Everything looks great! On the 41 with the paint issue's, how about a good wet sand- some red , grey, and black primer in several spots, re-wet sand and then add some rust holes? Maybe say the fella is doing bodywork last on his hot rod?
I'm about 8 hrs away from Pigeon Forge and probably a good thing cause I'd be going there all the time 😁 Yeah, BUC-EE'S is sure a place that needs to be on everyones bucket list. Thank's for stopping by man.
Great update Zippi. I stopped in a Buc-ees for the first time driving back to NY from Vegas in March. That was an experience. I was in there around 6am so it was pretty quiet. :) That Olds is looking pretty sweet...thanks for sharing buddy! I already won a PIF giveaway, and did mine, so I will pass on your drawing. But that is very cool for sure! Have a great week.
LOVE Pigeon Forge and LOVE Buc-ees! I seen that Willy's there too. As for your paint - try Mr muscle oven cleaner and pop it in an old plastic ice cream carton or a plastic bag. Don't breath that stuff in! Leave overnight and run under water with an old paint brush. Love your channel. Watching from Scotland. 👍🏴🇺🇸
Thanks. It's probably about the same as the Easy-Off oven cleaner and it didn't work. I appreciate ya making the trip all the way from Scotland to watch my video.
I've been using Super Clean for over 20 years to strip paint mistakes. Do not thin down with water. Let the parts sit for a good week in the detergent. It is also great for stripping model chrome. I keep an old toothbrush for scrubbing stubborn corners. Rinse off with water.
I would try soaking in 91% or higher rubbing alcohol at this point. Or just an extra coat or 2 of primer that you can do a little sanding on. Lacquer thinner is bad for model plastic. You can add me to the pay it forward please. Gotta love BucEes!
@olezippi let us know how it worked! On that under 1000 build I did, I ended up having to use a combination of things, including good old fashioned sanding it off
Hope the paint is not imbedded in the plastic. I normally use la awesome to remove paint most of the time a day or two with a stiff brush it comes off.
I don't think it is. I can feel how lumpy it is when I rub my finger over it. I may have to make a run to the Dollar Tree and pic up some of the LA Awesome and give it a try.
I live 2 hours from pigeon forge I got married there. Love it there. I have the buccee car. I got mine in Mississippi one my way to California for a road trip earlier this year
Man...if I was that close I'd be going there a lot more. That had to have been pretty special getting married there Dave. Yeah, BUC-EE'S is a trip. Thanks for watching dude.
@olezippi Christmas time is an awesome time to go when they light up Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. The car shows are awesome there. New rules for 2025 at he rod runs but they are awesome to see all the classic cars and trucks. Ruby would fit right in
@@FlashBackModelWerx Yup, they had a lot of the Christmas lights up when we were there. I like the entrance to Gatlinburg with all the lights. I'd love to take Ruby there but that is just way to much of a drive.
@olezippi I owned a 1954 Ford f100 I loved to go to the f100 nationals. Sold the truck and have not been back since. It looked like the silver cover truck on my channel
Last time my model fell in paint I put it in the purple pond and it didn't work very well. So I put some nail polish remover on a paper towel and wiped it down and it came right off. I have been using Tamiya acrylic paint in my airbrush and I know that is what you were using but I see you have been using splash paint now. Is it any harder to use than Tamiya? I would like to get on the list and have a great week!!
Thanks Link. I tried lacquer thinner and it took off most of it. The Tamiya and Splash Paints are both great products. The Splash Paints comes pre-mixed so you shake, pour, and spray.
I’ve used super clean and purple power and the rubbing alcohol works way better you can’t go wrong for the price Zippi buy two big bottles for eight dollars and in a matter of couple hours that panel fall off I’ve even stripped enamel that’s been on there for a year and it took it right off
hi Zippi... the last time i went on a coaster was in NY on the Cyclone in Coney Island... i got sick as a dog...have not been on a coaster since... try 100% IS alcohol to strip that car... please add me to your "pau it forward list"... thx 4 sharing.. vinny
Yeah, they get me kinda sick as well plus I have a fear of heights. Don't have any 100% alcohol but I did try 91% with no luck. You have been added to the list Buddy. Thanks.
@@olezippi OK. I suggested that after hearing you say the oven cleaner left the surface wet and sticky, and you could still smear it around. If it's still wet and smearing, it would seem your thinner would get you further --- even if it alone could not get the paint off. I've seen lots of guys use purple power, and have not heard anyone say they could not get enough paint off to cover it over with new primer (but I've not done it myself yet). Maybe some rubbing compound would work. I've had success with that on a 1:1 car I had that was damaged by sun heating up sand that settled on the car's fresh repaint the week after I had it repainted. I had no garage space and left home a few days, and I live in rural farm country. It's a continual problem keeping my vehicles clean that sit outside. In that one instance, the compound got all the grit out of the soft paint, and then polish restored the shine. (of course you wouldn't need to polish, in your situation)
Well...that was my thinking but what's left of the red paint is lumpy and it gums up sand paper with one swipe. It's still a work in progress get it cleaned off. Thanks Terry.
Cool update!, Zippi! Buc-ees is a must visit. Enjoy your week!
Thanks Don. BUC-EE'S is a kewl place. That was our second visit and not our last.

Thanks David. Yeah, that would look kinda kew but I think I'm going with a metallic black this time around.
Great update Zippi, thanks for sharing.
You bet Donnie. I appreciate the visit.
Great updates, brother!! I'm only about 90-100 minutes away from Pigeon Forge and have been to that Buck'ees ✌️😁

That sounds like a fun trip.

Cool as always. 🛻

Great update 👍🏿
I appreciate it Leon.
Cool video Zippi. The way the Olds looks right now if it was mine I would not clear it, Ron
Thanks Ron. I cleared it yesterday. The clear really brings out the metallic in the paint plus makes it shine like a new penny.

That 41 from Buc-ees is cool......take the one you're trying to clean the paint off and put a wild paint on with like a marble and lace
Yeah, the ole Willy's is pretty kewl. That paint job would look nice but I'm going for a Metallic black.
Love the Willys diecast. I would've bought it myself for my collection of 1/24s
Thanks Gary. The Willy's is nice.
Love it! Put JustScotty on the list please.
Thank's man. You are on the list.
Great video. (125 Rods).
Thanks man. I do appreciate it.
Could try 91% alcohol. I have seen good results from that even with lacquer. Might be worth a shot anyways. Those buccees are wild. Good stuff Zippi!
Hey Kyle. Yup....BUC-EE'S is pretty wild. Thanks for the visit dude.

Nice Buc-ee's Willys, try alcohol on the paint, the higher the percentage the better, I have some 99%
Thanks Tom. I had some 91% and it didn't work.
@olezippi I've had some Tamiya paint that was very hard to remove, ended up sanding it
ZIPPI PLAESE PUT ME DOWN STEVE FROM OHIO THAK U
I got you on the list Buddy. Thanks.
Would the paint thinner you got from Rural King help remove that gummy paint?
Thanks Ray. That's what I used to get it the way it looks now. It wouldn't take anymore off.
