- I get a ton of emails asking questions about new old stock radios. Do they need to be recapped ? Do they need alignments ? Can I just use it as is ?
I tried different camera angles and some part of the radio got cut off. Sorry about that.
OG. Cool to see something Vintage still mint.
A vintage Cobra 29 or a vintage Uniden 78 would have had several more knobs, but the extra knobs on the Uniden and the Cobra would always be set wide open by the end users. I like the old school radios.
I've got a pretty good collection of Royce stuff. Quality built radios and great receive. I like the meter in that as well. Really enjoy your channel.👍
I'm the guy that never wins anything. Like scratch tickets. I never win. So I was happy to score this radio for free. I have only 3 royce radios and I love them as well. You're right, quality built. Thanks, I appreciate it !
Beautiful radio, I'm old school also
Well I had one of those back in the day. Great radios. Ended up stolen out of my car.
Ah. The days when cb radios were a hot thing to steal.
You and I have the same number of subs... until I subbed to your channel. Now you have one more sub than I do. I sure like the meter on that Royce.
I just subscribed to your channel!
@@pulsarcb Thank you!
Dumb question but will the SINAD work just from extension speaker wires alone like install a toggle switch that discontect one speaker terminal but still wired to Sinnader ?
1st radio i bought in very early 80s was a $5 garage sale Royce 23 channel. It was a great radio. Don't know what happened to it.
Greetings: Wow U got lucky on that. Shelf it as a collector.
I am ! I was able to get the original paperwork and owners manual for it on ebay. Now it's complete.
@@pulsarcb Greetings: Score!!! Way 2 go. Back in the day I had near complete collections of President, Pearce Simpson, Robyn, Tram, the top Cobras and a few others I cannot remember. B safe.
Excellent video! I am a fervent Royce collector and this NOS Royce 1-648 got my heart beat racing. I have many Royce models but this one is still lacking. I have been looking for your email address but couldn’t find it. How can I contact you? Regards, Pim
It's pulsarcbrepair@gmail.com or website is www.pulsarcb.com
Do you have your contact info posted ? I like your work! Love the install video you did in the ramp truck!
Thanks I appreciate it ! The website is www.pulsarcb.com
Does it need to see the 8 ohm speaker load or something for Sinad to read correctly
The sinadder needs to "hear" the 1000 hz tone. The load from the speaker could be 4, 8 or 16 ohm. The speaker impedance as far as I know makes no difference.
@@pulsarcb so you could actually leave the speaker out and just connect wires or like you said has an audio pick up as well to work (has to hear)
@pottypete5593 So you don't actually hear the tone ? Yea. Mike from Mike's radio repair does it that way and a couple more techs I know do it that way. I like to hear the tone that's why I jump another set of wires from the speaker. I like to hear the clean 1000 hz tone as well as reading the meter to get best sensitivity.
@@pulsarcb thanks for reply. Much appreciated. I think when i find a tester i will do same as you but put a switch for when wife angry lol. Hates that noise
I dont think that would work if I'm understanding you correctly.
