I am sorry but there is nothing in your video showing or instructing how to setup the Fujifilm camera to work as a webcam. Do you just plug it in? Cause it did not work for me.
I use Zoom in a Church to share the service. I use a camcorder with external microphones plugged in to a laptop using an HDMI/USB adapter and then take the laptop online with a hotspot on my iPhone. I hope this means I can ditch the laptop and run the Zoom session on the phone directly. Using the camcorder gives me a good optical Zoom range and external mics. But annoyingly, the hotspot often drops out after connection and before the start of the session. I assume it sees it is idle and drops it. Most annoying as when the Zoom session starts there’s no internet. The alternative is to start the Zoom early and waste data on my phone. Without the laptop I have less setup and less to go wrong.
It feels like it's just functioning as the built in webcam so should work with most apps, but other than testing it for this video I haven't actually used it as I'm usually doing meetings from my PC
I'm Researching this now, trying to make a plug & play youtube live set up with an iPad / Camera & wireless lav mic as a gift for a family member.... will make a "how to" or "shucks it doesn't work" video when I do.
How did you go with this? I was curious about this technology but honestly haven't used it since making this video as I prefer to shoot everything at max quality on real cameras because i'm a super-nerd and don't do any live streaming
Dude, story of my life (... and every other sony shooter!) My FX3 can do stuff my much more expensive FX6 can't (EG: 100fps with audio)... and the newer cameras that are 1/4 the price of a FX3 can do stuff that both can't :P I don't get mad though, the camera does everything it said it would do when I bought it, and that is life :P
@@Isaac_Insoll That’s true, I can’t be upset that it “only” does what was advertised, but with Sony the upgrades just come so quickly that it gives one a bit of whiplash seeing all the new features whiz by. I guess that’s just the business, Sony doesn’t really have services so they gotta make the money somehow.
@@Ebonshroud I think the iPad has to be usb c and not lightening. but it seems they don’t tell you that in any of the promotional material (the real fine print)🤣
Can you please let me know exactly what type of iPad you are using where it isn't working? As demonstrated in this video my iPad worked perfectly with multiple types of devices
Absolutely. The "minipod" is a iFootage Cobra 2 Low Profile Minipod And the quick release system part of it is a iFootage Seastars Quick Release System Q1
@@Isaac_Insoll I am thinking in iPhones that has usb-c port, I am thinking when you are in a travel and the laptop is without battery you can use zoom-meeting app with and “external camera + iPhone” and the clients can see that you are more formal than make the meeting with only selfie camera (selfie camera, I think is good but only for friends, no clients) I know that is not necessary, but it is good to know if is possible in case
Shouldn't this work with the new iPhone 15's as well? perhaps they haven't included the feature yet. I tried it but couldn't find where to switch cameras in facetime.
So how do I get to choose which camera I want to use? I want to use this with my DJI Osmo Action 3 in Webcam mode, in conjunction with my Roland Aerocaster VRC-01, where I can use the iPad's camera, but I want to choose the Action 3 as the iPad's camera.... I downloaded the Beta iOs 17 the other night, but it was too late to try a Facetime call... But I tried Photobooth and video/camera apps, and it was still using the ipad camera... ??? Any suggestions?
I don't really see this new feature being something you'd use on a day-to-day basis even in professional meetings since front cameras on the iphones / new ipads got so much better with time, i know that a an actual mirrorless camera is way better but there is a bandwidth limitation on facetime to maintain a fluid transmission for both parties, therefore quality will not improve as much. the only situation i could find this useful is if it was a dim room since a bigger senso would help with the lowlight performance.
You’re right, the difference would be more obvious in a dimly lit room where the larger sensors really differentiate themselves but I still think there is a huge quality difference, even in good lighting.
Question on it. There is a current limitation on iPAD where the last plugged in audio device is used. So for example, if I plug in an audio interface, that turns off the internal speaker and mic. If I then plug in another audio interface it will disable the first one I plugged in etc. Does plugging in an external camera (with audio coming over the hdmi) prevent also using an audio interface? To test this, could you plug in an audio interface first (if you have one) and then plug in the camlink to see if it disables the audio interface?
From my testing it appears that it’s just picking up the webcam, audio appears to be completely independent. So I’d imagine you would still have the “last plugged in audio interface” as well as “last plugged in camera”. Obviously it’s an early beta so it might change but that’s the current bahviour
@Isaac_Insoll I use my ipad as a digital mixer with an audio interface and AUM to route and add effects to the audio channels. If I can now livestream with the ipad, then it means I don't need to run a PC at the same time. The offering would be quite similar to a YoloBox. What is the capture framerate like when using a 60hz webcam and/or a camlink? Could we add a iPad Mini to the back of each camera rig in a multi camera rig to get everything wireless streaming?
Okay, I’ll download the latest beta soon and if it’s not working I’ll update the description and pin a comment. Did you successfully have it working with a previous beta? If so, what device were you plugging in?
Great video, does it only use iPad microphone, eg when FaceTiming, is it using iPad microphone or the built in mic from camera/ webcam, personally would prefer if it was 100% time only using iPads mics
It was using iPad mic and speakers in first video and then AirPods for audio in second video, so definitely just using camera for video feed, not audio
Can’t wait to use this with a teleprompter mounted to my mirrorless camera with the ipad in the autocue tray
Please let us know if you think it’s possible with the iOS 17 to use the external camera for TikTok live streaming.🙏🏼🙏🏼🎥
I have the same question im just going to buy it on amazon if it doesn’t work, i would let you know
Did this work for you guys?

With a dongle, do you think that you can provide like a Rode Mic for awesome audio as well
Can you do an update of this video using zoom? Please! Thank you😊

Can you select camera mic over iPad mic as source?
Does it works on any other app or live streaming platforms??

It would be nice if the ultra expensive Sony A7Sm3 that I bought had a built in webcam mode...like the ultra cheap ZV-E10 comes with...

Tried with iPad 10 with usb c and x-h2, tried several cables, camera on webcam mode. Not working. iOS 17. Am I missing something?
Did you enable webcam mode on the camera itself?
Thanks for the video, is it possible with IPhone or only IPADS ? Thanks
As far as I know it's only iPads. Honestly I didn't even try with my iPhone though as it's a lightning port and I don't have a suitable adapter
