This is wrong, the rune of death was stolen to KILL the demi gods because Marika removed the rune from the Elden Ring in order to vanish death from the lands between. Her half brother Maliketh kept the rune in his sword being the only person who could punish (in Marikas name) people with death, but Ranni tell us later that she stole the rune so she could die and get rid of her emipirian status and face the two fingers (is still unclear why Godwyn was murder as well) . The image of Godwyn opening his eyes is just the fact that when he was killed, his soul died but his body did not, oposite to Ranni (killed at the same time) where her body died but her soul lived.

The Fingers were the beings who hired the Black Knives to kill Godwyn since Godwyn intended on bringing Death as a concept back to the Golden Order, which was an affront to what Marika wanted. The Fingers were also the same beings who later in the questline learn of Ranni's location and attempt to send the Black Knives after her.

Rennala isn't the daughter of Marika, she is the ex-wife of Radagon. Radagon left Rennala to marry Marika. Subsequently - Ranni, Rykard and Radahn are children of Radagon and Rennala. 2. The rune of death was not stolen from Elden Ring, the Rune of Death was stolen from Malaketh. 3. The rune of death was stolen by Ranni to kill her body and Godwyn's soul. 4. Dung Eater ending isn't the worst ending possible, the Fell Curse can be viewed as positive thing as individuals with the fell curse (ex. Morgott and Mohg) were prosecuted for being different. 5. No where does the lore mention Godfrey, like hello? He is a pretty big part of the lore - we fight him twice ffs. 6. Crumbling Farum Azula has 3 bosses not 2 - Malaketh, Godskin Nobles and Dragonlord Placidusax. So this video fails to explain anything to a newbie, as all it does is ramble around terms which someone who has not played the game has no attachment to, and it also fails to explain the lore correctly to someone who does understand the basics and just needs to clarify some things. Before you do something, do the necessary homework so you don't end up disrespecting that very same thing for a bit of monetary gain.

Godrick the Crafted is not Marika/Godfrey son, the 2 fingers lady in the round table says he is a distant relative the npc noble in lingrave at some point even alludes that Godrick was the last of Godfrey lineage

Queen Marika then literary shattered the elden ring out of grief of her son's death.

The story is poor( not that interesting ) , no cinematics, not so much lore in the world at all, fighting is pretty much the same for all bosses ( jump, avoid, hit), not much creatures background during gameplay at all so i didn't know who are they and what is their story, who do they fight for and why, not so much npc in thr game ( villages, cities etc. you know - common folk) , ending is as simple as any other boss fight and thats it- end. I am a subscriber for a long time here but i certainly don't agree this is as game of the year, or if it is then this year will be pretty much boring for upcoming games.

The story doesn’t suck because there is no story. Like you said the game has lore that explains kind of who these people you are killing are and how we arrived at the current state of affairs but the only story to speak of is that you must become elden lord. There really isn’t anything else that happens. Sure there are loads of characters with their own quests but none of them really tie into the story of the game. They have their own little stories with their own conclusions. Which I think is kind of bullshit because you have this character melina that you could have used as a basepoint for the story but honestly she is only a tool for the player to progress and not a character that really does anything for the story.
