- Welcome back to Chateau de Puy Vidal. In this episode, Julia bravely takes on a bed and breakfast alcohol serving training (completely in French!) which is needed for us to operate the bed and breakfast portion of Puy Vidal this summer.
Penelope finally receives her Aerial Yoga rig and recruits the family to help her set it up in a (very) visible place in the chateau.
The whole family sets off for the famously delightful Easter weekend Chateau de La Lande. You should consider hosting a residential program for French - for the entire season or for a couple of months. You could hire a a teacher from France who could give lessons and also include trips to interesting places in the region.

Maria is so gorgeous, and I’m obsessed with her hair! The Château is looking fantastic, and I’m eager to see which choices you ended up making. It was all sorts of fantasy the Château worlds of LaLande and Puy Vidal intersecting again.
There is something so mysterious that happens to me when I watch your videos; I feel happy, very happy as if I am there with you living every moment. The fact that you have chosen to experience another life outside the United States ( and doing so well as you live it) almost gave me the hope that someday I too might choose another life in another location. The Chateau that you have is far superior than la lande. Your landscape is more beautiful and your decorating is so much more elegant. I think your chateau is one of the prettiest that I have seen and I've been watching lots of chateaus.

I've been watching several Chateau channels on RUclips and I tripped across yours one day and I found myself binge watching your videos from day 1 of your channel. I have to say that I love your family dynamics, I love the progress and the future plans you have for your family as well as the Chateau as a business. I'm excited to see the remodel and the start of your summer season. I'm wondering how many acres your property is sitting on? Also, how wonderful the clouds look in France and how the sunsets/sunrises look on the clouds. No wonder I really enjoy paintings of the French landscapes and the beautiful fields and forests.
It's always a blessed weekend at LaLande during Easter. They really know how to throw a party. Your parents were so cute a the easter egg hunt. How kind of Phillip to come and give you his point of view for the renovations you are contemplating. I think his brain is on overdrive for logistically encompassing beauty with function and cohesively making them work in every day chateau life. Thanks for sharing.

He has a fascinating way of thinking things through and such an eye for detail. I remember when you allowed Stephanie to release the veiwing they did for you and thinking what a beautiful chateau and grounds. I watched the episodes of them looking for a chateau for you and then filming it all to send to you. Last, if I’m being honest, Puy Vidal and her grounds are so much more beautiful than La Lande. What a wonderful vlog and what a wonderful chateau you have!!!! One small piece of advice. The EU has strict tax laws. One of them is that, in trade, when you advertise a service delivery or a product to sell, you need to advertise it with VAT INCLUDED. You may not quote a price and then say you still need to add 10% VAT. The right thing to do is advertise the price including the VAT and if you wish you could mention that that price includes 10% VAT. Again... a wonderful vlog!!!!

@@ladyofthechateau VAT is in England(20%). France is TVA - 20% standard tax. So if you advertise a room for 100 euros, the tax should be included in that 100 euros. In Europe people won’t appreciate that your advertise something for 100 and add 20% after…
Excellent piece of advice! When I was stationed with the military and worked with NATO for almost five years in Europe, I remember how pleasantly surprised I was when I made my first purchase in Germany. I quickly discovered that the tax or VAT, as it is called, was already included in my purchase. It was nice to put the extra money, that I had calculated for the taxes, back into my wallet. 😊

I remember from a previous vlog that you were concerned about losing window if you took part of one of the large bedrooms to make a hallway or something of that nature. When the LaLande group made their tour, Philip had pointed out some windows and maybe doors that had been closed up. I don't know if any of them were in the area(s) in question; but, if they are, then restoring those windows would make up for the windows lost. I will have to go back and watch that tour vlog.
Hi Bette, we love this idea of opening windows! We are working with our Architects to find out what is allowed by the monument historic due to our chateau being listed.
@@ladyofthechateau I am thinking that if windows were there in the past, that it would be easy to get approval for restoring them. Another argument for restoring or adding would be--symmetry.

I love seeing your whole family having fun together. I thought Robert looked terrific wearing the bunny ears. You mentioned that it was a long drive to La Lande but you didn't say how long it took . Maruca did exactly what I would have done with the aerial contraption. Thank you for sharing your good times with us. : )
They did say it was a 3 hours roadtrip to drive back from Lalande to PuyVidal.

I saw your video from La Lande which I have been watching for years. Loved it and started watching your channel and now I am truly hooked. I watched every one and looking forward to the next. I would be happy just watching Troopadour run on the grounds.
i read that the wall that had those special doors in the room in which you slept in at lalande may be torn down. It is a shame that those doors would be torn out or not saved. even the molding around them should be saved. That room had so much charm around those special features.... such a shame.. in name of progress lol
There are a whole host of jobs that have been started and never finished, another great list of jobs not even started after years of promising I bet those doors are pretty safe at this rate, well unless channel 4 needs a quick project to film.

Interesting I had no idea if you serve food you need a dining license. With an ice machine learn how to thoroughly clean it once in awhile. That alone is a nice treat. Maybe strawberry margaritas? Lots of yummy crushed ice drinks. Even home made lemonade with a sprig of mint.
A lavender farm here makes a lemonade infused with lavender oils. It’s different and refreshing.

Do you follow “Le mas des poiriers “? American family owns a large “farmhouse” in Provence. Their taste and decor is devine, managed to mix French style with high end mod cons. (Even an American pot filler, which we don’t have in Europe !). One to watch for decoration ideas.

@@LomaxYearwoodthethird it is isn’t it! They are very wealthy, but made a business out of their holiday home. Now they rent it for 100k per week (fully booked!), even Obama stayed there. Goes to show if you work hard, good ideas, good marketing, and a 5* service, you can be rewarded in the end of the process. (Still jealous of that pot filler 😂).

Oh my gosh when u2 went out in the morning and troubadour was sitting on the slab u2 need a statue of the dog and a painting to go somewhere In the Chateau... A first dog and cat of the Chateau if u could get someone to paint them.. Oh a idea ur mother she draws beautifully and she could color it with her pencils or paint.. 😊

Great video but strange you don’t see Stephanie once as the hostess, I’ve watched her Easter video where she is everywhere, does she not allow herself to be filmed by others ?
she is the star turn in her eyes, they all need to be her vlog fodder but it is not reciprocated see how annoyed she is on Manor and Maker to get caught on camera. No real hospitality given either about enough food for for 15-20 people.
@@LomaxYearwoodthethird I stayed at her chateau for two nights when I was still a patron. She didn't even showed herself once, even though according to Natalia she was home. Maybe she was pissed because we went out for dinner and didn't book the dinner with her and her boyfriend.
