Great way to capture what growing up black in different cities looks like. Being raised in the south by parents who were from NY and were raised in two of the worse projects in Brooklyn...the stories they’ve told me from the 60s, 70s, and 80s were eye opening. I’m glad this type of content is being shared for the world to see.

Another awesome episode, VH1!!! As a fellow NYer, I resonate with everything shared. There's a synergy in NY like no other place. I want to shout out all the gems shared in this video-- if you're not aware of what the three-fifths clause was or the dehumanization of black and brown peoples for centuries in policies and all systems has been, please look into learning more about it. From the earliest days that I can remember in academia to grad school, I was always the only black student with a disability in my classes. At the same time, I'm so thankful for my learning opportunities it did teach me to be aware of exceptionalism, the current segregation that still exists, and why it's essential to bridge gaps. Salute to all the speakers and continue to be change-makers. ♡ to NYC

The talk about Affirmative Action by THOSE students is ironic considering that statistically W.W benefit from it more.

You know.... I ALWAYS didn't understand why (a lot of) black people are not "with" (standing with) the LGBTQIA in this world. The similarities, and familiarities, that is called "hate", SHOULD guarantee their unity!!... But it doesn't. And that's sad because they can clearly stand tall together!
