- Purchasing, and washing my dream spec BMW E30! In this video I reveal the new car in my collection and the car you guys are about to see a whole lot of. A two tone, M Tech 2, 1990 BMW 320i imported from Japan. This is about as close to my dream spec E30 that can think of. In this first video we do a little wash to get some of the transport contamination off of the car, it wasn't filthy, but it was not clean by any means. In future videos there will be a very in-depth series of the detailing journey of this car, I will be taking it a lot further than I previously have and I can't wait to share that with you guys. It’s the details that do it for me; many people don’t appreciate the fact that you stopped the washing process to move the tripod, found focus, hit film, ran back to get the camera, resumed the cleaning and so on, this is stunning congratulations 🎉

I have a 1991 e30 M tech 2 sedan with Granitsilber Metalic (237) also from Japan. Two-toned colours were the most common colours available for m tech 2 cars from Japan since there were three two-toned colours for basic colour options. Some J spec cars still have the M tech dead pedal which is highly sought after among e30 cars including Cecotto M3. Make sure you still have this!

E30 and E36 are greatest cars ever made. I have E36 orientblau 318is coupe with hellgrau leather interior and Z3 with Bond spec. Biggest mistake in 90's was that I sold my E30 325i. Now daily drivers are Hyundai Ionic EV and Mazda CX-5 because Beemer's are too ugly nowadays. Good work with old Beemers! I salute you, Sir.

Take the spoiler and m tech trim off, make it glacier blue metallic and manual and you got exactly the very first car i´ve driven all by myself (instead of on my dads lap only steering, that would be a VW Bully T3). It was my moms and i was 14 and obviously i hadn´t ask if i could drive it lol, but it was soooo worth it.
To this day i still remember the smell specifically and get flashbacks whenever i´m sitting in one. 😅
Wouldn´t wanna miss that memory for anything! I hope you´ll have just as memorable times ahead of you with yours!

Absolute dream spec, a 2 door, MTech 2, Diamantschwarz with the bi-color package(very jdm spec), sunroof, basket weave bbs, sport seats and 6 cylinder although only the 2.0 and auto(you will be taking care of that part hehe) is a great combination and very rare aswell, excited to see where you take it

That's an extremely clean e30, low mileage too. I own an e30 325i mtech2 diamantschwartz. Rust wise, i would check battery tray (hood or truck but i think 320i have the battery located in the hood), and another major place is behind the plastic liner of the front wheel. There are plates around the foot area on both side that tend to keep moisture and destroy the floorpan.
For the mods, suspension there's bilstein struts+ h&r -35mm (or eibach) which makes the car looking decent with 15" bbs stock wheels. For pretty cheap and good for the road.
Brakes if you're gonna swap for a more powerful engine, i think you need to change the whole system. Calipers, pads, perhaps brake booster. Some cars came with abs, but i don't know how it will affect your option. I stayed with stock calipers but upgraded disc and ferodo pads. Not great, but enough for road use. I won't talk about exhaust since you're swapping.
You can upgraded antiroll bars for larger diameter, poly bushing. Stock the car is pretty spongy, especially the steering wheel and gearbox. But that's part of the car.

Thank you so much! Honestly if it’s your first time ever, and in such a forgiving colour, I would keep it super simple, a foam pad made for cutting and a product like griots fast correcting cream that cuts and polishes very well. Slow passes, keep it simple! It’s so easy to over complicate the process but it’s so unnecessary. Great results come very easily 😊
If u have the ability to goto a junkyard and get something that's painted(if u can get dark and lighter tones) so u can get a lil practice and learn how to apply proper pressure. U can even use it to learn how much pressure will burn thru.
