      @@crusin73 Yes it works now! My only trouble was getting that darn plug apart! But I finally figured it out.

      @@janetteduran9600 I had a similar problem with the plug. It actually came apart ok but after pulling out the pins for the wires coming from the motor it began to rain so I quickly buttoned up everything and waited in the house for the rain to stop. When I returned I realized in my haste I somehow ended up pulling all of the wires out of the plug and I wasn't exactly sure which wire went where back in the plug. Fortunately I have a 2nd identical unit so I removed the covers and used that plug to figure out where the wires were supposed to go in the other unit. All's well now, the unit is working like a champ again. Lesson learned, take lots of pictures before disassembling! Thanks for the video, without it, I think that little plug would have gotten the best of me.

    Thanks for sharing this install. Did you use a replacement motor for the original gentec? I notice all the replacement motors on Amazon are only a 1/5 hp vs. 1/4 hp on the gentec. I’m wondering if it will make difference ?

    I finally got the replacement blower wheel and fan blade. But looks like I’m gonna have to pull the wiring loose and lift the motor just to change them just like you showed. Unless you know of a way to do without pulling the motor loose?

    • @crusin73
      @crusin73  Месяц назад +1

      Just unplug the wiring harness below the hamster wheel fan and be sure the circuit breaker inside is off. Only need to lift motor to replace fan blades. There are only 4 nuts holding it down. On mine one same size socket fit both fans and motor mounts. Not hard. Best of luck and happy New Year.

    I just replaced my fan on my Brisk Air II, but ended up with only low speed. I thought the new motor maybe had a bad high speed winding, so I purchased another new fan and installed...still only low speed.

    What am I missing? All ideas appreciated.

    Question: our ac works well enough. We clean it annually and filters get cleaned as needed. It seems that the ac works great in the room it is in. It no longer blows the air into the other room like it used to. I can get the other room cool, but most of the air comes from the open door. A closed door greatly decreases the cool air in the other room. Motor moves freely and spins well when unit is turned on. A neighbor tells me that the motor is stripped and therefore not spinning at full capacity. There is no weird noise when it runs. In your opinion, what do you think might be the problem of the air not blowing into other room? Do you think the motor might need replacing?

    • @crusin73
      @crusin73  4 года назад

      If it initially worked fine and now all of a sudden it no longer works fine, it can be a number of things. I guess my first question is do you travel or sit in one spot? If you travel, I would pull the vent covers out and check to be sure none are leaking. you can get the tin duct tape at a hardware store, if you sit, you might want to clean your condenser and evaporator. you can respond to me on my face book page. sorry for the late response, I was not notified. Are those evaporation coil‘s that you access from the roof… Are those the same ones that I can see from inside the RV when I take the cover off?
    When I look up in there it’s really dirty and I can’t clean it because it’s hard to reach. So basically can I reach what I see from inside by taking off the roof cover?

    • @crusin73
      @crusin73  4 года назад

      yes it is much easier to reach the evaporator and condenser from removing the cover on the roof. (on this model) just remember to seal off the air conditioner at the ceiling and all power is off.

    • @crusin73

    I have the brisk air duotherm 1, capacitor was replaced a year or 2 ago (prior to me owning the camper) and the fan doesn't come on at all, I feel a slight hum when I touch the fan but even spinning the fan does nothing. Any ideas???

    • @OttoDidactic
      @OttoDidactic 3 года назад

      It's probably time to replace the fan motor and capacitor. Most of the time they're changed out together. Capacitors usually aren't very expensive. Before removing the capacitor short across all of its terminals with a rubber insulated tool like a screwdriver or lineman pliers as they are designed to store a charge that can pack a serious punch. Make sure you remove both fans from the old motor. You will probably need them on the new motor

    • @crusin73
      @crusin73  3 года назад

      If you aren't sure how to test the compacitor, i have a part #1 to this video that shows how I did it. If it needs replacing and if I could afford to, I would take advantage of the situation and instal a "soft start" compacitor. After checking the compacitor i would test and replace the motor if needed to.
