Such elegance in this card!! Natasha, I suspect you & probably all crafters can attest to how amazing it is to have ideas & see them realized - I get a sense that this is a huge part of the joy you have when you create your oh so gorgeous cards & in turn bring joy to us here & with those who use & receive the cards you’ve made. This might seem funny for someone who hasn’t used Simon Hurleys Lunar Paste yet, but my vote is Yes to getting some of his other colours - I have noticed from your videos that a little goes a long way, & “selfishly”, I would love to see what you create with some of his other colours.
I did laugh when you finally said “have you noticed it?” I didn’t notice at all but well done for rescuing it 😂 I love that you’re not afraid to share things like that with us everyday crafters 😅 Thanks as usual for sharing your brilliant ideas for “using what we have“ Tasha Take care 🤗🥰
So fun. I also like the slippery when wet lunar paste. I have the silver and gold but like the slippery when wet best. I love ivory cardstock. I tend to use it more than white. I buy the Recollections heavy cardstock from Michael’s here in the states and wait till they have a sale (which is often) usually buy one get one 50% off. The heavyweight is available in white black and ivory and I use all three. Thanks Natasha for all your creativity!💕
Natasha you are so real! You don't try to act like you are someone you are not! Love this idea of embossing paper towel! I vote that you invest is a few different colors of Luna paste, in particular blue & red 🍒!
I got my first Lunar Paste, Slippery When Wet, because of you! When it arrived, I tried it & then told my teenage daughter, "you gotta see this!" :-) I got a red (bee sting) maybe a month ago, for Valentine's Day. Made some SMOKIN' cool cards with it . . . I'll try to remember to post on the FB page. I recently decided to get a basic rainbow of colors, and I'm slowly accumulating them. And SILVER. I was excited when I heard about silver, but it sold out right away. A certain website just got a few back in stock, and I snatched one up before they sold out. Hopefully it'll be here by the end of the week. Thanks for sharing your creations with us, Natasha!
Yes to more colours of gilding, but you can make your own gilding wax using out of date eyeshadow (or new if you buy cheap) and a balm! The eyeshadow should obviously be sparkly, but it works a treat. Mix it up, apply it and then buff it with a dried out baby wipe to make sure it doesn’t rub off.
I think we have all made at least 1 upside down card before, and more than likely we'll do it again but hey, that's one of the joys of crafting - being able to rescue it!
This is awesome! The white/ cream/ paper towel is so elegant! I eagerly await new videos from you to see what new tricks you have up your sleeve! Very clever and so creative.
Oh yes, definitely recommend trying a couple other lunar paste colors. I have this one and the Bee Sting red and it is gorgeous!!! I use them both for Christmas cards mostly... TFS 🤗
Yes Tash, you should get the Lunar Pastes in ALL the colors. The colors are just gorgeous, metallic goodness. Pinks my favorite color, and I highly recommend Prom Queen Lunar Paste. So, so pretty. I loved your cards today, and I learned that kitchen towels are a versatile crafting item!!❤️🌷❤️
No this time I didn't catch it. Glad you did. Great card. Really did not know that you could emboss paper towel and still have it stay together. And I love the tin foil. What great ideas. Thank you.
Well, now I know I'll never run out of surfaces to emboss. I even have some light blue shop towels in my closet that I use for washing out the kitty litter box. Those would be so pretty embossed! 🤗 Now you have my outside-the-box wheels turning.... Thank you!! 💕
Pretty! The green leaves added the perfect touch. I glued a card front on wrong the other day, but sentiment was already inside and now upside down. 😂 Into the bin and start over.
I cut the front cover off, trim if necessary and glue it on a new card base. Its just an extra layer of cardstock on your card. You can use the back(inside) of the card for die cutting. Stamp a new inner sentiment and its saved! Xx
I have all of Simon’s Lunar Pastes and use them in so many ways - - backgrounds (they blend nicely), painting, highlights, no-crack embossing, dries super fast and doesn’t rub off. And the bonus is that the colors are shiny and gorgeous. Just like your card!! Gorgeous. 🥰
I have embossed foil before and also had great results. I think I adhered a single layer to cardstock before embossing. I can't wait to see what you do with the paper bag. The paper towel turned out great! Laura Bassen uses cream cardstock often in her videos if you want to see how it looks with the white. You keep me inspired. Love your videos.
Hi Tash 🥰🦘 Yes, I have used white serviettes & would use that 2nd or 3rd white sheets of the patterned serviettes to emboss. You could try eyeshadow & PVA glue to colour the leaves/flowers. Love your videos regardless of whether I would make the cards you do. I often get ideas whilst I am watching your videos because of who I am making the card for, what they could relate to etc. Using embossing dies is good too. So many options. TFS🥰🙏🎖️
I've purchased a jar of paste thats called mother of pearl and use my pigment powders to color it in the color I need. I don't have a lot of space and I don't use pastes that often so for me it's quite a good way to have what I need when I need it. I'd not invest in different colors of pastes as long as I'd know I use it up. But that's just my opinion and what I found out over the years of crafting 😊.
Thanks for adding this thought. I use my mica powders to make sprays. I'm beginning to see the savings of buying 'base' products for sprays, pastes, gells, etc and tint it with powders. In that sense, a nice set of mica powders (Arteza?) might be a good investment.
Another amazing video from our girl! I didn’t notice however I can relate. I have done that several times & it has been some of my favorite makes & by the time I notice I’ve run out of time. I manage to use it in another way though so that’s good. Tfs
I Have all of the Simon Hurley lunar pastes and they are so much fun. They are so nice and easy to use and beautiful colors. With your creativity you could do a lot of things with the lunar pace. I think you would enjoy them if you got them
I love this technique. Just wanted to let you know that I have 8 different colors of lunar paste and love them all. They are so versatile. I started with the slippery when wet and have slowly added the rest. Great investment.
Hi. As soon as you asked about noticing anything I knew instantly what you'd done, couldn't see it but I knew. Good save! 😂 I have the same gold as you and I also have the blue. They're just lovely to use. Thank you so much for sharing these outstanding ideas and your card is as sweet as a nut. Another great video to boot, have a wonderful week.
Oh haven't we all done that trick of gluing the card front on the base backwards? LOL I have both cream and bright white cardstock because with some colors I think cream looks better. Muted shades vs vibrant colors. Thanks for another wonderful video!
😊😊 that was funny, but easily fixed. I love Lunar paste, I got gold and silver, but I could get so many more other colours, once they reach a good sale price.
I use more cream colored card stock than white. I just like the softness of it. I also use a dark brown ink instead of black. That also contributes to a softer look.
Hi Natasha. I love Alternew's 3D embossing folders. Your card looks amazing. I saw another YTer have some different colour Luna pastes and they look stunning. You have so many ideas that I think it would benefit you to invest in a few more. I want to order a few for me. I am going to try 3D embossing on loo paper lol. In South Africa we call kitchen towel either kitchen towel or roller towel. TFS. 🤗💙
Once I knew that cardmaking was truly my thing, I did invest in heavyweight cardstock in the basics: white, cream/ivory, black and kraft. I occasionally will buy colors for something special, but usually just by the sheet. If I ever find the perfect Christmas red in the 110lb, I may just buy a whole case! I am trying to use up my lighter weight colors and have a new rule for myself: I have to love every color in a multipack before I buy. No more making space for colors I hate! Thanks so much for this. I’m thinking foil for valentines for my guys and paper towels for the girls. I’m pretty sure I will need to recuperate from upcoming knee surgery in the craft room!
Natasha, I love your new opening and closing music! I have done the embossing on foil before, but you blew me away with the wet embossing on some paper towels or toilet tissue! I’ll can’t wait to try that as it looks just like moulded paper! Thank you for the wonderful suggestions!
I’ve been using foil on masculine cards for over a year 😊 some things rub off in experiments though, I use it with the machine panel look, cogs etc I even used it for a valentines card 😉
I just have the same Lunar Paste gold you do. I love it. I’d like to get more colors, too, but there are so many to choose from! I wish they had some 3 packs of a smaller size jar to try.
What fun ideas!! Must try the tin foil for sure! I have all the Luna pastes now and love them for so many things. I love to just smear light layers of a variety abstractly over a sheet of paper, or a single color, then use for die cuts. I did a combo blue/green/pink/silver and die cut small dragonflies and butterflies from it, they were gorgeous and got lots of attention. A fun think to do on a no mojo day!! 🦋
@@MargueriteAtHome Hi, I usually use them after I emboss, I really love florals on black card, then use my finger and rub the lunar paste on the raised parts of the florals and leaves. I sometimes use very small makeup foam applicators for more intricate areas. The lunar paste really pops off the black card!
I think the water colours looked just as good, at least on the paper towel. I do like the lunar paste, however it's one of those extravagant products that scare my budget😂
I just purchased "Slippery when wet" after hearing & watching you use it. I have to wait to try it as I'm on vacation next 10 days. Have you seen Simon Hurley's video when he puts several colors on a mat, sprays with water & then smooshes onto black card?? FANULOUS! I think that you should get more colors 😁✈️😎⛱️☀️
I looove my Simon Hurley Lunar pastes! I bought a few, then after I'd played with them I bought a few more! They can be used through stencils as is for a bit of dimension or thinned with water to be sponged on flat. Thin them more for painting or use as is with your finger to rub onto embellishments or around cardstock edges. Once you have a few colours you can blend them in small quantities to make new colours too. The new silver is a lovely 'white' silver.
I only just started using white cardstock in the last few years. Mostly, I used cream for almost all my cards as that's what I fancy, I guess. It is hard to find exactly the shade I want sometimes. I've learned not to buy a whole lot at first until I'm sure it's really the color I want. Thanks for these alternative embossing ideas.
Beautiful card! I have used toilet paper and I was able to use distress inks to ink the entire background. You just need to be a bit more gentle and you will get a few fuzzies. But it turns out beautiful. I will have to try the gold paste next time.
What wonderful ideas. Thank you, Natasha. I own a number of the Lunar Pastes and I love them for colouring. I particularly like the berry/purple/red colours. Great investment.
Wow this is awesome. I love how you come up with these ideas. And the results are fabulous. Even if the card is upside down...lol...I have done that many a time. :)
Everything you make is so interesting - you really have a great way of turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. ( still can't get used to the new music - haha )
I laughed when you made your boo boo, I have done that too, I bet we all have at one time. I have done that technique with toilet paper. Beautiful card.
I love the card and yes you should get more lunar paste. Why? Because I love it too but I don't really know how to use it until you show me how! 🤣 I'll buy you a coffee to help with the cost! ♥️
