    It is much harder to get a good sharp cutoff in reflector headlights retrofitted with LED. Projector headlights manage it much better although the bottom cut has larger darker spot.

    Is better to choose a led bulb with external driver instead of one with driver incorporated ? Where is the proper place to put external driver? Thanks!

    Hi, Professional work. thank you. How do you adjust the Kickup, for driving on the right side countries?

    • @GarageTechAutomotive
      @GarageTechAutomotive  2 года назад +2

      Hey, sometimes depends on the vehicle, There should be a switch or lever (sometimes a screw) inside the headlight unit that allows you to adjust the height of the beam pattern some will have a leaver on the headlight which flattens off the beam pattern. If not, then you will need to buy a sticker which you stick on the headlamp which flattens the beam pattern.

    Hi
    Did they cause an error warning?

    • @GarageTechAutomotive
      @GarageTechAutomotive  2 года назад +1

      Not in this car as it doesn’t have a bulb warning system. They can if you have a bulb warning system. You can purchase an additional bulb warning error decoder, they sell these on their website

      They have made some changes to the MOT regulations and I can’t remember off the top of my head, depends on model year and if you have projector headlamps I think 💭

      They are legal but you will fail the MOT , so put regular bulbs before

      No not in mine as I have xenon’s. If you have halogen headlamps these would be a a good upgrade

  • @t5jerry
    @t5jerry 2 года назад

    NO , NO, NO,YOU CANNOT USE LED BULBS IN NON PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS, you should know this AND should be telling potential buyers this ! they will dazzle oncoming cars/traffic continuosly.

    • @bacevs
      @bacevs 2 года назад +4

      I think you're thinking of hid bulbs which require a projector lens to focus the beam

    • @t5jerry
      @t5jerry 2 года назад

      @@bacevs no, BOTH hid AND led are designed to work in projector lenses, you CANT put led or xenon BULBS into a STANDARD reflector, ie, non projector, it causes too much dazzle to oncoming traffic. FACT !

      Have you tried these in your own car or motorcycle or did you read that somewhere. I use a specific British Pre Focus led designed for the type of headlamp fitted to 1950s and 60s vehicles and it has a very sharp cut off on low beam, and doesn't cause anyone to flash me. Cheap ebay led's that aren't designed for a particular vehicle dont focus in the headlamp correctly and scatter the light everywhere, and besides not lighting the road properly, they dazzle oncoming drivers. I've tried the cheapest ones and the correct ones. They are not all the same and need to be specific to the vehicle they will be used in.

      That's just false, modern LED bulbs work perfectly fine in reflector headlights.

    • @ivanplevneliev4612
      @ivanplevneliev4612 Год назад

      I think that the problem comes from the way the bulb is mounted. When the chips emitting the light are facing up and down light is scattered and when they face sideways light is in a rectangular shape. So the 90 or 180 degree mounting and reflector shape is what matters. So what you are saying is not always true but can happen. So it is not a fact.
