IMHO John. You can't beat a 'live match' from a natural venue. Hope you get chance to do more. Being a Yorkshiremam enjoyed your Northern River Masters Qualifier videos and congratulations on winning Summer Series.
Thanks CeeDee, I'll be making as many as time permits - I might have managed some earlier but due to qualifying on the Don, I decided to stay local over the summer and fish the YDAA . it's taking a long time to get to through the red tape to obtain filming permit but close now👍 I'll film what I can when I can.
Yes it would seem most of the Trent fished badly on Saturday talking to anglers who were fishing other stretches. I understand it fished quite well at Gunthorpe though.
Hi John, so good to see you back again you have been sorely missed. Good result on the day your still top of the league lets hope your draw luck holds out. look after yourself mate Tight lines.
Seems lots of people are having trouble with the hot weather affecting their camera's, so thanks for what you got, we need more river fishing on You tube. Cheers.
Hi John glad to see you back was wounding what had happened to you love wachting your video see the clip with Nosh really wished I lived up your way they seem to really love their fishing anyway I keep a look out for more great videos 👍
Nosh is a lovely bloke and he likes to wind Woody up so any opportunity he's into me to rib him. I've never met Dave but he knows, as do I, it's all good banter. Thanks for watching, 👍
Drawing arm working well John.Shame about the weather, cost you a good few fish.Definately would have won it mate.4th oa.keeps you tops.Well done.Great to see you filming again.🤩🤩🎥🎬
Welcome back buddy ' like my pocket bugger all in it , heat ' pike ' you played the hand you had , bit of a sod though you must have fancied that end peg but you can only catch what's there , congratulations on the river masters qualifying by the way we'll done . 👍
Thanks Martin 👍Yeah absolutely fancied the end peg, made the mistake of fishing groundbait feeder, should have used the blockend maggot feeder from the off. 2nd mistake was feeding too far out for the bolo, unable to fish it effectively when the wind got up later in the match. 3rd mistake was not feeding hemp and tares along with heavy amounts of maggot down the inside from the off. Couldn't do anything about the pike or the wind but mental notes made, not sure when I'll next get to fish a Trent match though, probably next season.🤷♂️
Great to see you back John, miseed your videos and im delighted your issues have cleared enough to get you back to doing what you love. These videos are brilliantly presented, its basically like a TV programme, and who knows, i might see you at Elvington or on the A&C someday. Also, i don't mind you cutting down the videos, they're still excellent to watch.
Not currently a Hull member but have been, I just don't get enough use out of books, I've got York and Leeds books this year and don't get time to visit all their waters.
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel Ah right, well you've had a very tough year so that's understandable. I'm struggling to find time too, a very close relative who I almost always go out with has been diagnosed with a heart condition, so trips are more difficult sadly. We still try most weekends though as it's good to be out. I've just bought the 8m Acolyte whip so this weekend will be a test of my new kit on the A&C. It's getting to the time where above the Weir at Sutton and the Hull start fishing well so even in a dark glum season of winter there's something to look forward to. Nice talking to you and as I have already said it's great to see you back on RUclips.
The 8m Acolyte is a great bit of kit, I love mine. I have the 10m too but it's a totally different kettle of fish excuse the punn. Hope you and your relative get to enjoy the autumn/winter fishing we have on offer. I'll definitely be having a trip to the Hull at some point, this season and am on the A&C at Pollington in 3 weeks time.
Thank you, I've been out quite a bit, just had a lot of challenges either with permissions to film or having time to edit them along with a few health issues. Once you get out of it, it's hard to motivate yourself to get back into it, I was just enjoying my fishing without the cameras but I feel ready to share my experiences again now.
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel I understand exactly what you mean John,it’s been a very challenging year for me as well mate. You take care mate and hopefully see you on the bank soon 👍
I pull the right rod right back before it hits the clip, this gives enough free line to get a slight bow. I also fish 0.1 braid mainline with a shock leader so there's little resistance. If you waited to feed a bow out, the dace would have smashed your bait up before you got chance to put the bail arm on when fishing maggot.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 About time you were back on camera John lad unlucky on the day bud nothing you can do about the weather bud Better fishing than being at work like I were 🥵🥵🥵 Keep them cuming when you get time 👍👍👍
Good to see you back - have missed your vids

Tough river when it's clear and the weather is hot. Good to have you back and glad you're better.

How are you fishing to a clip in a moving river like the Trent? To get the best out of it you need a bow in the line.

It's always hard there when the sun's beaming and there's no colour in the water.
Absolutely, it couldn't have been a worse day really.
