I like the no-nonsense way everything is described, and I think it's worthwhile keeping a list of all these little tricks handy for when you're fluffing things up at the end. I just used the reverse reverb trick on the vox of a rock track using Cakewalk; works so well to add just a little extra interest.
Why hasn't this channel blown up yet???🤔Anyways thanks Ethan for the informative video as always, i just finished your video on music production for beginners and music theory, and instantly subbed
You're content is so good honestly. Might've known a couple of these already, but even still very nice to get 'em refreshed, and for someone coming into this not knowing any of these? Total gamechanger tips, all of them.
It might help to make chapters for each tip. So that that people can skip the ones they already know. RUclips doesn’t consider chapter skipping as bad as it does normal skipping on a video.
Great tips Ethan , just booting up live again after 4 years away from studio so picking it up again . Forgot a lot of stuff so these tips are refreshing . Great work 🤘❤️
The vocal duplicate-reverb trick is great, might use it soon, feels like automation pushed further, thanks for that! Also, on tip n°8 the synth sound sounds so good, is it a preset of yours? Can we find it somewhere? (instrument rack called "Ghost Whistle2", with a Serum preset called "CH poly sine smooth")
CH poly sine is a preset from Oliver that's available on splice! That with the redux effect on it is the sound. If you have serum and splice you can remake it pretty easily!
Hey Ethan So dope to see you doing these! Remember meeting you randomly in a parking lot in orange county after a show and geeking out over your work as candyland. Anyway hope youre good brotha much love
Most useful RUclipsr when it comes to using DAWs and audio design. Couldn't have figured out how to make my dreams a reality without you. Thanks for helping me learn!
you're one of the best people i've found on this platform that teaches really cool stuff about music production. I really appreciate your content, it's been a massive help already
Great video, dumb question …won’t duping vocal and dousing it with verb cause phasing because it’s a duplicate? Or do you print it with the reverb on it so that it’s different thus not creating phase?
I'm about to apply 2 or 3 of your songs to my Spotify! Sheesh!!! Superb tips too! Thought these were going to be mad generic like all these other videos. Thanks for uploading. I'm subscribing btw
hahah that's how a lot of people are! and im always surprised. it feels so good to take initiative and make progress on your own and they miss out on that
@@i.am.arcana i used a VST called Massive with just a square wave, a lowpass filter, and come light distortion. you could basically use any square wave with a little distortion then just EQ out the high end
sup guys,I wanna be musician and now i m in searching online daw. I found one, this is Amped Studio, is someone hear something about this online daw ? I need to write a music in a browser, and for me i think is the best product, what do you think ?
The reverb trick kinda is kinda masked by the long reverb your using on your vox send also to if you want your last chorus to be bigger why not like add extensions to your chords or extra harmonies that add more harmonic content and not just reinforce what’s already there(which is what your doing harmony wise with the strings)
Jon Bellion has bitcrushing all over his drums in the first couple mixtapes, you nailed that technique
Another Jon Bellion fan 🙌🏾

love that!
I’ve had that same IKEA reed lamp for over twenty years. I’m amazed at how that product has remained on the shelf over the decades
oh no way! hahah a friend gave them to me and I havent been able to figure out where they're from lol thank you
Haha thought same I have it
I really enjoy your style of explaining. It is hard to be nice and thorough without being condescending, you hit the mark every time.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for sharing these. Just a tip: time stamps would make your videos even better so we can skip the parts we’re not interested in.
There’s chapters so you can skip around! :3
Always gotta cry about something
The editing at the beginning of the video was so fast it gave me whiplash
Why hasn't this channel blown up yet???🤔Anyways thanks Ethan for the informative video as always, i just finished your video on music production for beginners and music theory, and instantly subbed
Man, this video rocks! Super fun tips!
Are you kidding me this is awesome, so much knowledge. Showing your actual songs as examples is so cool and helps so much!
I like to gate the vocal coming into the reverb, which creates punchy reverb that doesn’t cloud the tails
Liked it from 1 to 9, all very musical and inspiring.

Do you have a video on warping out longer sections or full tracks which were recorded on tape? I'd like to see that if not.
I've gotten lazy and havent done the reverse reverb trick, thanks for reminding me, its so effective 🐲
You are the best person ive come across in the learning phase of my music production thank you so much ❤
Omg love these tips :) Thanks so much!
Dope tutorial, thanks bro. Now I’m bumping ‘haunt me’ and checking out more from your artist project ‘Earth 2 Ethan’🔥
wooo, thanks for listening!
Dude I’m
Just getting back into music and found your channel. It’s great man. Thank you
dope tips , i gotta try them soon
I am just starting to produce my own music and your channel is soooo helpful! Thank you! Also, cool music!

that is something i do need to do ive just been focusing on making new videos!
WOW!! So much goodness in this tutorial - I've always wondered how people get the reverse audio effect. Thanks!!
Thank you. I’m back from a hiatus from making music/producing and I think a lot of this is what I needed and what I’ve been hoping to learn. Thanks!
Good job man! Very clear, focused, and handy tips without your mid-life crisis, mother in law, or other intrusions some do!
Love this bro thank you and do you have any tips for singing harmonies ?
Great tips Ethan , just booting up live again after 4 years away from studio so picking it up again . Forgot a lot of stuff so these tips are refreshing . Great work 🤘❤️
very nice video also how did you make that ghost whistle pad
11:50 Could anyone help me create the "ghost whistle" sound he mentions here? or maybe a sound library I could find it in?
It's a Serum preset called CH Poly Sine Smooth from Splice. It's in an Oliver pack.

This video got me excited to go into the studio today 🎉
Thank you, any video coming out on sound selection?
would be interested in how to do sound design for videos
Great video as always, thanks for the effort you go to, to help us less experienced. Much appreciated on my end! 👏
Doesnt haas effect cause tons of phasing issues? Those sounds can simply vanish in certain listening setups.
I've heard that, but I've never actually noticed that on anything I've used the effect on! I haven't had any problems in 10 years of using it.
@@CompleteProducerI had it once. After analog mastering, I don't know what in world these guys' processors were, one sound one was half vanished. 😳
Loved watching the video though. Good content!
This is awesome man! The information, the vibe..everything. Thank you!
Love this distortion trick in „Melting“
Ooo good catch. Yes!

wow thanks so much!
What a great video full of so many cool tips. Really glad you made this.
thank you!
Entertaining and informative as always. Really appreciate the effort! Keep up the good work, Ethan!
Great video, dumb question …won’t duping vocal and dousing it with verb cause phasing because it’s a duplicate? Or do you print it with the reverb on it so that it’s different thus not creating phase?
If the signal of the duplicated vocal is 100% wet for the reverb you shouldn't have any phasing issues!
Thanks for sharing these tips!
the song section at 1:09 sounds so much like a section from an ariana grande song i love it 😍😍
Great stuff. New subscriber here. Just wondering, the reverb on the Words, is it 100% wet?
really great ideas ethan. thx 4 sharing
Awesome video!
Thanks so much man! You’re so genuine and cool! Looks like you’re making the best of life!
Thanks bro. Excellent information
Thanks for these tips. Greetings from Canada. Have a nice day.

Gives me some self confidence that I knew pretty much all of these

Do you teach music production one to one?
love it
heyyyyyy when you releasing 'haunt me'
it's out under the name Earth 2 Ethan!
@@CompleteProducer thank you, King. Can I ask what you used for the thicc bass that comes in on the chorus?
@@i.am.arcana i used a VST called Massive with just a square wave, a lowpass filter, and come light distortion. you could basically use any square wave with a little distortion then just EQ out the high end
siiiiiick thank you!! @@CompleteProducer
cool video - what kontakt library are you using for strings?
I've been using Session Strings. But if you're just doing the "one long note" thing you can find a lot of long single notes on Splice!
u can press R 2 reverse easy and quick in ableton
Using your voice as a pad soo Kewl!
…This guy is good

I’m really not trying to sound like an a hole here but these are more so post-production/mixing things and not so much sound design
I’d more so name this “Production Tricks”
