    Great video. Nole's strokes are just super efficient. Also like the way uses his legs to lift balls up.

    One of the best backhand analysis, 🎾🎾👍👍👍👍

    Hi Ryan, great analysis and instruction! Also notice how as he completes his initial turn - the racquet head up that you pointed out - also sets his right shoulder below his left shoulder. I think too many of us keep our shoulders level, where this angle (right below left at the back of swing) sets us up to dip into the ground and swing forward.

    Do you have a video on how to use leg drive/weight transfer for the backhand?

    Excellent video Ryan! I found what helps me keep my body in motion when I see it’s coming to my BH is to turn partially, move to the hitting position, but delay the full coil almost until the ball bounces on my side.

      @bmanbusee3812 6 месяцев назад +1

      That works for rally balls or medium paced. But fast balls you need to coil fully prior from my experience

    Novak looks like he has the same grip as Andre. A conventional grip on the forehand and an eastern grip on the left hand, which gives him the ability to rotate the correct way. Great job on the video Coach.

      Maybe in the future. Many rec players don’t want to be put on blast like that though.

    Similar to what Ben Hogan advocated with the golf swing. Lead the down swing by the turning the hips.

      If you want a subject, you should do some videos on Taiwan's Hsieh Su-Wei, who got absolutely zero power, but got amazing feel, accuracy, anticipation, etc, she won both Doubles (women & Mixed) at 2024 AO, she's incredible, there will never be another one like her!

    Hi Ryan there may be a loss of power on the having the back swing stop. Iook at the way Djokovic is from under the flight of the ball. So by watch the ball you can time this.

    Ryan, I’m very curious to know now if Djokovic does the same thing on his forehand ie his racket head drop happening as his uncoiling happens.🤔
    PS: Haha! Just went and checked. Guess what? The exact same thing. Coils 120 degrees and the racket drops as he uncoils on his forehand too.

    Hi, what grip is Novak using with the right hand, bc it almost seems his knuckle is on bevel 1..thereby closing the racket face slightly…am I seeing that right?

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  6 месяцев назад +1

      Not on bevel 1. Just a normal bevel 2 grip.

    nice insight !!! is this the same for a one hander and a forehand regarding raquette drop and rotating ?

  • @MrBolaextra

    Interesting, but there is one problem with this kind of analysis IMO. He's in practice, hitting quite relaxed, probably warming up, balls that are coming to the center, where he is. It's all stationary, but real tennis is not like that. I think it would be more interesting to show his backhand technique in real competitive match situations, where he would be hitting on the run, out of his comfort zone, and having to make quick decisions.

      The reason this is more relevant than you may think, is bc 95% of rec players don’t do what I taught in this video. How to hit a tennis ball on balance are the basics. And the reason Novak is so good at hitting off balance is bc he’s so good a hitting while on balance. Gotta learn addition before you learn multiplication. Thanks!!
