    Filmed with my iPhone not my usual 4K camcorder.
    My first time flying from Newcastle Airport, just on a domestic hop down to London Heathrow filmed on May 31st 2021.
    Take Off from Newcastle's RWY07 towards the coast before doing a right turn to take us directly over the Tyne & the city centre as we climb up to cruising height for the short flight to London. Pretty clear views of the city, Newcastle Central station, the Quayside area, Millennium Bridge and more.
    This was actually a Gatwick based A320, registration G-GATU which is somewhat unusual to Heathrow, but the interior is identical.
    I wasn't actually planning on filming during this flight, but with the weather being so clear I decided to get my phone out and get a video of the take off & the landing into Heathrow. Check out the landing video, which includes a rare catch of a 40 year Algerian Hercules taking off from Heathrow!
    Thanks for watching! Check out my many other aviation videos, as well as the landing at LHR on my channel.

    Wonderful to see my hometown while I've been away for over 2 years now. About 4:04 is where I was raised my entire life - Killingworth.

    I love how I can still hear the engine sound through the flight attendant’s radio

      Yes the sound in front of the engine compared to behind is very different. In front of it you can actually hear it, which is why I usually try and sit in front of the wing. Whereas behind it all you can hear is the blast as such. Not the engine itself

    You can tell by the red cones that this is one of the non EU registered aircraft, this is most likely a G-GAT or something

    I didn’t know that a320 planes have soundaktor like modern cars have. You can hear it clearly at 2:58.

    There is only one runway at Newcastle. Why keep changing the number.

    • @martinc3918
      @martinc3918 3 месяца назад +2

      Runway designations are based it's direction. The runway at Newcastle roughly runs north east to south west. Departing or landing at the terminal end, direction is 070 degrees, therefore its Runway 07. Departing or landing at the opposite end you are heading 252, therefore its Runway 25.

    For any fellow Americans, Newcastle people are known as Jorbees. They are very fond of soccer ball and I think their team are sponsored by the the meat industry. I had a friend from Newcastle and he told me they called their team the Mag Pies and their stadium name is St James Pork, which I presume is the sponsor.
