Wow! You have made that look really easy! Thank you for such a comprehensive tutorial! I am just about to make my first coat and this will be an invaluable resource! 👏👏👏👏❤️
I bought a beautiful jacket, but it is thin and has no lining. I'd like it to have a lining, so I think I will try to make one. I am not at all a seamstress like my mom was, but she is not here anymore to do it for me. I hope I can pull it off. You did an amazing job with this step by step detailed tutorial. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. I'm sewing jackets with lining for my wedding party. I've never sewn a jacket let alone lined one. Well after following the steps in your tutorial my jackets came out to my liking. Thank you couldn't have lined the jacket without your help.
I have watched this video, a couple of times, she does make it look easy, I like the fact that the lining is not sagging, it looks very tailored, and finished, and she does make it look easy. She did a great job of explaining and demonstrating.
Thanks so much for your videos. You make them a lot easier and NOT complicated for us to understand. I love these 2 prints together. They're very beautiful. Much love to you Abi from T&T in the Caribbean.
Hi Diana, it’s lovely to have your feedback, I appreciate your support. 🌷💕if there’s anything I can help with let me know. My filming isn’t the best but I’ll get there eventually 🌷
This is an excellent video, thank you! I’m replacing a lining in a wool coat for a friend and you showed a fabulous technique for sewing it all together. Thank you so much!
I just want to say THANK YOU for this brilliant video - I'm a totally novice but followed your instructions without a hitch! You're so clear and you obviously have a thorough knowledge of your craft, so you make it a breeze to follow. My first jacket isn't perfect (slightly wonky standing collar!) but I'm going to get better - especially with your videos!! Thank you thank you thank you for putting me in such good stead on my first sewing steps!!
Thank you so much! I was wigging out a little about how I would make a gift for a friend special, by lining the jacket. I would have ended tearing out the stitches multiple times, along with my hair. I usually prefer videos that are sped up, & don't have a lot of superfluous talking, but you were very articulate, & straight to the point. Just a very enjoyable tutorial, overall. Your help is much appreciated!
This tutorial is so helpful! I was sewing some last minute Halloween costumes which require a lining and the tutorial on the pattern I purchased was confusing. Your tutorial saved the day! Thank you so much for your easy to follow instructions. 😃
Hi Abi it’s so interesting to see a professional showing their craft. You obviously were trained well. It would be interesting to know the history of your skills.😊
Hi Abi, this is such an awesome video and exactly what I was looking for. Did you make a follow on video of this that shows how to sew up the hole in the lining and finish the neckline and bottom of the jacket? Thank you so much, excited to watch more of your videos!!
I'm about to make my first jacket using Harris Tweed but the pattern is for an unlined one..so this will help me enormously. thank you.. also love the stag lining fabric :-)
Thank you so much for this! You made it look so easy breezy. I would have never thought to attach the sleeve that way :-) Question, can I leave that space for turning along the length of the sleeve lining instead?
Hi Abi, love all your tutorials just finished the apron! Just wondering where the video is for cutting out the pattern. You shared the link in the comments below but it's just going through to a private video. X
Hi, I’m not quite clear on the final hem method of second sleeve 🤔 Are you sewing it with the hem turned in as seam allowance and serger stitched as indicated initially or? Thank you
Wonderful. A lifesaver for making lined jackets as a cosplayer. Also, alternatively, can the opening to turn the right side out be on the neck gorge rather than on the side, especially if you still have a collar to sew on, so you have to leave a raw edge on the neckline to work with?
I'm a beginner in sewing. I'd like to know how to make a pattern for a linen jacket i have. And would light jersey fabric do as a lining fabric? Its a summer fabric.
Did you sew also the two bottoms in the final step? I mean: sewn all the border around but the hole in the lateral side, left open to turn the jacket inside out? Sorry for my poor english
Hi Abi, thank you so much for this. I have always been afraid of lining the jackets but you made it look like easy breezy. Quick question, can you please tell me which Singer serger model are you using? Thank you so much and new sub here
....ok, totally lost you after you sewed the cuff of the first sleeve.... have no idea how you turned everything so the the sleeve was on the outside and the lining was on the inside.... 😳
Wow! You have made that look really easy! Thank you for such a comprehensive tutorial! I am just about to make my first coat and this will be an invaluable resource! 👏👏👏👏❤️
It is really easy isn’t it, people like to make things harder than they really are x good luck. Hope your coat goes well x

I have watched this video, a couple of times, she does make it look easy, I like the fact that the lining is not sagging, it looks very tailored, and finished, and she does make it look easy. She did a great job of explaining and demonstrating.

@@AbisDen Absolutely! Anytime! :)
Great idea but it is not clear enough how to do this. More careful video of how to attach the lining to the jacket is needed.
This was a fabulous help, thank you. I lined my first jacket and I followed this and it was a lot easier than I thought.
brilliant..will be doing linings this way in future. Thanks

I am making Bolero Jacket for my daughters’ winter dance . I plan to use puffy fabric as a lining but I don’t know how. Thank you.
I hope this helped 🔥💕😊
Hi. Why did you do the sewing on the 2 sleeves differently?
Actually, I think you’re right, I didn’t need to did I?
Great tutorial!! thank you
Hi Abi, love all your tutorials just finished the apron! Just wondering where the video is for cutting out the pattern. You shared the link in the comments below but it's just going through to a private video. X
Thanks for that Rosie. Some of my older videos were just so awful. Haha. I hid it from the world 🌎
Amazing !!!
Hi, I’m not quite clear on the final hem method of second sleeve 🤔

Yes, correct
Lovely tutorials! You are so good! :-)
I’m self taught so my techniques are very different from conventional methods

Thank you for this tutorial Abi❤

Have you ever sewn a dog jacket? I am trying to figure out how to line the fleece to be warm and having some trouble
how do you close the turning hole?
I handsew the turning holes closed with a slip or ladder stitch
Hi Abi, thank you so much for this. I have always been afraid of lining the jackets but you made it look like easy breezy. Quick question, can you please tell me which Singer serger model are you using? Thank you so much and new sub here
You are so welcome!
I'm late to this party, but why cannot both sleeve ends be sewn to the lining in the same way. I'm so confused
You won’t be able to pull it through. It gets rather complicated and I prefer this way
Where is the pattern please
Aw, i just made it by drawing around a dress i had
....ok, totally lost you after you sewed the cuff of the first sleeve.... have no idea how you turned everything so the the sleeve was on the outside and the lining was on the inside.... 😳
i second that
This is the best method thank you so much!! Also you're a fantastic teacher :)
