Jan, your work is absolutely amazing! Apologies as I’m sure you’ve been asked this before, but what software program/printing system do you use to generate your full-sized patterns?
Wow....that was some intricate lead work around all those smaller pieces. It's easy to see how the cost of materials adds up in one of these larger window panels.
Los vidrios con los que usas son muy bellos lo que hacen que tus trabajos se enriquecen maravillosamente!! Increíble tu perfección!!! Tienes mi admiración!!! Felicitaciones!!!🤗❤👏👏👏
I found your work through Instagram and enjoyed seeing the brief clips, but seeing the process in more detail with the voice over is absolutely amazing! You do such stunning work!
Happy belated birthday!! 🎉🎁🥮 I hope it was a good one! I love the curly q's and heart in the middle of the panel. That's a little different. That and the olive glass. It looks like it's much easier to break the glass along the score line with those more needle nose groziers than the wider ones most people use.
Happy Birthday weekend! You make it look so easy,as always. My workshop is finally almost finished, and we came home with about 20 sheets of glass on Friday. 37.5 meters of came!!! That seems crazy. I am excited to try it myself. Waiting on my grinder to be delivered, and still can't find any grozing pliers that seem quality. I hope to be cutting the glass by the end of the week. My best friends kids even want to come over next week and work on a window for their first flat. We will prolly mess everything up, but it will be fun anyway.
Fantastic work as always, looks like you are able to use your arm freely again. How long have you been doing this and what made you start? So many pieces, lead came and solder joints, takes a lot of patience but worth it in the end! thanks again for sharing.
@@JanLightLeadedDesigns It certainly shows - how easily you go about things and I love that it is a family skill, that's great that it was passed to you. Thanks for answering, keep up the great work and videos. I know you have had your son in some videos too, I think that is very cool.
May I ask your preference for type or brand of black stove polish? I see there are pastes and liquids. Yours looks more paste like but I'd love your input. I found you first on Instagram and watching you break your scores with grozers amazes me and I will be trying that soon. Thank you for your inspiration. For years I've always done Sanford Bray's foil method that Tiffany made famous. However, watching your videos has nudged me into wanting to explore came. Your work is superb!
Cheers Kim Marie, I've used a bunch of stove polishes over the years all with similar results. I'm out the workshop for a couple of weeks and I can't remember the current one. I do remember the 'hot spot' brand in the metal tube worked well 👌
Aww cheers for the appreciation 🍻. I've taught lots of people over the years but I'm always stupidly busy these days with projects and I have a young family at home keeping me extra occupied 😂🍻
Please don’t wobble the window pre-cement. Got my nerves in tatters. Stunning work. Colours are immense on top of the beautiful lead. I’ve equipped myself with some tools, glass etc to start a hobby. Inspired. Happy Birthday 🎉
Oh my gosh, I love your videos. I just found you on RUclips. You’re so fast. Please tell me the ingredients of your putty. I am so tired in America of using stupid whiting after using putty. And you’re so fast when you cut the lead with your lead knife, you must sharpen it.
It's a very similar recipe to the ones you can find with a Google search for leaded light window cement recipe. But the exact recipe I use is a little bit of a secret 😉

Finally a good instructional video, thanks for the look over your shoulder. You always make it look so easy. Two questions: What kind of nibbling tongs are these and what exactly do you use to polish the tin at the end? Looks like shoe polish 😅🙏🥰!
I use a pair of Silberschnitt tungsten tipped grozing pliers but they stopped making them many years ago. And it's black grate polish to blacken the lead work
This was a brilliant video! Thanks so much for sharing your process, I really enjoyed watching and listening. The windows look beautifully made… 😊
Cheers for listening to me waffling on😂🤎
@@JanLightLeadedDesigns it was great, please waffle, we are all amazed by the beautiful work and learning about the process.

Thanks again Jan, outstanding work as always.
Cheers for tuning in 😂🍻
Hey Jan, I just read the description, Happy birthday bro.
I’d love to see your process of measuring the doors and planning designs!
To be honest it's not very interesting as it's mostly thinking time 😂 I'm not sure if it would make a very interesting video 😂🍻
I would love to see this too! Particularly how you attach the panel to the door!

Great to hear an expert talk about their craft. Thanks.

Very intricate design. The colours blend so well together. Bet that took a long time to do 😯
Yeah those types of door panels don't really get much more intricate or time consuming 🧡🤎💜

This is beautiful and what a skilled artist you are. What do you do with the waste glass? Does it go for recycling? ❤
I always try to reuse the smaller pieces as glass is super expensive 🧡🤍🩷
The design on your laptop looks so detailed. What software are you using to make them?
I love the design and amazing work as always!
I spent a small fortune making my own design program a few years ago, totally worth it 🩵💜❤️
Hello, I enjoy watching your videos, they look very nice. One thing I'm wondering is, when you finish, what do you apply before painting?
I think you must mean the 'lead light cement' 💛🍻
beautiful stuff you make. I am curious , doesn't the cement paste scratch the glass?
Nah it doesn't scratch the glass 🫶
great colors…

He's awesome right ❤️❤️❤️
Very well done as always :) And such a beautiful design! Do you come up with them yourself?
The centre design motif was inspired by a old window in my clients home and and worked it into a design to fit the door panel sizes 💚🧡💛

Jan, do you cut on the textured side of the glass?
Whenever possible on the smooth side!
You have probably been asked this question 100s of times
Do you use a wheel cutter or diamond or does it depend on the job/glass?? Being used
Its always a cutting wheel these days but I do have a couple of old diamond cutters at the workshop but I just keep them for the sentimental value 🫶
