Big issues for doing this install for Camaro owners, as he stated, the forward part of the trunk is soft, so boxes easily move if not secured. The big problem (for me at least) is the rear section of the trunk because the stock hard foam inserts actually provide support from flexing. Doing this will likely lower the amount of weight you can put back there. For me, my Camaro is my grocery getter and I do use it for heavy supplies. Just something to think about.
I didn’t have any heat issues especially with a class d amp. The speaker level triggers shutdown well. They have a delay from when the last signal was received and shutdown.
Isn't it better to have one ground point for all the grounds? I thought it would cause issues to have multiple ground points especially so close together. I could be wrong, just seems I heard that somewhere.
Watching this video gave me hope. Would you mind sharing the Amp and Speakers you used? I am duplicating your modifications. My Camaro is 2017 LT Coupe but I think the system is the same non-Bose.
I think I used a 500 watt fosgate mono amp and jl 10. I only added a sub. I also used a basic line level converter. I don’t have the car anymore so not exactly sure what was in it.
Which wire is the remote power, its usually solid blue leading to the amp..when i checked the voltage it's only 7 volts, need 12 volts to turn on amp, cant find it
I used the dedicated line from the line level converter. The converter is tied to the battery constant on and uses the speaker inputs to sense signal and switch its remote line on.
Hello the line converter that I used had a remote triggered by the input signal. There are some amps that do this as well on their speaker level inputs.
What small gaps ??? I’ve had mine for a day same alpine amp with an adaptive harness and that thing gets hot as heck !!! I have foam down there maybe take that out ???
I got my subs & amp installed at Best Buy. Now when I'm backing up I don't hear the beeping noise when I'm close to things, I can't hear my turn signals, and the speakers don't sound like they are pumping. What can I do to get those sounds back?
It almost sound like the connection is not complete. The harness allows you to tap into the signals. You may have a broken (open) connection on one side.
This is easiest and most detailed video I’ve found so far. But I have one question how would u wire the Bose harness with that amp?? I’m trying to do it for my camaro but the Bose harness is missing the violet wire
i have a 2019 camaro 2ss convertible if you have a bose system in your car this install will not work you will need to add a Audio control LC2i it's about $99.00 you can get on at best buy.
I just bought this harness. Going to mount my amp to trunk floor panel but I want to make sure it ok to screw it down as I dont want to drill into gas tank. I got 2017 camaro any advice wether I can screw it down?
To send signal to a line out converter for an aftermarket amplifier for a subwoofer. It’s just a T harness adapter. You could do the same thing by finding a wiring diagram and splicing into the factory harness, but with this there’s no cutting or modification to the cars wiring. Hope that helps
I have a 2018 Camaro with Bose. Took it to a local shop and had aftermarket amp and subs installed. I am experiencing the unwanted feedback through the subs from the ACN. Do I need just the ACN bypass or do I have to also run the T harness?
Indecisive Garage yea its in the trunk, laid out like yours. Going to try finding the harness again only one popping up on amazon costs $98, local shop says they have one for $40 might just grab that.
I still can’t figure it out I have a 800w kicker amp but it doesn’t have a harness and I have the subthump non Bose harness but I’m not sure how to use it in my situation
You will need a separate line level converter in your case. The harness would wire to the converter and the rca connections in the converter to the rca input of the amp.
@@ricardoquezada3109 yes that’s how I had mine setup subthump harness (factory speaker tap) to line level converter, converter rca to amp rca. Many converters offer a turn on lead for the amp as well.
@@indecisivegarage2389 cool okay. I'm just trying to add a sub right now and keep the factory bose speakers until I'm ready to upgrade those too. I'll probably go with the M650-GM interface for a full system later.
Jesse Kai I have one video on how you can swoon the one closest to the trunk to deactivate the noise canceling microphones. I have another where you can use the Subthump adapter to bypass the mics. Honestly it is super easy to depin it and save a few bucks.
he should run the battery cable on other side of amp, away from inputs, youl get some weird interfearance issues.alwaya keep power and ground farthest away from inputs as possible.@@indecisivegarage2389
Todd Hodges turns out the noise was from the active noise cancellation system. I have a few follow up videos showing the fix. Thanks for the advice though.

Can you do this with a bose amp with 7 bose speakers from ZL1? I have a 1SS and ordered bose speakers (7) that came off a wrecked ZL1
I wonder about heat buildup?
Does the speaker level turn on work properly but more importantly, does it turn OFF automatically as well?
I didn’t have any heat issues especially with a class d amp. The speaker level triggers shutdown well. They have a delay from when the last signal was received and shutdown.
@@indecisivegarage2389 thank you so much.
I'm doing the same set up. So essentially the plug and play wire harness replaces the rca cables?
Will this allow you to run an amp to the factory speakers or are the the wires output?
Isn't it better to have one ground point for all the grounds? I thought it would cause issues to have multiple ground points especially so close together. I could be wrong, just seems I heard that somewhere.
Multiple grounds is fine as long as they have solid bare metal contact

is this for a 2SS/LT (w/ Bose) or 1SS/LT?
This is the Bose system
I have 2016 2lt camaro rs convertible with Bose system…. I need a harness just like that where can I get one at?
Clean install. If you would have ran an amplifier remote turn on wire, where would you have attached it?
Bay Street probably tapping one of the accessory signals in the fuse box. Most line converters have the turn on wire these days.
The fuse box is one foot away hook the blue remote wire up to a fuse that's only hooked up to accessory

@@indecisivegarage2389 appreciate it 🙏, I just wasn’t sure if that harness took the remote from the stock amp
My question with that lid closed how does the amp not overheat if you play the stereo for a long time?
Anthony Papa I haven’t had and issues to date with the amp overheating. The cover has several small gaps.

i know its three years to late and ya probably already figured it out but i like using velcro it works perfectly
Does this eliminage the need for a LC2i?
Did you have a poping sound when volume was off or radio turned off
No I did not have that issue. sounds like your amp does not have a soft turn on.
Any wires go to the front radio of the car I have the same one
John Cindy the front and rear speaker wires come out of this connection. The subtump harness labels them.
Thanks you help me out a lot with that video big-time keep up the good work bro and thanks for responding
I have a different amp.. I have a 2019 1SS 1LE camaro. and I'm confused if this will work for my car or not
It should this just taps into the factory signals.
@@indecisivegarage2389 I did some research and I got the chip amp under the passenger footwell... anything I can use for that?
@@nicholascortez27 I don’t know much about the 1le setup. Best bet is to find someone on a Camaro forum that can help.
How did you get your amp to shut off with the remote wire. I can't seem to get my amp to shut off lmao
