Abby could have been a great character. If they had us play through her story before we found out about her killing Joel. That way the players could like her instead of having hatred for killing Joel. That was never going to go over well. Plus it would have been a good reveal if done correctly.

Abby only gets the upper hand when she attacks by surprise. If you try to attack Ellie and you see it coming, she easily kills you. Abby won the theatre fight, Ellie won that other fight at the end of the game. I'd say they are evenly matched.
While Ellie was too, she was bleeding to death from being impaled by a tree branch, AND she was disarmed from her knife, so she had to use her fists AND eventually overpowered Abby.

@@DboyRed Ellie and Abby weren’t at their best?, Abby lost all her equipment on the island and Ellie was caught of guard, plus ellie got nerfed by gameplay and we had to play as Abby, so abby had the upper hand of being played by the player, not only that Ellie won the fight when they were both at their weakest in the end of the game. And for Tommy being able to die where Joel died, she had like all her friends there which all of them had guns and it was an enclosed place, even if she was in the POSITION to be able to kill Tommy, she would definitely not win a fair fight against Tommy. And for the rat king, everyone would be able to kill it if they all also got lucky enough to have a whole armory as their arena and an another in their backpack.

Unpopular opinion. Abby was probably the best character besides joel and ellie. They captured her redemption perfectly they make you watch her go from a killer to saving kids and trying to forgive herself. Theres a reason she gets so mad when owen mentions crossing the country for revenge. Theres a reason she spares tommy and ellie. My 2nd favorite character of the 2nd game. 1st is joel. 3rd is ellie

Abby could have been a great character.
If they had us play through her story before we found out about her killing Joel. That way the players could like her instead of having hatred for killing Joel. That was never going to go over well. Plus it would have been a good reveal if done correctly.
I hate this ending because Ellie should’ve just stayed with Dina and JJ but instead of being focused on finding Abby for revenge. Well I mean She did kill Joel but she also lost her older friends, Mel and the baby, and the dog. Even Ellie lost Dina, Tommy, Joel which obviously of course happened at the half begging of the game.

I'm sorry but no way on earth Ellie is stronger than Abby. Abby destroyed Ellie. The only time Ellie had the upper hand was at the end because Abby was physically weak.
Abby only gets the upper hand when she attacks by surprise. If you try to attack Ellie and you see it coming, she easily kills you. Abby won the theatre fight, Ellie won that other fight at the end of the game. I'd say they are evenly matched.
