Cape Verdean Creole is an amazing language omg
Is it possible that I understand the lyrics? I mean between Spanish (my native language) and Portuguese I really think it translates so easy!
@@chechujmnz2577 I find that really hard to believe. Cape Verdean creole has a totally different grammar when compared to Spanish or Portuguese, e.g. verbs and pronouns. Of course the vocabulary is easy to understand but that's really superficial and can lead to DEEP misunderstandings (source: I'm Portuguese but I have lots of Cape Verdean cousins)

I bet it's totally different with only two paragraphs and a lot of free time! But it really did make sense to me taking concepts familiar to Spanish here and there! Onomatopeyas and words like kaza, disdangu, apoka, litratu and bem are so similar that they do paint a picture!

Chechu Jmnz as I capeverdean myself and someone who has lived and speaks both Portuguese, Spanish and Creol, I can tell you that yes, if we speak slow you might be able to understand some things. Creol from Cape Verde is a mix of Portuguese + other African languages (unfortunately we don't know which but surely Creol from Guiné Bissau).
Taking into account the proximity between Portuguese and Spanish it is normal that you understand Creol from Cape Verde.
The same way even tough I do not speak Italian, I can understand some things and even read. All this due to the proximity to the languages I speak (Roman languages I believe they are called?).
We recently discovered that we have some similarities with Creol from Corazon island that has no Portuguese influence whatsoever and we can understand some things, now imagine Spanish and Portuguese!
Hope this is an inspiration for you to go and try to learn it 🙃

It's Cape Verdean creole, a mix of portuguese with west African languages. Cape Verde Islands are near Africa, . The culture it's a mix of portuguese, Africa and Brazil. It's situated in the Atlantic Ocean,
