Hey Paul!!! So awesome to see you and your cat!! That's cool you're replacing the blower motor yourself. That's good you got the whole kit instead of just the motor. Good idea on taking photos of everything before taking it apart!! We agree.. if you're up there.. may as well clean it all!! Sounds like it's blowing really well now!! Awesome video and thanks for sharing!!! Lots of love to you and Jesse!!
Thank you so much for making this video! I have a similar Dometic Duo AC, but it is MUCH MUCH older (probably from when my camper was built in 1080) that is assembled in the same way. I could find no videos online of how to disassemble this type of unit! I really wanted to clean the unit inside and out and this video will help me out a lot!
Thank you for this video. This gave us the hint we needed to replace the frozen-up fan motor on our unit. You glossed over how difficult it is to get at the screw that holds the squirrel-cage fan onto the motor shaft, I think. That took us about two-thirds of the total time to replace the motor. Everything else was easy.
Hey Kevin, glad the video was a little help to you and that you were able to get your unit up and running. I didn’t have any issue getting the squirrel-cage fan out, other than having to loosen the front radiator assembly. I used a short handled screw driver that allowed me to gain access to the screw with no issues. I spent about an hour and a half on this project and that was with filming it, which made the job about twice as long as it would have been normally. Thanks for the comment and hope you have a great weekend!
@@MileAfterMile hey there. I’m doing similar replacement as the one in this video. However, can I get my fan motor to cut on now. I’m looking at the wiring diagram from Deorro firm, and it appears that there’s a green and yellow wire that is supposed to be used to ground the unit out

Thanks for sharing this information. I’ve got a dometic B57915.712JO I bought new blower wheeel and fan blade but the new blower seems out of round just like the other. Not sure if is the motor shaft itself. I played he’ll getting the old wheel off & had to beat the new one on the shaft. Is it supposed to be that tight? The shaft doesn’t seem to be bent. So I’m like if I get a new motor how am I gonna put the new wires in the plug that goes to the thermostat control box. Was wondering how you took that plug apart without breaking the plastic ?
So I have the exact same model but older, the motor is fine but the unit was collecting water, drain off was clogged, so, long story short, the squirrel cage needs cleaned, I got the clamp off, (it was secured with a nut so I used a socket, easy), but, I’m not sure why since it is plastic, not metal, it won’t budge, the old one is white plastic, and I will have to break it to remove it, so I ordered the whole motor kit as a preventative measure I will replace everything, maybe I’ll have less vibration. Thanks for this video, makes it easy.

I use to work with a bunch of twisted mechanics that thought it was fun to charge up capacitors and put them back on the bench.
Oh no! That is twisted.
i was at my insurance company getting new policy for auto and other insurance and dam one guy that admits he got the covid -19 he has face mask on no gloves and wanted to come in small space with me i had a mask on and rubber gloves but i have asma and other health issue but i had to sign papers for new policy to take affect and make payments since i can not us debit or credit cards thanks to the state of kansas and smith county kansas where i had my identity stolen from and my bank accounts compromised and home destroyed by crime and forced to sign plea deal by gun point been a victim from day one buying a house in smith county kansas in 2006 to 2020 and was refused by all due to corruption from sheriff office to attorney general and victim of crime in state of kansas having all kinds of evidence but that state refuse to go after the color of blue that stolen my identity... so i told the man get the heck out of here now i hope the hell i do not come down with any sickness, this will kill me off since i live in a total out rv with out running water and have to have sewer pumped out once a month from rv. and living on nothing but hope that there will come justice from the doj office in dc. its pretty bad that a crimianl class a friend was taken with the attorney general there said that my case should of be drop asap and no charges filed against me, since the ones that stolen credit cards an broke into my home and pulled a gun and i knocked him out to get free of the weapon but kansas corruption department is nothing but greed and jelious of someone working an earning a income from work and i mean hard work. but buying a house is not a crime but in state of kansas must be .. my closest neighbor is mr and miss poison oak, ivy, sumac an some other thorn ivy all give major case of rash. when my dog runs threw it dog has to be wash down with degreeser soap to get it off it then regular dog soap and lots of water but dam did i say dont have running water i have to wait for stock tank to fill up for me to have a shower once a month when i go to doctor appointment living with out normal stuff is hard thanks to state of kansas targeted a disable veteran an destoyed my life and stolen my identity and destroyed my companies, and even stolen my art work and gold and cash out of home and destroying the home i paid for and remodled it... there should be a law that if you got the virous you should not go anywhere an this was the first of may when it took place dam my luck if i get sick well a long time ago i added a cupasitor to the unit it only had 2 but now i have 3 of them on unit it work fine after i replaced the board and added the copasitor but now it just makes a huming noise but no air flow and dam its starting to get hot out but have to wait for part i bet i live init full time since the coruption from kansas and being a victim of major crime and identity having death threats form cops and judge and district attorneys wanting to kill me for turning them in for the drug sales and illegal activities and destroying my home and company. well i got a choice today buy a motor or buy food i think i got for motor and i have a lot of weeds out side to eat on its poison oak and ivy and sumic and some new red vine with thorns i think its anouther poison plant might make tea from it i heard it might fight the covid -19 away. any thoughts out there i have an old dometic 622 ac unit
Meanold bonbon, sorry to hear of all the hassle you have been through, identity theft is serious and can cause a lot of harm to the victim. Hope you get the motor replaced so that you will have A/C, especially in the summer heat!
I just came off the roof of my RV and couldn't figure out how in the world I could get that squirrel cage off. I busted all that styro foam off of mine and still couldn't figure it out. Now I know, possibly. Mine was almost identical to yours.
Mark, sorry to hear you had trouble getting the squirrel cage off. It definitely isn’t easy.
Mine was seized on the shaft, as was the fan. Had to use an oscillating saw to cut them off.
the colors of the motor cables are the same as the old motor air conditioning
jesus esquivel they were similar colors, but some didn’t match up. Pretty easy install either way.
