    The colours in the lakes are from mica in the water, aka very finely ground-up rock from glacial movement suspended in the water and the sky being reflected by it. We have those kind of beautiful lakes here in New Zealand 😊

    The water is turquoise in Banff because of the minerals that are in the rock. At least that’s what one of the rangers told us. I have similar pictures and was blown away by the turquoise color.!!

    Always take a personal locator beacon when out. A fall or other serious problem will get you rescued when you have a PLB. Some have 2-way texting. I carry my SPOT everywhere, out.
