Dior Sauvage Elixir is a masterpiece. I see some people complain that its an old man scent. Y'all need to take a break from your vanilla candy fragrances, and let your nose smell more masculine scents, so you can appreciate the great scents this category has to offer. Sauvage Elixir is by no means an old man scent, its a real masculine man scent. To me its easily in my top 3 fragrances ever.
Yeah that was a shock to me. I don't get "old man" vibes at all. Even from like a Tom Ford Grey Vetiver that's kinda "old man" I think it's sophisticated and timeless.
They’re similar but absolu Aventus has a lighter sweetness to it, isn’t as cloying and thick, and is infinitely more wearable in most situations. I’ve worn elixir and I’ve had girls go “woah holy cologne someone smells wayyy to strong” off of only 1 spray. And I wore absolu Aventus around the same people and had a girl go “oooo you smell like a MAN”. So it definitely pulls great reactions like the regular aventus But it’s not just dumbed down to simply layering Aventus and elixir. I’m not saying it’s worth the $500+ but it’s an amazing fragrance that I’m so glad I got a chance to get a bottle.
@@wannabegolfin24-72I’ve gotten compliments wearing Sauvage elixir, although the only time I was told I smelled too repulsive was when I wore it on a warm spring day. Which was a mistake. As it’s a fall and winter scent. Creed Absolu Aventus is lighter than Sauvage elixir, so yeah it definitely is more wearable
I own and love both of this fragrances. And they are not at all alike. Two completely different fragrances. And the longlivety for both new batches of aventus and absolu aventus are awsome. Dont know how People say they doesen't last 😂
Just got a compliment from a stranger at the 8 hour mark with Aventus Absolu. I’m really impressed with the longevity. Perhaps you’re experiencing olfactive fatigue?
I do see your point in terms of longevity and projection when it comes to those two. And you’d be right. Sauvage Elixir is a monster unlike Absolu Aventus. But that’s due to the concentration. An Elixir is much longer lasting than an EDP, which is what Absolu Aventus is. Do I like both fragrances? Absolutely but I will admit. I like Absolu Aventus more because it’s way more wearable and it won’t choke up an entire room. It’s projection is about 2 feet and longevity for me, I have good skin chemistry, so I’d say it’s about 6-7 hours, but 5 hours does sound about right for Aventus as a whole. But boi Sauvage Elixir is definitely the winner when it comes to longevity and overall performance. That stuff lasts a whole day on my skin and a full week on my jacket. It’s no joke. Now I will agree 100% than if you have the original Aventus, then just stick with that, because all Absolu Aventus is, is a more spicier version. The only negative is that it’s $500 a bottle. So yes Sauvage Elixir is more worth it than Absolu Aventus. You can’t beat $180 to $250. Sauvage just gives you more of what you want. Not hating on Absolu as I do prefer it more, but it’s definitely not worth $500. I’d say $200 at least. Maybe $300, but definitely not $500.
No one wants a cologne that lasts more than 12 hours!! Absolue is for special occasions! If you want to turn heads for about 5-6 hours then absolue is for you!! Its not a cologne you wear every day! Use the dior if that’s your goal 🤷🏾♂️
So if one owns both regular Aventus and Sauvage Elixir, do you suppose layering the two could get in the ballpark of Absolu Aventus? Maybe just a half spray of Elixir and a full spray of Aventus on top? I absolutely fell in love with the scent of the new Aventus but not the price 😭 We need a solution because it truly is an awesome scent.
They sell Sauvage Elixir in a 100ml now. Most of my collection is the full size bottles bc I’m just an OCD dummy that likes to waste my money but this is one I don’t think I’d ever really need more of bc it’s so strong.
I'm already not a fan of Patchouli, but hearing the Aventus dries down to almost just that, hellz no. The Sauvage would be my choice and definitely sounds like one for me to seek out. Thanks Papi.
Sauvage elixir Doesn’t smell as good as absolu Aventus sauvage is more for my grand father and absolu Aventus smells more for middle aged man. Every time I wear sauvage elixir people say it’s too harsh but People at work and outside has loved Aventus absolu on me so idk 🤷🏽♂️

@@WhiteRangerTP idk about a “real man scent” 😂🤣😂 you could go test it out in the street and see what scent would win. I bet absolu aventus would win easy. Girls reaction to Dior Sauvage elixir is not good, it’s ok for me. 😊
If I wear a fragrance that’s very strong and lasts for hours and hours it starts to annoy me. I prefer to get nice intermittent whiffs throughout the day and if I need to reapply I usually put some in a 1ml atomiser that I can take out with me. I wear fragrance for myself and my own enjoyment but if anyone else can smell it on me and enjoys it too that’s a bonus.
@@papistyle6479 can you make an effort and just go to the authorized dealer of Creed, just to smell what they have is the same scent. The one you have, and the real deal could be two different colognes.

I don't see why people talking of savage dior elixir being old man scent but they used to smelling common fragrance with oud, vanilla and chocolate

I will admit that this is the biggest flaw of Savauge is its SOOOOO potent. It can clear a room. Other than that, Savauge is superior

I’ll have to try that. It sounds BETTER to me. Looks like the price on this might be $425 USD according to Google’s scrape of the Creed teaser page.
No not at all. I actually tried that when elixir first came out and it wasn’t good at all and definitely won’t be the same as absolu
