Even if this was a marketing technique, I would say this gave 1st hand hands on experience of their real users. Lastly, With so many sharks showing interest the team should have offered equity with more generosity as they certainly need to plan it properly to make it a leading product than being just another product to assist those users.

It is all related to marketting. Nothing like kind hearted but that's how he brought his company to this level clever business man. Also,he has hinted his intentions of buying other shark's equity in future he is gonna make equity of around 20% in that company by hook or crook😅.
