Thanks Margaret. I do love how down to earth your video is. I just needed a reminder how to measure the angle properly. It's been a while since I did quilting and the cross hatch is my favorite design. Thanks Margaret 🙂
I love the look of cross hatching a quilt - especially for those of us who do our own quilting on a domestice machine. Thanks so much for your demo on how to place the walking foot's bar attachment and how you used the ruler to set the width. Great info for any brand of home/domestic quilting.
I had completely forgotten about that attachment to my quilting foot. Thanks so much for reminding me. I will make some place mats now. Love watching your videos. You are to easy to understand and so precise. It's helped me a lot. Thanks.
I know this is an older video, but full of great information! I do have a couple of questions … Do you always use the 45* angle for both square and rectangle quilts? And, if doing a throw size quilt, how do you determine the distance between the quilting lines, is there a mathematical equation or is it just personal preference (of course, meeting the batting recommendations, too)?
Hi Margaret from Ontario, Canada .I absolutely love watching your video's ! I am newbie sewer, quilter😏and have learnt many techniques from you. Thanks for sharing your time with us. Have speculator day!!
Thanks for showing how to use the bar for the walking foot. I had mine set on the opposite side and was becoming frustrated when my seams were not as consistent as I thought they should be. This was a great video for a newbie.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have been thinking of doing short videos on different sewing feet for my sewing machine, is this something you might be interested in? thanks for watching!!
+Margaret Leuwen Quilting (Miss Marker's Quilts) Yes I would like that. My machine is different but I have some of the same feet/ attachments. Seeing them in use makes a huge difference. Thanks again for your kindness.
THANK YOU, i HAVE THE GUIDE BUT NEVER TRIED TO USE IT, (SHOULD HAVE!). You did a very good job of explaining the How To. I know I will be watching this again.
Melissa, my normal stitch length is just under a 2 on my Bernini, for this cross hatch I increased it to 3. you could go ahead and quilt it with a shorter stitch, it just wasn't necessary for this piece. I turned it into a little bag, I'll be doing a video on it soon. Thanks for watching!!
Love this tutorial. I just got a new sewing machine and I’m soooo excited. Question....did that clear extension table come with your machine? I bought the extension table that goes with my machine and I like it ok, but I love the look of the clear one
now I know what that attachment is for - thanks so much and I will try this - have you done a small quilted basket or thread basket - have looked but maybe I missed the video.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I made a cloths line basket a couple of years ago, I showed it when I did the tour of my sewing station. Would you be interested in a particular basket?
I am looking for a small basket to put tickets in for our quilt guild - maybe 6 inches long - wide and high with a handle to hold it up for the draws. Thanks so much for the reply
Pronounced friction because it erases by heat. When you use the eraser tip the friction causes heat to remove the mark. I used these all the time at work.

Great tutorial. Now I know how to do this! Thank you so much. Have a great day!
Thank you Margaret!
Are you say line the 45 degree line on edge of straight of grain(long side)?
Thanks for another good tutorial.
Thank you Margaret for sharing. What stitch length do you sew with in general when piecing, and then on this crosshatch? Thanks again!
