take off distance than the Praetor 500, but for normal trips the difference is small, and for most GA business airports it should not be an issue. I have flown the Lear 46 and 75, and while both are very good aircraft, the 75 is no longer in production. Excellent channel-continue the good work!
I think you got the wrong Praetor. You should have gone for the Praetor 600 its cheaper than the top two you give, yet it has a better range with 4000 nautical miles. It is still a fast jet and has the fastest in class Internet and has the optional extra of night/fog/heavy rain vision for added safety at about 22 million plus 4 million for the extras. This would have definitely been my first choice. I would have rated above all. Much faster than 2000S, the Praetor planes have extremely quiet in interiors and a quick order time frame of about 6-9 month's in some cases. The running cost of the Embraer is also middle of the road costs and deprecating.
That’s a fair point! However, when it comes to max takeoff and landing distances, the Praetor 500 takes the cake. You’ll definitely have several trade offs for each option here. I appreciate the feedback!
@@AviationFederation Maybe, but the difference is minor in my opinion. The Praetor 600 is still pretty good on take-off and landing range, yet it has a way better long range. This is much better in terms of time (which is money in the business world), in lower running costs because of the further you go whilst at ceiling height reduces fuel burn and way more payload which will reduce the cost again in transportation. These two are not really on the same level in my view, other than one is cheaper slightly. But you obviously have affection on the other for some reason.
@@AviationFederation The Praetor 500 is capable of take off in as little as 4,222 feet while the Praetor 600 requires at least 4,717 feet to get in the air. When it comes time to land the Praetor 500 can come to a full stop in just 2,086 feet. However, the Praetor 600 isn't far behind with a minimum landing distance of 2,165 feet. This is because its a heavier aircraft and has bigger payload allowance.
Great video!! congratulations!! I think the Learjet 75 and the Citation XLS+ both are excellent planes in the 20.000 pounds area (MTOW). Praetor 500 great midsize, I think close in the future very good in sales. Dassault 2000 S (out of produccion) more room and good range (3300NM), Challenger 350 fantastic plane, the icon on the supermidsize arena! Gulfstream G280 (still in production) great plane, great range (3600NM). And Praetor 600 maybe the best on the super midsize category impressive range (4000NM), great cabin class!!
Please note that "kias" refers to "knots indicated air speed" and not 'true air speed', therefore Falcon 2000 is actually faster than you said. Nice vid. Regards.
Love them all, if I had that kind of money, it'd be really tough to decide which would be my choice. It'd really depend on my companies budget for executive transportation.
Steven, The brand name may still be owned by Bombardier, but they announced that they are not going to build anymore Learjet aircraft, and the last 75 has come off the production line. Very sad new, but not unexpected. Learjet sales have been poor for quite some time, and years ago they cancelled their all new Lear 85. Hate to see the brand die, as I have 4000+ hours in the 35, 45 and 75, and they are fabulous airplanes!
Medium-size private jets indeed offer an excellent balance of range, performance, and comfort. Is there a specific medium-sized private jet that stands out as your favorite, or do you have any particular reasons for your appreciation of this category of aircraft?
Excellent video!! To all those who commented its also a personal preference for esch person which they think is best😊 AF seems like his preference is the Challenger 350 which is an excellent jet!! My personal favorite is the Praetor but honestly the Challenger 350 and Citation Longitude are the next two if I were to choose another plane😊 Thank you for the video!
The number 3 is more of my taste. Now I would like a video about maintenance, Fuel and Pilots cost for this what is particular jet that you place in third place if that's possible please send information
Just excellent with your warm soft voice and clear details my best wishes for you from beneath the pyramids Cairo Egypt, there still much to mention in this category, waiting .......
New member, video is entertaining, as well informative, planes are something beautiful to me they essentially fly like beards , how will they work in the future we shall see ...
The latitude is the biggest bang for the buck and way easier to work on than the Learjet 75 (45 with added software and winglet redesign) and the Challenger 350 (300 software and engine upgrade with redesign winglets). Not mentioned is the new Longitude by Textron. It has the best cabin altitude and most quiet cabin than all I've mentioned. The maintenance cost is cheaper of those I mentioned with the exception of maybe the latitude. I worked in the experimental department and production department of all those I listed. I have to say the Longitude is by far my favorite.
Might want to edit your video, very misleading. “The Falcon 2000S is powered by two PW308C engines producing 7,000 lbf each, allowing the 2000S to carry 4 passengers an NBAA IFR range of 3,540 nm with a max cruise speed of 482 knots.”
Great choice! The Praetor 500 is an impressive aircraft, and I'm sure you'll enjoy flying it. Safe travels and congratulations on your upcoming ownership!
missed a few like the Fenom 300E and Chesna cj3+ as these are competitors for the Learjet 75. Also Would like to understand cabin heights of all models given 6Ft is just my shoulder height. More info please
Absolutely, medium-sized private jets can offer a great balance of cost-effectiveness and comfort, especially for solo travelers on longer routes like those to Europe. They provide the right amount of space and range without being overly large. Enjoy your travels in style and convenience!
Comparisons are not valid. Topic was midsized jets, the lear is a light jet. Challenger 350 and daussault 2000S are super midsized. The latitude should have been in there somewhere. The daussault speed is way off as others have stated. It's at least a mach .8 jet
This is not midsize aircraft, it falls under the light weight aircraft which is why it is a single pilot operation if so desired.

If you got the Falcon 2000 for a drug plane the Police would think sourly a drug plane would be faster than that and leave you alone,,,,,
