    If Disney had a lick of sense, they would round up all of you and parade you about at Disney World! (I just finished watching Meme Mom's Snow White, and I LOVE Noelle's Merida, and yours is lovely, ....) I'm not suggesting that they kidnap you. But, a families included and getting to ride a parade float and photos in the castle....it would be lovely!

    In 1976 I wore my mothers 1953 wedding gown. Complete with hoops a la Scarlett O’Hara. The gown was made of cotton organdie, had a very full skirt with several embroidered flounces. It had about 50 tiny covered buttons up the back that weren’t sewn on top of a zipper-they were working buttons. Being economically minded, rather than send the dress to the cleaners after being stored in the cedar chest for many years, Mom was brave and tossed the dress into the washing machine in cold water and let it hang to dry. My mother HATED ironing so it was a Labor of love for her to starch and iron that dress but she did it. So, to make a long story even longer, yes, cotton organdie is stiff and crunchy. Oh, I DID have an 18 inch waist in that dress (long-line bra).

    I know a lot of people aren't fans of 1830's sleeves, but I absolutely love them and I think the style suits you so well! And as a bonus, I adore how big tie-on pockets can be in that era. So convenient!

  • @cincocats320

    Cutting always takes longer than it seems like it should. I really love the effect you got layering/ruching the organza on the bodice. If Disney ever sees this they will finally understand why thelive action dress was SUCH a disappointment to so many people. Yours is truly the fairy tale dress brought to life.

    Favorite Disney Princess? No, I'm afraid I like the Queens (and it's surprising how many there are!) My favorite Queens are Queen Leah, Queen Elinor, and of course, the unforgettable Queen Grimhilde. If you look at Grimhilde's clothes, it soon becomes clear that her concerns over her looks stem from the fact that NONE of the purples in her outfit match. If only there had been enough of one shade of purple, maybe we wouldn't have to be asking a mirror how we look every five minutes! Your dress came out WONDERFULLY! The removable roses are a nice touch.

    I like the stacked magnet trick to cut SA. Unfortunately, I hate it when my scissors become magnetized...more risk to accidently cut on a pin that has quietly stuck itself to the blades. This is the same reason I don't prefer a magnet pin collector. The trick, however, is very clever.

    • @johannageisel5390
      @johannageisel5390 3 года назад

      You could cut a piece of cardboard with the length of your SA width and stick it to your scissors with adhesive tape or another kind of adhesive (the gum-type for example).

    I’m surprised how much your bookshelf looks like my Kindle library. You have excellent taste in literature, Madame! Great job on the Belle gown!!! I love all the little details, like the piping, the ruching of the organza...there’s a lot of depth going on there!
    As a kid, none of the Disney princesses appealed... self-rescuing princesses weren’t a thing at Disney, yet. As an adult, I love Belle’s bookworm-ish nature, but Merida and Mulan are more my style, sort of. Which Disney “princess” is the most tomboyish and self sufficient? That would be my heroine.

    The minute I saw you in that dress something wasn’t right.. I didn’t see you as Belle but I DID see you as the fairy Godmother. I always loved that character and I hate how the movies have always made her look old and over the top. Would you consider making a gown for a young and genuinely good and kind fairy godmother, with all that entails?
    The glitter, the good aspect (which you have in droves(?) is this the word?) and maybe incorporate the myths around benevolent fairies (are there good fairy myths?).
    Every time you smile, I’m like: she’s going to make a dress and send someone to the ball.. and she has such a kind smile.. that’s how I realized you’re a fairy Godmother. ❤️🇮🇱

    To me the first cut into material is also the most daunting thing. I get the sweats and my heart starts pounding. 😓😓😓

    You're right, this design is perfect for Belle *__* And you always seem to find the perfect fabric for your projects!
    Your video did transport me right into that story - I need to go find a copy of TB&TB somewhere asap :)
