Splash Paints and Fire Scale Models have phenomenal products. I use pipettes to measure the clear and hardner. It helps with waste. Would be nice if the clear came in a bigger bottle.
@@olezippi fair enough. I like the Splash Paints 2K Clear, but I have been trying Fore Scale Models, if ou haven't you should give them a try, and haven't been disappointed. I like FSM 2k cause it does add in a thinner o the mix so it seems to have a better flow. Splash Paints 2k tends to be thick, although it does have a beautiful luster and it does dry smooth.
Yeah, love going to the second-hand stores. I'm on the look out for an old candy press that I can restore but I think they may be out of my pay grade. Thanks man. Yup, 20-21 psi worked out fine for me.
Laquers like splash and scale finishes dry in minutes and really do cure in about an hour. I wait an hour between primer and paint, another hour between different colors if I'm going to do stripes or 2 tone. And then an hour before clear. I could never go back from lacquers. Another tip, you can add a tiny bit of Mr. Leveling thinner and it will self level even better. Paint job looks great!
Thanks Justin. The lacquer paints do have a lot of advantages and look so nice. I'll be airbrushing more of the lacquer paint so I need to get a respirator. Any recommendations?
@@olezippi I run a 3M 6000 series respirator, I swapped the standard 6001 filters out for 60923 filters. They are a P100 grade filter that 3M's support advised would better protect against 2K clear. Better safe than sorry.
57 is looking kewl Zippi and thats a sweet find i dig old plates myself and looks like your better half scored as well😁🤩scooter😎ps have a great weekend 🤗
Clear looks nice buddy, it's cheaper in the long run to buy a quart of automotive 2K clear and harder, 😎👍
I hear ya man. I'll have to Check and see what automotive clears are out there.
She came out great. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
You bet Buddy. Thanks for watching.
Looks great!! Im gonna have to try that Splash Paint when i start airbrushing!! Thanks Zippi!

Well that turned out pretty slick. I am not a fan of the color red but when it looks like that who can argue. Splash has some great stuff.
Thanks man. Yeah, turned out pretty nice.

Yup, I kinda knew how much clear to mix up as I do the same with the acrylic paints I use.

I'm liking the license plate also Will. Yup, you gotta try Splash Paints.
It does have a depth of richness that reminds me of the lacquer paint on a ‘76 Eldorado I used to own.
It does John. The lacquers just have a different look to them. This is my go to paint for now.
I'm like you. I love going to second-hand stores to see what I can find.
That 57 looks fantastic!! I also set my compressor to 20-21psi

I need to weather my show plates for the Blumo. I was thinking of tossing them in the dirt then dullcoating them.
That'll work man. Post a video when you get done with them.
Got to try that paint one day once our Canadian dollar goes up

I'm a happy camper on how it came out. Thank dude.
Looks quite good, this 2k doesn't seem to have the thickness issues of 2ks meant for 1:1 cars.
Thanks. Yup, worked fine for me.
