I'm thinking they're either LEO, or there might be an exception for entertainment companies but I'm forgetting the specifics in the penal code. I've gone to a demo event in CA put on by a local gun shop/ indoor range and Glock, and they had a Lt. from a smaller PD in the county come by for a few hours on the first day with one of the department's F/A MP5's, and folks could put a mag through it. I grew up in the little city where the cop was based (he had actually been my school resource officer in high school) so maybe the handful of people there with me just got lucky, but they shut down half the range and we would go out, and the Lt. would instruct us on the weapon's operation and then position himself behind each shooter, presumably as a sort of brace or failsafe if someone lost control or had some kind of devious intentions. So much fun though, proud when he told me I had better control/ grouping than most of their new recruits fresh from POST. Anyway, I'm guessing something like this, though eagerly await California waking up about the benefits of allowing suppressed firearms. Just not holding my breath.
