Nice review - set up fine for anyone who want's to get into the SxS ride, work or play, people are bias over brands - just like their beer, everyone has their say. Research and reviews decides your purchase and only people who abuse the ride have bad things to say about them. Cheers and stay safe
Thank you for this video. Once again you've helped us decide what machine we are going to buy. Although we've owned and enjoyed Polaris machines for many years. And we've wanted a General ever since they first came out, back in 2016! But they've always been just out of our price range. Finally though, after saving a little bit more money to get a General? Yamaha came out with the Rmax2! And although we are STILL huge General fans? We decided to go for the Yamaha. Not because we think one is all that much better than the other but, because of the price tag. For Us to get the bigger tires, and some of the other things we would have wanted on the Polaris? There was a HUGE price difference! And nothing in the Polaris that we believe should have made the prices so different. Maybe we will regret our decision? Maybe not...Only time will answer that. I DID also enjoy your latest Sportsman570 video! I've been thinking about getting another ATV this year, and prior to your video? I wouldn't have bothered to look at a 570! Because I bought one a few years ago, and that engine breaking almost threw me over the front of the machine! So I sold it right away. It also had a horrible power surge issue! But, now I'm going to look at the 570's again. Thanks so much Fella's! Happy, and very safe New year to You, Your loved ones, and to all your fans!
We researched what machine we wanted to buy for more than 6 months. The Polaris General has not disappointed. We especially love the big dump bed it provides that is plenty of space to load our cooler and chairs. Check out some of the rides we have been on at our channel. Polaris beat out the Canam Commander and Honda Pioneer.....seriously you cannot go wrong with the General!!!
The one subject often overlooked about SxS is ergonomics. Seating position, distance to steering wheel, leg room. I really dislike being upright and cramped into a seat, which I find is the case with all of these machines with the exception of the X3 and some of the more utility side by sides. The issue with utility is bench seating and again, too upright with no sport function. Because of the lack of ergonomics that suit me, I remain searching for a unit that I can stretch into and recline a bit. It is frustrating as heck. I like the look of the camo pursuit General, which is had a reclining seat with a telescoping steering wheel and plenty of leg room, especially dead peddle. Dislike the knee being up.
Looking to buy a Popo. I've never own one but drive a few atv. I start riding with a Yamaha champ 100 1987! And work my way up...Blaster, trx250r, quadracer 250, Banshee, LTZ400, trx700xx, outlander xxc 1k, renegade 1k xxc is my present ride. Getting older I want comfort but by no means I want an expedition! 1- I dont need a dump bed. 2- I like quick steering 3- I need comfort of the suspension. Should I buy: a trail s, a general xp or the new 2024 xp sport I'm to wide to fit in a can am and I dont want an x3. Now the question that will kill everything I've mention before... Should I try an Rmax?😅
Had one of these on order since September 2021 - My dealership told me they would have one in a couple months - then, December, January, oh next month! Then in March they told me maybe in April 2022..... So April came - dealership called and said hey! good news we can get the machine for you, but....... You wont get it until late fall or winter and price has gone up by nearly $3,000.......... Told them to keep it, I refuse to pay for greed - not paying these ridiculous prices. Nice unit though but not nice enough.
What I would like to see is the ease of maintenance between all competitors. Every day practical stuff. Why a vehicle with a dump bed gives great access to the rear diff, where is the oil filter on a Commander. People wanna save $$$ doing their own maintenance, show us that stuff. What machines stand up better? The new guys coming on to the scene are cheaper, but are they? When they only last 2 months. Sorry, but just alittle tired of the colours and shiny plastics being marketed, wanna hear more of the knitty gritty.
Don't find anything wrong with the seating position in the General. Never liked the seating position in the Commander, but I am pretty sure the newly updated version addresses that.
Love the generals and this was a great vid, hey Luke you guys should consider doing a video on the Polaris rzr trails and rocks edition i think it would be interesting🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
So..... Guys are we saying the 2021 Polaris General or the RMax takes top for the 4 seat models? Or are they just too close and its completely subjective eye of the beholder?
The General is quite a bit longer than the RMAX. Both good vehicles and you're going to get some varying opinions around here. I got a lot of time in the General this year and really loved it.
The rmx 4 has a 2000 lb towing capacity and a 600 lb cargo capacity no dump bed though but in all honesty who's hauling stuff in their general or rmax and dumping cargo those logs he dumped out could have been easily thrown out by hand maybe if you're hauling some shale around or mulch it might be easier to dump
Disappointing. Too many of these videos showcase the XP + models. How about a video or two for those of us not planning on spending $25k on one of these machines?
I'm just jumping from ship to ship fml i dont no what I realy want this or the max or canam 🤷♂️ smh , yup guna have to max the miles to prove what is best I guess
Got an rmax, and it smashes the other two not even close. I ride with a rzr 1000, and it's faster in the woods and smoother. Ridden in both many times. I think these youtube reviewers are scared to lose dealership loaners by telling the absolute truth.
Like Polaris for its looks and amazing accessories, by far the best , not so for reliability and maintenance, wheel bearings and unreliable clutch etc , now that Yamaha has the Max definitely will look into it further to bad they lag behind in accessories, why release a new model and can’t get the accessories you want ? Frustrating
Patiently waiting for a head to head with the rmax
Same here
We all are
Me too
Yes to this and the vs xtp
Same here
Took two generals out yesterday for a full day of ripping around and climbing summits. Maybe 10$ in premium fuel.. what a great cheap day
Yamaha is so good at they’re build quality and reliability that it’s a no brainer !!! 😎

So I usually wait for the full episode but as the General is by and far my favorite SxS... I had to take an early peek... still my favorite..
Just ordered my General Deluxe today! After watching this video I’m even more pumped to get it!
Me too now the waiting game
Just get out and enjoy what you have. Had a crazy fun time in my xp today. Not hating anyone.
Witt daddy.
Amen to that mario t!

The General is Sweet looking haven a hard time deciding on ether Rmax or General owned two Polaris in the past didn't have good luck with them.

I look for the general or rmax but i want the one with the most plush suspension and more quiet ride .... which one? Thanks
They definitely need to come out with a turbo version.
2021 Can-Am commander vs 2021 Polaris General is a comparison I’m interested in right now.
Also the Rmax would like to see all Three in a head to head.
The head to head will determine which on ill buy, im excited
We ordered ours! Can't wait!!!
Good luck I ordered mine a month ago
my previous General left me stranded in the woods on more than 1 occasion with overheating issues. never again!
Does this have a hold back system for when your going down steep hills ?

You guys already know who’s the best Yamaha baby lol

Ordered one yesterday
Would love to see you compare the max 4 seater the commander and the general
Yes but is the seating position still as annoyingly upright as the previous model?

Yamaha with a 10 year belt warranty, or a Polaris waiting to catch fire. 🤔😂
I love the Generals

@@dirttraxtv Thanks. it a tough one. I do love that Belt warranty on the RMAX. Love the comfort and the included options on General. pros n cons

Whats the competition? You fail to mention this?
Are you guys gonnna do a more in depth ride review on this??
The front end desperately needs a redesign. Take a queue from the RMAX.
The incoming ad was for a lawsuit against polaris. Kinda shadey on youtube.
When is the truth shady?
Beautiful machine, to me one of the nicest looking. To bad it's made by Polaris 😒
yeah seriously, i had a Polaris and hated it, they do look good tho
Agreed, had a rzr xp, won't be buying another
After 5 years the Yamaha will be a lot less of a headache to maintain
@@northerntoyota7584 do Polaris's last that long...
@@kenp4464 I doubt it. Polaris needs to step up. Qualitywise they aren't as bad as Can Am, but there gettin pretty damn close.
This company is renowned for huge recalls annually and poor product sourcing... would never spend so much on such cheap production value.
I’m surprised they didn’t make you sign a NDA working there.

Get an RMAX. Trust me way more reliable 100% guarantee

Polaris is the most unreliable brand I’ve ever had or rode with, nice looking, nice accessory’s, but should come with a tow strap to get back home
TURBO GENERAL
Look for a Northstar General first.
Wheelbase is too short flips over on steep hills wheel bearings no good clutch no good
Let’s go
YAMAHA RMAX IS A BETTER UNIT
You know from experience?
I do
I was the 100th like. What do I win!? A General.....?
😳😲😳😲
Seems like u only review yamaha and polaris. Pretty bias too me
That's because a Can Am wouldn't last a whole review 😉
Great! More junk from polaris
❤🇹🇷
Woow woow 😍💋 💝💖❤️
Junk
second comment lets go
Polaris is junk YAMAHA WOLVERINE RMAX IS THE BEST AND ITS NOT CLOSE.
