We are finally getting back into the normal release schedule and today we are jumping back into the world of the e30. This car is still new to me, so first things first, I want to learn even more about it. Thankfully I found a pretty cool way we can do just that. After that, we decide to tackle one of the most glaring issues in the interior ending in a much better car overall. Plus we learn a ton on the way.

WOW! I have the same interior in a 1991 318i. When I sat in it to get it oriented to put on a hauler, the leather just split at the seams. If only the dash could be fixed as easy. Great and informative video. I'm subscribed. Thanks.
I'm getting ready to do this on my TT. But I'm going to pay an upholstery shop to install the new leather. Too many sharp things for me to do the job myself. I'm bleeding a little bit just from watching your video. lol

I did the same process and bought from L seats. Safe to say getting the leather to sit nice was a big challenge. But the quality was nice and I figured it out as a 15 year old with some help on the brute force parts. I would assume mine was tougher though because my original foam was disintegrating and so I had to refoam the whole driver seat and partially refoam the passenger.
Also, hog rings are awesome, but also a pain in the ass when they don’t work how you want them to.
Also, the sun does a good job of slowly getting rid of minor wrinkles and as you sit down repeatedly it does a good job of stretching out those wrinkles too

Awesome job! Looks like your passager seat should be on the drivers side as it has the tilt release on the inside instead of near the door, not that it matters though,as you said they are coupe seats

Would the rust from the rails and mechanisms damage the new leather ? It looks like when you took it off the old leather was stained from rust
